Great location with a boat to Venice every 30 min.
The hotel is beautiful and everything is great.
When we arrived the lock was opened but locked, so we couldn't use it. We complained together with some other things but, although they did our other requests, they forgot about the lock.
There was a constant low noise the whole time that made it harder to sleep. I think is the ventilation. Other than that everything was amazing. Nice breakfast, staff, ac....

My husband and I recently stayed at the Excelsior Venice Lido resort this summer and I wanted to leave a comprehensive review. For context- we are 25/26.

Our room was immaculate and beautiful, we stayed in the grand deluxe sea view. It was a lot larger than expected and the size was amazing. The view was spectacular and one of the best aspects was the black-out motorized window covers. This made our jet-lag sleep much easier! Another positive was that the AC worked very very well, althogh slow tthe first day, it worked amazing I was so impressed. A few of the downsides: The coffee in the room costs money to use, I wish they had a regular coffee maker/ or cheaper version so we could have coffee in the rooom. Along with this- they provided waterbottles upon our first day but never refilled them. My husband and I asked concierge for aid but they directed us to utilize room service (paid). So each night, we had to pay for bottles at the bar and wait the 30 minutes to get serviced. Another downside of the room was the SCENTED toilet paper- as a pharmacist this is a huge no no, so caution to all of my females utilizing this resort. The scented toilet paper was also in the lobby restrooms so please be cautious, as the closest pharmacy is over in Venice.

Now moving onto the gym- there is no water dispenser available which was a huge downside for my husband who enjoyed working out everyday. The gym itself was awesome and very spacious.

The food and restaurants were beautiful with amazing service, service times were consistent with every european city. The food was incredible, especially the breakfast buffet. I would 100% recommend booking the included breakfast! The only downside of the restaurants was the cost... an aperol spirtz was 25 euros!

The beach was phenomenalm beautiful and quiet! We rented a cabana for one day while staying at the excelsior and it was incredible! The only thing I would caution others to consider is that there is no service provided once in the cabana, if you want to eat/get drinks you have to walk to one of the restaurants on campus. Another thing we didn't realize until after booking was that there is no access to the pool from the beach and vise versa, you have to walk through the hotel.

One of the BEST features was the boat service to and from venice and murano, it saved us so much money and was always on time/ran every day.

Overall, we really enjoyed the amenities of this resort and would recommend this site to friends and family, I just wanted to include these tid bits for anyone who wanted more information!

The staff at this hotel were part of the highlight. Our flight was delayed 4 hours which meant we arrived at 1am after public transport closed. Ricardo on the reception team managed to find us a taxi and direct us all the way there to the beautiful entrance, jetty and lobby

Beautiful oceanfront classic hotel with a rich history (you might recognize it from scenes in Dr. No and other films). I stayed as a guest of a conference, and so I have no idea what the rate was, but suffice it to say the hotel boasts many amenities, with attentive staff and a great bar and terrace. Free water shuttle to San Marco, to boot. Massive rooms, and spotless. Short cab ride to water bus station.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Excelsior in Venice, Italy, and while the hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous, my experience was marred by a significant safety concern.

The beauty of the hotel's aesthetics was unfortunately overshadowed by a concerning issue with the bathmats in the shower. Despite being seemingly secured in place, they proved to be quite dangerous. During our stay, two separate incidents occurred where members of my party slipped while showering. One of them fell so severely that it nearly warranted a visit to the hospital.

The design of the tub, with its oddly steep downward angle, combined with the slippery nature of the mats, led to an extremely unpleasant and potentially harmful experience. We were deeply concerned about the safety hazard and sought to address it with the hotel management.

However, our attempts to communicate our experience to the manager were futile. Despite our request to speak with her, she was unavailable, and the woman at the front desk appeared disinterested in addressing our concerns. She assured us that the manager would contact us after taking our information, but unfortunately, we never received any follow-up communication.

Another issue that significantly impacted our stay was the persistent noise disturbance caused by the large shutters on the balconies. Throughout the night, these shutters continuously slammed against the building, keeping us awake and disrupting our sleep. Despite our efforts to mitigate the noise, it persisted throughout the duration of our stay, further diminishing the overall quality of our experience at the hotel.

While the hotel has stunning aesthetics, the lack of responsiveness to a serious safety issue detracted significantly from the overall experience. It's disappointing that such a beautiful hotel failed to prioritize the safety and well-being of its guests.

The room was spacious though a little dated, and the ocean view was amazing at night. They have a private beach and gazebos on the sand. We enjoyed at the beautiful swimming pool that was clean, and all towels are available.
We drove there with car ferries that connect from Tronchetto to Lido.
The breakfast was fantastic that so many drinks and food to choose from.

Incredible historic hotel, with a fantastic view of the Adriatic Sea during breakfast. Beautiful beach to walk on, and it was great fun to meet the locals walking their dogs along the beach. The shuttle to Venice is a wonderful convenience, and the location just makes staying here so much nicer. Lido is much more laid back and relaxed than Venice is, and there are incredible restaurants within a ten minute walk.

We enjoyed our time at the Excelsior in Lido. We had arrived 1 day after the Venice Film Festival had wrapped up and we felt like folks in the town were sick of tourists as we didn’t get the best treatment from the locals, so we stuck close to the hotel.
The staff was friendly and courteous, however, the cleaning staff was rude and seemed to be bothered by us asking any questions.
We also had a pair of sunglasses go missing from our room when went down for dinner. That was extremely disappointing.

The Blue Bar was not busy, neither was the hotel, and we enjoyed the snacks and food they had available at all hours. Particularly the tiramisu (omg, so amazing).
Roberta…one of the managers, went over and above creating a map for us, sowing us to get to places in Venice for our trip there the following day and told us about the nearby islands of Burano and Murano and where we should go. She was outstanding.

Overall our experience was pretty great

Note: don’t plan on taking their complimentary shuttle to and from the train station in Venice if you have luggage with you. They cannot take you. Plan to take a private taxi or public shuttle instead.

My recent stay at this hotel was, unfortunately, a mix of highs and lows. To begin with the positives, the rooms were impressively spacious, the bed was large and comfortable, and housekeeping did an excellent job keeping everything clean. The arrival and check-in process went smoothly, thanks to the friendly and helpful staff at the front desk.

Regrettably, the negatives far outweighed the positives. One major issue was the persistent pushiness about cleaning the room while we were still inside, which was extremely bothersome. Additionally, there was a lapse in providing fresh towels, and the attitude of the staff delivering them left much to be desired.

The breakfast experience was horrendous, with the worst eggs I've ever tasted and subpar coffee. Even the cappuccinos fell far below expectations. The most disappointing part was the dinner. Despite the restaurant having only one occupied table, they claimed all others were reserved, leaving me with no choice but to dine at the bar. The meal was nothing short of a disaster, with old bread and uncleaned tables. I finished my meal, paid, and promptly left, only to find the restaurant still empty.

It's disheartening when a hotel fails to accommodate its guests, especially when there are plenty of empty tables. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the improvement of the hotel's services.

Trash hotel with rude staff and overpriced nasty food. Room was dirty and full of stains. Maid entered my room on more than one occasion without permission. No Netflix or any way to watch anything other than Italian cable tv. They have some nerve charging the amount they do.
