Hotel Metropole Suisse

We arrived late from the train station to the hotel only to find out that booking.com had messed up the reservation stating that we had a lake facing view but that wasn't the case.

Mirene, THANK YOU for understanding the situation and helping us with moving us to a lake facing view for the nominal extra charge.

Ahmad and Giuseppe I can't begin to describe how amazing you guys are. Not only did you give us fantastic advise about where to go to eat for budget friendly places, but also spoke to us like friends. We're looking forward to coming to Lake Como only to meet up with you again. :)

The beds are very comfortable and the water pressure in the bathroom is also excellent with no drainage or hot water issues. Mentioning this only because for an older hotel, these are considered regular issues.

The morning breakfast is a very good spread and is looked after on a regular basis to ensure that the items running low are replaced immediately. The staff is very friendly to talk to and ensured that the used plates were cleared up right away before we got back with our next round of plates.

The location is seriously the biggest USP of this place. The water taxi stop is literally across the street from the hotel. Can't get any better than this. We will be staying here for sure the next time we visit Como.

Thank you once again Mirene, Ahmad and Giuseppe for making our first visit and stay at Como so memorable. You guys are super human and have gone the extra mile in every which way to make our stay comfortable.

My wife and I stayed in Hotel Metropol suisse in Como from 25 Oct 2024 to 29 Oct 2024. The location of the hotel is fantastic. room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent - lots of varieties to choose from. Overall a very good experience

On the waterfront, opposite the ferry and a short walk from the funicolore train up to Brunale, plus close to both como rail stations, a great location. Quirky rooms in an old building, with views over the bay and mountain too.
The staff were really helpful.
The only thing we thought was needed were USB sockets in the bedrooms, as the plug socket was attached to the bedside light and had trouble charging our devices.

We had 3 lovely nights here. Great location. Very walkable to EVERYTHING!
Rooms are on the small side but the sheets and bed were very comfortable.

Great location and very convenient for visiting the lake attractions or Como old town. You can also enjoy beautiful day or night views of the lake and see people going about their business. If you find a good price, this could serve as a suitable base for a couple of nights. The property is in dire need of updates, indicating it was a luxurious hotel in the past. It may get noisy due to its proximity to the street, but the windows are well insulated; simply closing them will suffice. Everything functions properly, the breakfast is satisfactory, and the staff does their best.

The best and worst thing about this hotel is its location. It is immediately across from the harbor and, as a result, is very loud, late into the night. However, it is convenient to all the attractions, restaurants, and shops one can imagine. The staff are attentive and speak multiple languages. Our room was larger than expected and beautifully appointed, but there is no individual thermostat for the room so it was quite warm. The best surprise was the lavish breakfast, with fresh fruit, many pastries, eggs, breakfast meats, antipasti and much more. Very non-traditional for Italy but delicious!
