Sheraton Lake Como Hotel

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is architecturally beautiful but a bit old. The rooms are medium sized and the quality of pillows and duvets is quite high. There is a very good restaurant in the garden with a michelin star. The other restaurant at the poolside serves the hotel customers, the food is quite good, the wine menu is good. You can eat quality food. The hotel's pool is very nice, the towel service is very good, the sun loungers are very good quality.
We booked 4 rooms for two families with two children. At the entrance to the hotel, they first did the check in service for my family, thank you very much to Ms Valerie, she told us that she could give us a connected room, but that the connected rooms were on the black market and therefore it would be a lower priced room than we paid on the reservation, and we stayed on the same floor in two unconnected pool view rooms. At the next desk, the other family was offered a room for parents on the 3rd floor and children on the 5th floor. I asked why and Ms Silvia did not answer, a tall gentleman came to the next desk and he started to serve and gave a room to an Asian couple, meanwhile Ms Silvia did not answer us and she continued to laugh and talk with her friend while we were trying to understand why she placed a family with children on separate floors. When we were settling in our room, we saw that the Asian family settled on the 3rd floor. I went down and asked Ms Silvia about this situation and she came at me accusing my daughter, whom she saw next to me, of smuggling my daughter into the hotel. Of course we didn't smuggle anyone in.

Here I realized that we had been made fun of and subjected to racism by Ms. Silvia and her friend, the tall receptionist. It was a very bad start to a really nice como holiday. Ms. Valerie solved the problems and was friendly and hospitable, but she couldn't erase our bad memories.

i would like a call from the reservation manager, as a 10 year ambassador / lifetime platinum they are charging 500 euros for cancellation on points?! for a cancellation due to health reasons this is absolutely unacceptable.. this hotel is absolutely commercially driven and has no customer service

Very average. Such a pitty that it’s the only Marriott hotel at lake como. The rooms are extremely old, old walls, old bathroom, with tilted toilet seats, old shower, etc. The curtains were not good at all, a lot of outside light would come in and wake us up early in the morning. WiFi was slow. The tv is old with bad tv programs. Can’t even connect your phone like other Marriott hotels. AC didn’t work properly. We did not feel comfortable in the rooms at all. The restaurant kitchen as amazing got to be said, delicious food and great staff. The swimming pool area was also very pleasant. The lobby and breakfast area were mediocre at best, nothing special. They all share kinda the same space. Cocktails were good. Breakfast food was above average. The pizzas from room service were pretty delicious.

As an elite platinum member, no room/suite upgrade. No lounge!! First Sheraton I stayed that didn’t have one. No complimentary drinks or happy hour. Only option was breakfast or points. Kinda sad for the lack of recognition. Check in and check out especially was very slow. Parking 20€ daily. No late check out.

For ironing we are forced to go to the first floor to do it in this tiny shared laundry room. Not very accommodating and practical. Gym looked okay. Didn’t see the spa.

Overall for the price they ask and what they provide it is not worth it at all. Not even walking distance to actual city centre como. So not recommended to Marriott Bonvoy members or even non-members. Room renovations is a must and some elite benefits need to be added.

Can’t wait for the Ritz-Carlton in Bellagio to open in 2026.

We came in with a big group of around 30 people. One room near ground floor was actually broken into from the outside windows and had luggages stolen out of their room. Hotel did not do much to allay any fears. Some front desk staff was a bit rude as well. Will never recommend after this experience. little value as well for the price.
