Reviews
We chose The Jaffa Hotel for its beauty and reputation, especially to mark a special occasion – a wedding. While the hotel itself is architecturally stunning and the location is truly one-of-a-kind, our experience, particularly around the bridal package and service, left much to be desired.
Booking the Bridal Package – A Nightmare
Trying to book the bridal package was extremely frustrating. It was impossible to do it through the regular channels because the hotel required us to provide names of all outside vendors (photographer, makeup artist, hair stylist, etc.) in advance. This level of bureaucracy turned a process that should have been joyful into a logistical headache. We were forced to finalize everything just two days before the wedding – a completely avoidable and incredibly stressful situation.
Check-in Experience – Cold and Unhelpful
Upon arrival, the receptionist simply pointed us in the direction of the room. No one walked us to the suite or offered to explain any of the features – something you'd expect in a hotel of this caliber. To make matters worse, there were basic amenities missing in the bathroom, such as toiletries.
Food – The True Highlight
On a much brighter note, the food was exceptional. Breakfast was amazing, and dinner was absolutely delicious. The quality, variety, and presentation were all top-notch – a real highlight of the stay.
General Service – Hit or Miss
Service during meals and around the hotel was generally excellent, but sadly, that level of care didn’t extend to key moments. For instance, when the bride and groom returned to the hotel after the wedding celebration, exhausted and carrying luggage, no one assisted them. At a five-star hotel, this kind of oversight is unacceptable.
Overall Impression
The Jaffa Hotel is undeniably beautiful, and the setting is perfect for a luxury experience. But unfortunately, the service was inconsistent and at times careless – especially during moments that mattered most. A venue like this has so much potential, but our experience was marked by unnecessary stress and disappointment.
Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2 out of 5)
Beautiful place, great food – but poor service and chaotic planning made it a frustrating stay, especially during such an important event.
We were really looking forward to dining at the Jaffa Hotel Restaurant — the venue is absolutely stunning, with so much potential. The food was actually good; I’d especially recommend the spicy fries. But unfortunately, the service was one of the worst I’ve experienced in a long time.
Our server, Pavel, was extremely rude from the very beginning. While his English wasn’t great (which we can completely understand), the bigger issue was his complete lack of knowledge about the menu. He couldn’t even tell us whether our main dishes came with any sides.
When the sides finally arrived separately, we politely explained that we wanted everything to come together. Instead of acknowledging the request, he responded with visible attitude and annoyance — making the entire interaction uncomfortable. It felt unnecessarily personal, and I couldn’t help but feel that he didn’t like the language I was speaking with my friend.
To make matters worse, he never offered us a wine list — we had to ask for it ourselves — and the surrounding area had dirty napkins that no one seemed interested in cleaning up.
But the final straw was when he brought out my friend’s food and side dish… and completely forgot mine. I had to wait an additional 12 minutes for my meal, only to find out later that he hadn’t even put my dish through the till. That’s basic service — and it was completely neglected.
All in all, the restaurant’s atmosphere and food are promising, but the service was genuinely awful. It’s a shame such a beautiful place is let down by careless and unprofessional staff. I won’t be returning.
