I booked the Junior Suite, which is advertised as the best room in the hotel, but I was severely disappointed. The windows faced an interior hallway, offering no view or natural light. The furniture, particularly the couch, was old and had visible holes. To make matters worse, the air conditioning didn’t work properly. The humidity in the room was unbearable—so much so that a bag of chips I brought with me became soggy overnight.

I arrived at 10 PM, hoping to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, only to be told they had just closed, and in-room dining was unavailable after 10 PM. For a supposed 5-star hotel, I expected more flexibility or at least alternatives, but none were provided. I was only offered a Caprese salad, which was underwhelming given the situation. It was disappointing that the staff had no suggestions for nearby restaurants or takeout options either.

The one positive note of the evening was Simone, the bartender, who went out of his way to improve our experience. He kindly prepared the Caprese salad and later surprised us with a fresh fruit platter and a candle to celebrate my friend’s birthday, which was a thoughtful gesture.

The next morning, I requested a taxi that accepted credit cards, but the one that arrived didn’t. When I got into the taxi, the meter was inexplicably already at €35, but I had no other choice, as waiting for another taxi would have taken too long.

To top it off, the mini-bar was lacking basic amenities like glasses, and there were no robes in the room. For a total of €380, the experience was nothing short of dreadful. Needless to say, I left the hotel as soon as I could.

I expected so much more from a hotel claiming to offer a 5-star experience, but this stay fell far short of that standard.
