This hotel is not as bad as the other reviews suggest. If you have the right expectations, this hotel does the job. I was there with my family for a vacation this past summer. We were taking a cruise from Genoa. We were looking for a hotel near the train station so we could do a self guided excursion to Cinque Terre and Pisa. We needed a hotel near the train station and of the two train stations in...
Our stay at Starhotels President was a perfect blend of comfort, style, and convenience. The hotel’s modern design and spacious, well-kept rooms made it a relaxing retreat after exploring Genoa. Beds were comfortable, rooms spotlessly clean, and the atmosphere calm and welcoming. The location is excellent — just steps from transport links and within easy reach of the city’s attractions. The staff were...
The main advantage of this hotel is its location — just steps away from the train station and within easy walking distance of the city’s main attractions and the waterfront. Built in the 1960s–70s using the modern technologies and quality materials of that era, the hotel has largely retained its original style and atmosphere. The rooms could definitely use some renovation. In my case, the air conditioner...
It's OK. There are many nice hotels in Genoa.
Great Hotel. I always come back willingly.
This hotel is excellent close to 5 stars standard. I am actually surprised it's 4 stars. It has a perfect spot next Genova Brignole which gives you good travel options by trains and buses

When I chose this hotel amongst others and I booked a room for the beginning and again for the end of my tour of Liguria with my son, I knew I was booking a very good place. I absolutely loved the whole experience: the hotel is really beautiful, the rooms we had were bright, clean, spacious and both had a stunning view. Breakfast is excellent, I can't think of anything that wasn't available, a really...
We stayed one night at B&B HOTELS - Hotel Genova during our 10-day trip through northern Italy and southern France, and it was one of our favorite hotel stops. The room was spacious and immaculately clean. The check-in staff was super helpful, and all the staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. We especially want to highlight the breakfast—it was by far the best hotel breakfast we...
My husband and I have traveled to Italy before but have stayed in an AirBnB. For this trip, we booked all of our stays with B&B Hotels and Genoa was by far the best! Super convenient location being right across from the train station! Our room was quite large and had beautiful hardwood floors, high ceilings, two big windows with a pretty view, was very clean, the bed and pillows were super comfy, and...
Nice hotel located by the central station with a reasonable distance to the center and the old town. The staff is super nice and helpful, especially Francesco. Large and fresh rooms with air conditioning, unfortunately a very small elevator so if you are a family of 4 you have to go in turns. The breakfast is good with a varied selection, but the refill is a bit slow so you may have to wait for what...
All of the staff I encountered was kind and helpful. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and a nice bathroom. My experience would’ve been a 5/5, BUT, during my short stay I saw 2 cockroaches (1 in the breakfast room and one in the hallway near my room). It was quite disturbing and made me question the cleanliness of entire hotel.
Hotel staff was very helpful and quick to meet us upon arrival. Had a problem with the ac system and they were very helpful to get it taken care of. Also suggested a Wonderful restaurant and ice cream place.

Rooms are great, service at reception was great. Unfortunately not enough staff, plates or food to cater at breakfast for the huge number of guests in August. Not walking distance from the Centre
Very basic hotel, just for those who are looking for a sleep. Only 2 elevators for this high building hotel and the day that I was there the one of the elevators were broken. I had to wait minimum 10 minutes to be able to use it. They didn't provide iron and board in the rooms their is a common one next to the reception. I'm a business traveller and this is important to me. I had to wait again for...

Very friendly reception staff. They speak French, which is very convenient. The breakfast buffet has a lot of choices. The service is efficient and clean. The only downside is that the sheets aren't changed every day... there's just a room cleaning without changing the sheets. Good stay. Close to the city. I recommend it.
Dear Novotel Genova City, As a employee in Accor Hotels, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Novotel Genova City. The reception staff, restaurant team, and management were incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming throughout my stay. Your warm hospitality and excellent service truly made my experience memorable. Thank you for going above and beyond to ensure everything...

