Atika Villas

I would like to aware everyone who thinks of staying at Atika Villas Phuket! The host is big cheater! His name is John. I hope my story will help others avoid the same issue.
We book villa for 4 days and got the confirmation email that villa is available for these dates and asking to pay whole amount to reserve. So we did so immediately. Homeaway send us email that reservation is confirmed. On the day of our flight to Thailand we received email from John apologized and said that reservation has been cancelled as our villa - villa 5, been given to other 6 people and he is ready to offer us villa 3 with a better rate and plus discount to apologize for inconvenience and difference of money will be returned to us. Villa 3 was not fron sea view and we didn't wish to stay there so we send reply that we need only villa 5 or please return all money back. The reply didn't come. As we had no time to search anymore we decided to clear everything out on our arrival. We arrived at 11 to villa and asked to see John. Villa 5 was still empty, so we went inside villa and was waiting for John. Than Manager of Villa came Thany and she said that John is living in UK and we can communicate with him only vie emails. I explained her the situation and i told her that we didn't receive any confirmation email saying that money will be returned to us. She said that villa 5 is still emty but today thay expect 6 people to arrive and they can not rent it to us. Sure I was angry for whole situation and I told them I will not leave untill I speak to John. Finally they gave me his number and I called him. On the phone he was very polite he explained thAt this issue happend as he received late confirmation from Homeaway about our payment and by this time he already book this villa for someone else, and we wish to stay at villa 3 he can give good discount and return difference of money back and if we don't wish to stay at villa 3 than he can return all our money back. So I told him that villa 3 is not good for us and we will go to search for a better place but before I want from him email about the same, so our agreement will not be verbal. He said its fine. Withing 10 min he send to us and CC to Homeaway that he is ready to give all money back if we not happy with changes but money still not with him its with Homeaway. So after the email we went to see places and we found great villa for better price better location and view. We checked in there and at 2:30 same day we got an email from John saying that villa 5 is ready for us if we want to come. We reply that we already checked in somewhere else as he confirmed that villa 5 booked for someone else. And the reply was shocking. He said- you arrived just before check in time and I told you that someone else is still there but by check in time we prepared villa for you so you can check in. I send him copy of his email thinking that he is really mixed up, but no he knew exactly what he is doing - he said that if we not going to come and check in he will deduct from us cancellation money. Thanks God I screen shot all of our conversations before and after and I send it all to Homeaway. When I contacted Homeaway they told me that they saw that email in the morning but later on John send them another email saying that he cleaned and prepared villa for us and move other people to villa 3 but we cancelled our reservations and he is asking them to deduct from us for this. But I had all my conversations copied with John and I send it to Homeaway, they were really angry with Host "game" and they apologized for what we had to face and returned all our money back. But if I had no email or copies of my conversation I would lose my money for nothing. Please everyone be aware!

Nice place with beautiful scenery BUT bad or maybe worse expirience. Already have a deal about price for the room but in the end they charge us for the electricity bills we used for 4 days. There is no agreement before but they hold our deposit of 60,000 baht and insist to deduct it for 10,000 baht. If we dont accept the charges they wont give our deposit money back.
BECAREFUL BEFORE YOU RENT THIS PLACE. It is a huge disappointment for us!!

WARNING- this Villa is run by crooks!!

The villa I am writing in reference to is 29/8 Atika Villas , Muean Ngan Road, Patong
This villa is Not worth ANY stars at all
Do NOT book this villa if you want a peaceful relaxing holiday !!! 29/8 Atika Villas , Muean Ngan Road, Patong is owned by a thiefing company! Me and my friends were there and were asked by 3 separate individuals ( 1 an ? Agent of Thailand Holiday Homes, 1 from Atika Villas and a cleaner from Atika Villas company for $20000 baht deposit !! When we kindly try to clarify and ask the various parties to be present for a joint meeting at THEIR convenience so we can pay the deposit in front of everyone we were rudely turned down by the management and when we request to talk to the owner the owner aka Peter - he told us he think customers views are a load of rubbish and he THREATEN he have friends with the police who will get rid of us. Me and my friends left a night before our stay was due and NO direct refund option was given. They also charged us ridiculously high electricity bills when we left.

As well as the greedy and rude management , the villa is situated on a very steep hill and you can be prepared to spend most of your holiday negotiating with drivers to take you to the beach or mall and to beg drivers to take you back to the villa as it is geographically extremely inconvenient.

DO not be fooled by the decor or the descriptions from their website. One of their “bedrooms” is actually located in a real life stuffy dungeon below the swimming pool. I researched them and it turns out this villa and it’s management are notorious for their cheating and rude behavior and basically repeatedly changed their names due to extremely poor reviews- latest name “ seductive sunset villa”. There are many statues and pictures of Buddha in the villa and the owner and management has probably earned themselves as much bad karma as the money they have cheated from our trip and from past travelers.

There is NOTHING seductive or good about this villa and I would not even recommend my worse enemy to go to this villa for holiday.

Hope this review find you in time and no one repeat the mistake I have made in choosing this villa, ruining what could have been a great holiday.
