Grand Hotel Majestic gia' Baglioni

Big let down and DOES NOT belong in the category for "Leading Hotels of the world". After traveling all over Italy, this was one of the most expensive stays, yet our least favorite hotel. The service was good and the rooms were beautiful, but the amenities were lacking. The bed sheets felt like sand paper and very uncomfortable, at the time of stay (November 28th) the AC was off so personally I was hot and had to get a fan sent to room which helped. The pillows aren't comfortable. I've had better sheets, beds, and pillows at 2 star hotels. The bedding and comfort is not 5 star hotel quality.
The restaurant they have is NOT good, and we spent almost 300 Euro for sub-par food that we only ate 2 dishes for the 6 dish tasting. Great presentation. Great service, horrible taste. My date almost threw up after the first dish (truffle mushroom). The tortellini were hard and I even mentioned to the waiter who basically told me they were suppose to be like that and made it seem like i didnt know whay i was talking about. Not sure how the staff cant catch on to us not eating the food and the disgusted looks we gave with the food. Not to mention, the silverware was dirty, and they brought me a dirty knife 2 different times after each time asking for clean silverware.
Overall, I wouldn't stay here again and encourage anyone else to look at other options since you are going to overpay for what they consider 5 star quality. I will just stay in Florence at the Villa Cora next time and take a train for the day if I need to come back to Bologna. But I will never come back here.
