Reviews
1. Breakfast Buffet: While the buffet offers a variety of options, I was surprised to find that if you want something like an omelet, you have to pay an extra €16.
2. Beach Amenities: you have to pay the tents that cost €300 per day.
3. Room Condition: The bathrooms are very dark and definitely in need of renovation.
4. Accessibility: If you don’t want to spend over an hour reaching the hotel from the airport, you need to take a water taxi, which costs €160 per trip. However, the hotel does offer free transportation to the city.
5• The staff was mixed; some were very friendly and attentive, while others were quite curt.
For a five-star hotel, these extra charges and outdated facilities were disappointing. However, the overall experience was still enjoyable thanks to the hotel’s unique charm.
The rooms are big and the views to the beach is recommended. The decor is dated but works and there is of course turn down service at night.
Now, they will really RIP YOU OFFwith all drinks and food. A coke is like 10 euros, a club sandwich 34 euros, as well as a hamburger 34 euros. Just drink tap water. A simple cocktail 25 euros.
Don’t stay there or at least don’t eat there
The hotel is beautiful and everything is great.
When we arrived the lock was opened but locked, so we couldn't use it. We complained together with some other things but, although they did our other requests, they forgot about the lock.
There was a constant low noise the whole time that made it harder to sleep. I think is the ventilation. Other than that everything was amazing. Nice breakfast, staff, ac....
Our room was immaculate and beautiful, we stayed in the grand deluxe sea view. It was a lot larger than expected and the size was amazing. The view was spectacular and one of the best aspects was the black-out motorized window covers. This made our jet-lag sleep much easier! Another positive was that the AC worked very very well, althogh slow tthe first day, it worked amazing I was so impressed. A few of the downsides: The coffee in the room costs money to use, I wish they had a regular coffee maker/ or cheaper version so we could have coffee in the rooom. Along with this- they provided waterbottles upon our first day but never refilled them. My husband and I asked concierge for aid but they directed us to utilize room service (paid). So each night, we had to pay for bottles at the bar and wait the 30 minutes to get serviced. Another downside of the room was the SCENTED toilet paper- as a pharmacist this is a huge no no, so caution to all of my females utilizing this resort. The scented toilet paper was also in the lobby restrooms so please be cautious, as the closest pharmacy is over in Venice.
Now moving onto the gym- there is no water dispenser available which was a huge downside for my husband who enjoyed working out everyday. The gym itself was awesome and very spacious.
The food and restaurants were beautiful with amazing service, service times were consistent with every european city. The food was incredible, especially the breakfast buffet. I would 100% recommend booking the included breakfast! The only downside of the restaurants was the cost... an aperol spirtz was 25 euros!
The beach was phenomenalm beautiful and quiet! We rented a cabana for one day while staying at the excelsior and it was incredible! The only thing I would caution others to consider is that there is no service provided once in the cabana, if you want to eat/get drinks you have to walk to one of the restaurants on campus. Another thing we didn't realize until after booking was that there is no access to the pool from the beach and vise versa, you have to walk through the hotel.
One of the BEST features was the boat service to and from venice and murano, it saved us so much money and was always on time/ran every day.
Overall, we really enjoyed the amenities of this resort and would recommend this site to friends and family, I just wanted to include these tid bits for anyone who wanted more information!
The beauty of the hotel's aesthetics was unfortunately overshadowed by a concerning issue with the bathmats in the shower. Despite being seemingly secured in place, they proved to be quite dangerous. During our stay, two separate incidents occurred where members of my party slipped while showering. One of them fell so severely that it nearly warranted a visit to the hospital.
The design of the tub, with its oddly steep downward angle, combined with the slippery nature of the mats, led to an extremely unpleasant and potentially harmful experience. We were deeply concerned about the safety hazard and sought to address it with the hotel management.
However, our attempts to communicate our experience to the manager were futile. Despite our request to speak with her, she was unavailable, and the woman at the front desk appeared disinterested in addressing our concerns. She assured us that the manager would contact us after taking our information, but unfortunately, we never received any follow-up communication.
Another issue that significantly impacted our stay was the persistent noise disturbance caused by the large shutters on the balconies. Throughout the night, these shutters continuously slammed against the building, keeping us awake and disrupting our sleep. Despite our efforts to mitigate the noise, it persisted throughout the duration of our stay, further diminishing the overall quality of our experience at the hotel.
While the hotel has stunning aesthetics, the lack of responsiveness to a serious safety issue detracted significantly from the overall experience. It's disappointing that such a beautiful hotel failed to prioritize the safety and well-being of its guests.
We drove there with car ferries that connect from Tronchetto to Lido.
The breakfast was fantastic that so many drinks and food to choose from.
