Hotel Ester in Florence

The toilet got clogged and wouldn't flush.
Other than that there were no particular issues.
It was close to the station and the reception was very helpful.

Samir (not sure if I got the spelling right) at the front desk was very helpful and sweet. The three stars on this review are for him :) However, our room’s air conditioning was super spotty. Some nights it would work great, but others it would increase 6 degrees Celsius in the night and we would wake up sweating/unable to sleep. The first night we were told this is just how the AC unit was, so we just accepted it but because it was so hot we just had to sleep sans clothing. Our shower drain was also not great, accumulating water to our ankles even after we told them about it and they fixed it. The toilet would also make a continuous whining sound after it was flushed, and my boyfriend (who’s luckily very handy) had to dismantle the flushing system to make it stop. While the windows do a great job of blocking out outdoor noise, the walls within are very thin. We had to listen to two children screaming continuously for hours in the room right next to ours for two days. The location here is pretty killer though, close to the train station and very easy to get to. All in all, if you don’t mind heat, water swirling around your ankles, and can sleep through noises this would be a good stay for you!