I don't know if it's a bad location or that the city is kind of ugly. Although the hotel is located at a super-strategic train and bus stop, the city has a lot to talk about. They were very attentive with the cleanliness of the room, which surprised me. They serviced my room without me asking, so don't leave anything of value inside. I didn't lose anything, but it's still better to be cautious.
Arrived to the location from train station. Needed to visit the cruise terminal and the hotel was a perfect distance from train station and cruise terminal to be able to walk to either. The location seemed alot nicer in the pictures.
The location of the hotel is OK, near the train station, and it was easy to find with navigation. It seems to have just been renovated, and the room has a decorative feel. The hotel is compact overall, and the elevator is small, which can only accommodate two people with luggage. The bathroom is small and not very convenient to use, but fortunately the shower water is very strong. The front desk staff...
the hotel was perfect, the room was very clean and very nice. The only problem was maybe the elevator that with the suitcases is a bit uncomfortable because it was small, but for the rest everything was perfect.
Location is good, near Coach and Train terminal. Although facilities are basic, it is good enough for the short stay and represent good value for money
It takes 5 minutes to transfer to the center circle of the pier, subway and train station. The hotel is clean and well-equipped. Along the seaside line, you can reach the Maritime Museum and Diving Aquarium. During the period, you can enter the retired submarine, making it suitable for family travel.

This hotel is super satisfactory, clean and comfortable.
This hotel is amazing. Nice breakfast and enjoy sauna. Highly recommend if you are tired. Thanks a lot.
It's close to the airport, but the surrounding area is really inconvenient. The only supermarket is closed. You have to walk twice as far to buy water.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Astoria in Genoa. The entire staff is extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful – you feel welcome from the very first moment. The location is not far from the port, passing the commercial center and the old town. The design is stylish and clean. The room is spacious and bright.
I've stayed in many hotels in Italy, but the Astoria is hands-down the best! The rooms are well-organized, fully equipped, and clean. The architecture is stunning, and every detail is thoughtfully designed. The staff is warm and attentive, and the service is exceptional. It's also conveniently located near the square. I highly recommend it!

Stayed there as usual, breakfast was good. Convenient location. Very close to the fountain, many restaurants around. The room was quite clean, it would be better to choose a higher floor.
Our stay was really short. The air-condition wasn't working and we discovered it at the end of the day when it was time for a sleep. We didn't inform the reception
Great location and very quiet despite being central and walking distance to metro station. Amazing breakfast options served up by the best, most hard-working staff. Would stay again.
I was very hungry and tired. This hotel has everything. I was very a enjoy dinner. The restaurant is 7 stars restaurant. Hotel room is super comfortable, quite, clean and nice views outside windows. Thanks you so so so much.
Just spent 2 wonderful days in Genova with my family. The hotel was the cherry topping. Perfect position, cordial knowledgeable staff , great breakfast and very clean room. What could I ask for more? Keep up the great work🙂
A very nice, well located and quiet hotel. Our family really enjoyed the view from the triple room (what a balcony!) and the seclusion of the street location - with two great restaurant choices a few steps away. Short walk to the key piazzas, the cathedral and the port. Accessible by Metro as well.

Small but lovely clean rooms, with clean towels and sheets, good water pressure. Some pieces of furniture could be easily removed for creating more space 😅 The staff is helpful, we had a tasty breakfast, it was a good one night stop for us. The city is another story, we had a long walk to the center and discovered a dirty and maybe a dangerous Genoa😳
Good hotel, right next to the main station of Genova. The building looks historic and the elevator was very unique - really loved it. The rooms were spacious, clean and had a decent view! Breakfast had decent choices and were filling. Staff were friendly, and told us the places to go in Genoa! Location-wise, there are plenty of little bars and restaurants around. The only missing thing was a supermarket...
A VERY DECENT HOTEL. Clean, kind staff. I had the executive room. Good price. AND VERY GOOD COFFEE. CONS: THE LOBBY CLOSES AT 23.00 AND YOU MUST ENTER THROUGH THE SISTER HOTEL. THE ELEVATOR GETS STUCK BECAUSE OF DUMB GUESTS!!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING IS WORSE THAN CLIMBING 4 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS AT MIDNIGHT CAUSE SOMEONE FORGOT TO CLOSE THE DOOR OF THE “ANTIQUE” ELEVATOR
We were very happy with our selection of hotel. This hotel is located right next to the main train station and at walking distance to the city center. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was delicious!!! Staff spoke English well and were very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this hotel to friends and family
We really enjoyed our one night stay! The bed was comfortable and we stayed in a corner room, which had two windows that opened up to a nice view. It made for a lovely breeze through the room. The shower was wonderful and the hotel is located in a convenient, very walkable area. Would recommend!
Not recommended. I stayed in a room on the second floor. The next day, I found a lot of ants on the floor. I reported it to the hotel and they said they would deal with it. When I went back at night, I found more ants on the windowsill... Although I was given a new room, the room was smaller... And the mattress was uncomfortable and had a pit. I was sore all over after sleeping for two nights.

