Reviews
Lovely hotel, although not 5*. Rooms are a good size, but are very dark. Air conditioning is very noisy and I believe it's centrally controlled. Beds are enormous and very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Although it wasn't needed the quilt only just about covered the bed. Could have used just a sheet. Bathroom very nice with a good shower and had dressing gowns and slippers. Plenty of variety in the restaurant, although food was often only warm. 18 + area in restaurant was often full.
Swimming pools usual problem of reserving sun beds. You needed to get there before 9am to stand any chance of getting a bed on the sunny side. Plenty of beds that were in the shade for majority of the day. Pools were also cold, but nice once you're in.
Beach. Nice boat trip which runs throughout the day, but is overall a little disappointing. Plenty of sunbeds with umbrellas, semi covered seating area for drinks and food which was burgers, deep fried chicken, salad and kebabs. Next to the beach was a very run down area which was not nice to look at. Beach is sandy, but getting into the sea is shingle and there is a shelf when getting in, so would need to be careful with young children.
Entertainment. Was really geared up for families, although the singers in the pool bar in the evening were okay, but it was difficult getting seats.
Area. Nothing to do outside the hotel, you need to get a bus or taxi into main strip. Buses only take card payments, but are cheap. Once on the strip there are plenty of fake goods to purchase.
Overall if I was a family I would recommend this hotel as plenty to do for children, but as a couple in their 60s expecting a quiet holiday with not many kids (as kids were not on school holidays in England) but they were in Scotland, Russia, Poland and lots of other countries. Too many kids for us and will book adults hotel only next time.
I was mislead by the name being trendy Lara however it was quite a way from Lara beach itself although they had their own private beach accessible via free boats the beach there isnt the best gravel beach not really much there quiet and feels very remote.
The staff are amazing, very friendly. A tip here and there works wonders, even better service!
The pool area is great, see below re: private pool area.
There's a little boat with a Captain who ferries you to the hotel's own private beach, where the all inclusive bar and snacks carry on.
Be wary of high temperatures though in the summer (45°C+), however you can manage this with cool drinks and a dip in the pool or sea
The sea was lovely, but the floor drops steeply so make sure little ones are secure.
Overall, a great place to stay in Lara Beach.
Although the hotel offers 6 different restaurants at this place which you must pay extra fees starting from 15 Euros per person. However their capacity is so limited and usually full booked when you arrive.
The service was impeccable, with friendly staff we had everything we needed. We're already looking forward to returning next year to relive this amazing experience!
We do not recommend the holiday here. Our kids (3 kids) were hospitalized due to bacterial infection and the rest of the kids (3 kids) and 1 adult were hospitalized for 1/2 day. When we informed the hotel that there is bacterial infection, no reaction from their side. Just nothing, they just took our room's numbers. Btw, British family which was on the same floor had the similar problems, their daughter had salmonella. She was hospitalized at the same time - so we were not alone..
Location: bad, far away from everything, this hotel is the last one in Lara
Food - good, wide range of food, which may seem to be impressive but be careful about the quality, the problems may come from the cakes/eggs
Beach - forgotten place, no activity here, bar with very limited food for 3.5 hours, beds are far away - you expect different service from 5* hotel - keep in mind that you need to go there by boat
Pools: many, with a lot of people - the foam party is in the pools - you can imagine the quality of the water then.
Rooms: quite big, but the furniture is old. We felt the smell on the rooms (from the toilets), rooms are not cleaned very well - the new sheets (after the cleaning) were with the dry urine/blood - the staff changed it after the request, but it is not allowed in 5* hotel - and in consideration with our health problems, we are just wondering about the source of the bacteria
Bars: on the beach - terrible as I wrote, in the pool area - you can find bars
Water sports: to use it, the operator will take you with very old minibus to the city (close to Dolphin Imperial hotel) which is 15-20 minutes, the driver is waiting for you
Food has really good quality. My stomach can detect any abnormality 😉 and for the first time all was good! Taste is specific to Turkey (some people loves it some not really, but then why to go to Turkey 😜). Turkish food was nice. Other kitchens requires improvement.
Beach: we love the way we could go there by boat. Sand is quite clean, water is very clean and warm, however neighborhood (some fishing village, I think), brings quite discomfort for us to stay longer over there.
Best part: staff is super friendly and will spoil on every step. Hotel area is super nice. Pools are clean and water has little to none chlorine smell. Evening events are spectacular!
Worst part: I got sick and I was prescribed some antibiotics and painkillers by city hospital. S**t happens and it is nothing to blame hotel, but… one I came back from the hospital initially there was little compassion and willing to help from the reception with getting my medicines. Things has changed once my wife was seeing me fainting, she had to run to reception to beg for a help. I don’t know if initially someone at reception was not trained enough or that was a hotel policy to not to help people who didn’t used hotel doctor 🙁 This was really heartbreaking situation for me and my family.
My conclusion is if you feel lucky with your health then you should go there, otherwise there are plenty as nice hotels in the EU.
Always something to do, but also always somewhere to relax.
The food variety and quality is excellent.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel is amazing.
Not my first time here, and certainly won't be the last. Here this time to relax and recuperate from a painful illness, and believe me, relaxing here is easy as the staff are so helpful and happy
The private beach is located at the other side of the river and is accessible with a own private little ferry. It took us a few days to find this gem but it was worth it.
