Grand Hotel Tremezzo

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and were not disappointed!

Set right on the lake the views are stunning. We were greeted on arrival by two eager and helpful bellmen who already knew who we were and whisked our bags away. We arrived early and the room wasn’t ready so the staff let us eat in the restaurant free of charge which was a nice gesture.

The rooms are well equipped and reasonably spacious and the whole hotel is very well appointed.

We reserved the entire spa for an hour (included in the resort fee) which was amazing, everyone should try it. We rented the tennis courts for an hour (also included) which was a ton of fun. The complimentary breakfast every morning was amazing and so relaxing as you look out over the lake sipping your coffee.

Overall the staff were very attentive, helpful and we really felt like we received 5 star treatment. The hotel is clearly well managed and customer satisfaction is top priority. For example, we got hit with a surprise bill for ironing services (they do not let you have an iron in the room for some reason) and upon explaining we would have ironed our own clothes if we could get an iron, they just removed the charge from the bill no questions asked. I like that they treat you with respect and don’t nickel and dime you.

I would highly recommend the hotel, we had an amazing time during our stay.

5* hotel! We enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return. It does help to book restaurants in advance. We had a lovely boat trip arranged by the hotel and a special dinner at their sister hotel, Passalacqua. The front desk staff were always very helpful during our stay. A Gem on the lake!

This is a great hotel, with a great location, outstanding service and excellent food. It's located on the lake between two ferry dock and numerous nearby shops and outside restaurants. I have stayed and eaten here for many years and it has maintained a high standard and Italian charm. Not a place that lists the famous people who have started there, you just know almost every who stays there is treated as if they were.

We were more than thrilled with our stay at Grand Tremezzo ! Everything was top-notch – from the excellent service especially Mr. Alberto Denotti for welcome and assistance & the delicious meals we enjoyed. The Aurelia Suite was the most beautiful room we have ever stayed in, with breathtaking views and an incredibly comfortable bed. The ambiance was fantastic and made our stay even more unforgettable.

We would like to sincerely thank you for the warm welcome, and we can confidently say that we will be back. It was an unforgettable anniversary for us, and we have truly fallen in love with the hotel. We wholeheartedly recommend the iconic Grand hotel Tremezzo our stay was simply iconic!

Stopped by as walk-ins on a busy Sunday lunch as a family with two kids. From the valet service to the site inspection by the Front Office Manager - everything very warm and welcoming. A true gem as a family owned and run luxury hotel. Private and stylish, from the architecture down the the uniform details. Congrats for this achievement! Will be back for sure!

The overall atmosphere, aesthetic, and ambience are all wonderful. As soon as you walk in you are in awe of this fine historic establishment. The pools and gardens are a work of art and no matter where you eat or where your room is, you will have a view of something beautiful. If I could go back to when I was planning my trip, I still would book this hotel to go through this experience once in my life. However, if I ever come back to Lake Como I will not stay at this hotel again for the below reasons. I almost wonder if all the focus and attention is now at their sister hotel Passalacqua and this hotel is now being managed “auto-pilot”.

- Front desk (not concierge): not super helpful, impatient, and act like you are a nuessence. They just seemed very busy and without time to help. Wonder if they are over-worked or stretched too thin. They could likely use more support or man/women-power

- Food: surprisingly, we did not have a single good dining experience in all of the hotel’s restaurants except for their breakfast which was really nice. Despite the astronomical and unnecessary prices, food was average compared to other Italian hotels/restaurants we have been to (and this was the most luxurious of all the other places we went to). I’m not sure what it is but the quality and recipes were not at the level we expected, everything was average and sometimes below average. We very much regretted eating at all the hotel’s restaurants and not going to surrounding places with great reviews (Al Valuu, Darsena, etc)

- Service: this was hit or miss, you can never predict if you’re getting a snobby pro or an amateur summer intern. We got both versions at some point during our stay and they really screwed up our experience (example: would go MIA, mix up our bill with another table, forget our order requests, etc)

- Strollers: this is not a stroller friendly establishment and there is not a single ramp or slope even though they make themselves to be a family oriented hotel. With the exhaustive amount of stairs involved in reaching the pools, carrying the baby/stroller was not ideal. They say they can help but that’s not the case

I do not regret my stay and putting a 4/5 review score because this truly is a special property. But with that being said I would not want to keep coming back for future Lake Como visits. it is a shame that such a fine establishment is tarnished with these easy to prevent/fix these issues.

Spent a few days at this hotel on my honeymoon and couldn’t be happier with our stay. The staff was incredible and attentive and the service overall was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. From the moment we arrived the service from every level of their staff was incredible.

Every morning we started our day with the unbelievable breakfast overlooking the lake. We then spent time in both outdoor pools, which were both stunning. When it rained we made use of the spa and the indoor infinity pool there.

Our room overlooking the lake was beautiful.

I would highly recommend staying here!

The staff work incredibly hard with such professionalism to ensure you enjoy your time here. You feel welcomed and taken care of everywhere you go.

Even if you visit just for the restaurants you are still given top service as if you were a hotel guest.

The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful with fantastic views. Do not miss this place!