At walking distance from the De Ferrari metro station, from where you can easily get the trains to Cinqueterre, Milan, etc. Good option for those taking a cruise at the Genoa port.
Well-kept and welcoming structure. Small room but with everything you need. Located in a perfect area to visit Genoa on foot.
The location of the hotel is perfect to explore the center of Genoa. The welcome by the staff was lovely and the room comfortable.
I had a lovely stay here, the staff were so friendly and helpful. It was also a great location. I’d stay here again if I get back to Genoa.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful and knowledable. The bathrooms had been recently renovated so they were nice and clean. Only drawback was the flight of stairs you have to climb with your suitcase just to get into the hotel lobby. Also it was hard to find dinning nearby as most places were closed when we were there.

The location is excellent. The breakfast is nice, and the reception staff are friendly and helpful
Walking distance from the train station. Single room, quite spacious, 2 windows in the room and 1 in the bathroom. The hotel is quite old, but clean.
Unfortunately the room (and the structure) are old, along with the upholstery. After days of travel, they are not the ideal place to relax. The dust in the elevator gears tells of years of neglect. I found the reception staff very kind. Overall, the quality-price ratio is not good.
The hotel is very old-fashioned, and the keys are still the original ones with teeth. You are not allowed to take them out when you go out. I guess you are worried about losing your copy. The elevator is made of mesh and will tremble when it stops. The curtains are very dirty, with a layer of dust visible to the naked eye. The bedside board is loose. Hotels at the same price are several levels higher...
The hotel is built along the mountain. It is uphill from Prince Station, which is inconvenient with luggage and there is no elevator. When you arrive at the front desk to check in, there are many stairs waiting for you from the front desk to the elevator entrance. Genovese refers to Genoese, and also means shrewd and stingy. The hotel is in a great location, right next to the train station. Just turn right and go up a slope to get there. Don't take the stairs in the middle. The main entrance is on the side of the road. The hotel is conveniently located, a 5-minute walk from the Piazza Principe train station and 10 minutes from the city center and the port. The room is clean and comfortable. Bottled water, tea, and instant coffee are provided. The only drawback is the small shower.
The hotel has a great location. That's where the positives end. The reception staff is extremely unfriendly; they don't say hello or goodbye. The rooms are old, the walls are stained, it's noisy until late at night, there's a smell of food in the room from the cafe on the ground floor, and the Wi-Fi signal is terrible.
The hotel is in a great location, very close to Prince Train Station, with convenient transportation and a rich selection of hotels, restaurants and bars around it. This hotel is well located to visit the Genoa aquarium, and within walking distance of the city center. The room was clean and overall OK, but it had a couple of weaknesses that make it more like a 2.5-stars rather than a 3-stars: the shower was tiny so it was hard not to bump in the walls, you could hear everything happening in the street (meaning the glass of the windows was too thin), there was...

Signora Etta is a friendly and helpful angel. We were there on July 1st.
B&B in the truest sense of the word. Very particular with two bedrooms and two bathrooms reserved for them. A wonderful view of the port which can be enjoyed in the morning by having a simple but abundant breakfast. The location is strategic to be able to move around the center on foot. The building dates back to 1918 and at the time was reserved as a luxury hotel until the end of the 1930s. The structure...
The warm and simple welcome that will be reserved for you will pleasantly surprise you, as well as the kindness and availability of the owner of the premises. The place is superb: an admirable palace where you would think you were a star with an impregnable view of the sea and the port. The Genoese are very welcoming and always ready to provide you with information and this makes the stay all the more...
The fact that the B&B is located in a former hotel alone, the house that has been restored in the old style, is worth the trip. You dive into another world. We had a large bedroom with an adjoining room for things, suitcases and other things. There was also a refrigerator, in which one finds cool water.
