Reviews
The rooms with the sea view are amazing.
The buffets are great, you just have to be on time or you miss out, because people love to stack on food and leave it on their plates.
I enjoyed the walks but if you have bad knees, are a bit older or in a wheelchair this is not the place for you as the way up from the bay is quite steep.
Overall a great experience.
People all very helpful and great.
Kids enjoyed all the various activities. (Note the big double flume requires you to be over 12, over a certain height and also over 50kg. Which is quite big for a kid!)
Food great, especially the a la cart places during the day and at night.
Rooms a little dated, but worked perfectly for us.
to both do at ages 10 and 14. My 14 year old was entertained with the animation team and my 10 year old loved the pools. They also felt safe to get their own drinks and food without supervision and I felt it was safe for them to do so. My 14 year old also made lots of friends and went around the resort with them a lot of them time too.
The rooms were great and very spacious. I do think we had a free upgrade as I'm pretty sure we booked the 1 bedroom room on bottom floor but we were given a 2 bedroomed room on top floor, which was great and perfect for us
Food was great at lunchtime in the panorama and beach bars, however wasn't impressed with the buffet. There were lots of different foods and I did try lots but the food was only lukewarm but none of us had bad stomachs etc so not a major thing. It was very busy, sometimes we struggled to get a table, and when we did, it usually had plates on and dirty but the staff do work really hard to keep up. There's just not enough of them for how busy it is. We had 1 a la cart, at the Italian and food and views were beautiful.
The cocktails in the sunset bar , especially the man working at the outdoor bar, Emre, I think, is amazing!! He works very hard, not only does he make them but he brings them to your table, hes amazing and makes the best cocktails in the resort. The views here of the sunset are amazing too.
We also had a family turkish bath experience at the spa and was a good price which was booked in by one of the staff whilst we were at the pool which is a cheaper way to book rather than in the spa. We all enjoyed it. I also went back a few days later and had a back massage which was amazing too.
The hotel is beautiful and in a stunning location. We all really enjoyed our 1st holiday to Turkey and we will definitely be back.
However, my experience was significantly marred by persistent hygiene problems that disrupted my stay daily.
Hygiene and Cleanliness Issues
Housekeeping often missed replacing towels after cleaning, requiring me to call reception each time. The corridors were cluttered with cleaning carts and vacuum cleaners throughout the day, with carts filled with garbage and dirty towels—a constant inconvenience and unpleasant start to our days.
The most disturbing hygiene issues were in the dining areas. I observed staff placing dropped food back into serving dishes, which is unacceptable. Tableware was frequently unclean; finding a fish bone in my beer glass that initially appeared to be something else was particularly disturbing. At the ice cream station, the server did not wear gloves or use napkins, handling waffles directly with visibly dirty, long nails. Each time, I ended up discarding the waffle due to this unhygienic practice.
These ongoing hygiene lapses made dining an unsettling experience and significantly affected our ability to enjoy meals.
Staff and Communication
Communication with the staff was challenging due to their lack of interest. Upon arrival, we received no introduction to the hotel’s facilities and had to seek out information ourselves, setting a concerning tone for the rest of our stay.
Food and Dining
The dining options heavily favored meat dishes, with little consideration for vegetarians or vegans. Dishes were not labeled, and vegetarian options were limited. The quality of the food was disappointing, with tough beef and overly hard fish. Vegetables were unappealing, often showing residue of dust or pesticides.
Some staff members displayed a lack of professionalism, openly calling each other names in front of guests. Misrepresentation occurred when I requested a diet soda due to dietary restrictions and was served a mixture of regular soda and soda water without being informed, which could have serious health implications, especially for someone managing diabetes.
Conclusion
Despite the beautiful location and potential of Pine Bay, the persistent hygiene issues and poor service significantly detracted from my stay. The daily disturbances from unhygienic conditions and staff shortcomings made it impossible to relax and enjoy my vacation. I do not feel that the hotel provided value for the money I paid.
1. The staff are absolutely wonderful. They cannot do enough for you. Whether it’s getting you drinks or food, they are wonderful. Tip them, they deserve it.
2. The resort is fantastic. It has everything you need. Anyone that complains that things are “too far of a walk” or “it’s too hilly” they are being unnecessarily critical. The resort is safe and it’s a perfect size.
3. I have read that the rooms are “outdated”. The rooms are perfect. They have air con, a safe, are clean, secure and all the things that you would expect from a room. If you’re spending time in your room anyway, just don’t bother going on holidays!
4. Pools/ water park is absolutely stunning. Suited for any age. Pools are so clean and staff around them are so helpful.
5. Restaurants are so good. Buffet every night. I read reviews here from people saying they were hungry, they lied. There was so much food!! And dessert!!! I loved trying the Turkish cuisine - so many options.
6. The spa was unreal. Definitely visit it, 10/10!!
This resort is a 10/10. I was nervous visiting Turkey but all my fears were put aside because of this resort. Everyone was fantastic. The place was so safe and clean. The bad reviews actually haven’t a clue, they should have stayed at home!!
Thank you Pine Bay for an unforgettable holiday.
