Reviews
I arrived at 10 PM, hoping to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, only to be told they had just closed, and in-room dining was unavailable after 10 PM. For a supposed 5-star hotel, I expected more flexibility or at least alternatives, but none were provided. I was only offered a Caprese salad, which was underwhelming given the situation. It was disappointing that the staff had no suggestions for nearby restaurants or takeout options either.
The one positive note of the evening was Simone, the bartender, who went out of his way to improve our experience. He kindly prepared the Caprese salad and later surprised us with a fresh fruit platter and a candle to celebrate my friend’s birthday, which was a thoughtful gesture.
The next morning, I requested a taxi that accepted credit cards, but the one that arrived didn’t. When I got into the taxi, the meter was inexplicably already at €35, but I had no other choice, as waiting for another taxi would have taken too long.
To top it off, the mini-bar was lacking basic amenities like glasses, and there were no robes in the room. For a total of €380, the experience was nothing short of dreadful. Needless to say, I left the hotel as soon as I could.
I expected so much more from a hotel claiming to offer a 5-star experience, but this stay fell far short of that standard.
I understand that the property is old and has a musty smell, and it is not clean. The pictures online did not accurately reflect the actual condition of the hotel. Our experience was very poor, and I would NOT recommend this three-star hotel to anyone I'm not sure how it received this 5 star rating.
Anyone can enter the rooms from outside the hotel without being noticed, and the parking area is open for anyone to come in and park their car then I consider the hotel is not secure.
The smell in the bathrooms is unbearable and prevents sleep as shown in pictures how the green fungus all around the pop-up of the wash basin. The door in my kid's room was difficult to lock and unlock. The bathroom smell needs to be addressed.
The cooling system is not functioning properly, and the temperature cannot be adjusted. It may appear that you can change the settings but in reality, it is not, No coffee machine in the room.before moving your back to the room make sure you see it first to check
We placed our trust in the luxurious reputation of the Bagni Di Pisa Palace & Thermal Spa - The Leading Hotels of the World, but our experience fell far short of expectations. Being accommodated in a room without external windows was the first sign of an impending disappointment. The description of "deluxe" for a 30-square-meter room was hard to accept when the reality was far from the promised comfort and luxury.
From the broken and poorly repaired door frame to the gray, worn towels that inspired disgust rather than hygiene, every detail of the room seemed to scream negligence and lack of respect for guests. The scuffed walls and yellowed paint were clear evidence of inadequate maintenance.
While we encountered the hospitality and "comic" services of the restaurant staff, the meager and undiverse breakfast only added to the overall feeling of disappointment. It's hard to understand how a hotel claiming to be 5-star can offer such a subpar experience.
My recommendation is to approach with caution and skepticism the reviews that praise this hotel, as our experience was far from what a luxury hotel should offer. Perhaps the photographer who provided the promotional images truly deserves all 5 stars, but unfortunately, our experience was far from this illusory reality.
They oversold the entry passes it seemed as the place was crowded as sardines! There was no place to change, not enough lockers, i had to change in the toilet and jam my things into a small 30x30 locker in the corridor where people were walking through and no privacy! I didn’t not appreciate it, for 58€ one can get better organized, imho.
There was enough food and drink and they also served 2 types of hot pasta and Prosecco wine 🥂🍾.
Pools were quite crowded, most in-pool jets for hydro massages didn’t work.
There was a [Russian] family with children (normally at many spas kids are not allowed in the evening hours!) and they were a bit disturbing us, taking photos in the pool and acting like they owed the place. Everybody at the pools were rolling eyes and looking at them in disbelief. Administration should have told them to behave themselves, honestly.
None of the pools has got a ramp for wheelchair access. Two parts of the spa are in opposite ends of the building connected by stairs to go up and down. I haven’t spotted an elevator either.
On the bright side, the spa is in a beautiful setting, gorgeous architectural structure, it’s very clean. You just need to avoid holidays time to escape annoying crowds.
