Reviews
House keeping are very good, they came everyday and the room was cleaned to a good standard.
Our bathroom was a lot smaller than shown in the pictures for the hotel but the shower head leaked, we reported this but nothing was done. Also to get a warm shower you had to turn the shower tap towards the cold, same with the sink tap.
All of this we could of lived with but the food was awfull. We reported to the staff several times that the food was cold. We were told once that the food temperatures are monitored regularly. On day five I ended up stuck in my room due to stomach pain, vomiting and stomach upset for three days. My wife had the same illness for two days. We reported this to reception and again were told the food temperatures were monitored and brushed us aside. Other guests told us they had the same illness and they believed it was to do with the food also. We also heard of a wedding party of just over forty guests and that apparently approximately 30 of them had became ill due to food. We did see a lady in a whit uniform collecting food and putting it in plastic containers and took it away. I do not know if this was linked to that or not.
I know my wife and I illness was due to the food there. I say this as we only ate at the hotel as our budget didn't allow for us to eat out. Therefore I spent the remainder of our holiday there eating pot noodles bought from the little shop just outside the hotel's reception!!
Ali the barman and Gordon were very nice.
We will never return to this hotel again. I will be registering a complaint with our holiday provider. Such a shame as this hotel could be truly amazing with just a few changes and a lot more attention to the food.
Some parts of the hotel felt a bit tired in places and will be worth seeing the large scale update happening now across the resort.
Some great attentive staff Gordon the customer services mgt & bar man ( & trainee cocktail maker..😀). Gullu in the restaurant always has a smile and nothing is too much trouble. Looked after us brilliantly..
We would love to return…
We are again next year there. THANK you for the beautiful and relaxing holiday.
There is also a Lift is available but isn't always directly in front of the door. The food, at the beginning of may 2015, was simple but always fresh and very tasty. This Hotel is to Recommend to nature lovers and people who like peace and quiet. Shopping and entertainment possibilities is approx. 10 min. to within walking foot. On request but also called a dolmus.
Arrived with my dad yesterday and hopefully moving hotels tomorrow as this is not worth £1400. Was told we would have a twin room and was given a double bed with a small chair in the corner. The chair is foldable into a single bed. No bedding was provided for this foldable chair so have been given an awful fold up bed on wheels.
No main lighting, just lampshades so it’s very dim. No lampshades near the single bed so can’t read. Wifi doesn’t stretch to the room so spending loads to roam. Six other families who arrived last night have also asked to be moved!!!!
Food isn’t labelled and is terribly basic - nuggets, chips etc. No milk alternatives either! Everything is self service, even the knifes and forks.
The location and weather is 10/10 but this is literally a backpackers hostel. I’d go here if I didn’t pay much.
Staff aren’t in uniform so don’t know who is who - none of them have said hi or been friendly. Wasn’t told where anything was when we arrived, we were just handed the key and handed a baguette for ‘dinner’.
Lighting around our apartment is awful so can’t see the stairs. It’s just an accident waiting to happen.
Also bought a snorkel from the shop today, realised it was broken and the staff member wouldn’t let me exchange it!!!!!????
I’m sure this hotel would be fine for a couple if you don’t have any physical problems (lots of complaints about steps from people also asking to be moved) as the room is OK (ish). But you’d have to have a very bland diet if you actually like the food.
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s not that hard to do good customer service and so far I’m so disappointed in everything.
New management need to take over ASAP!
Great location that a resort can be with the famous “Oludeniz” view.
Hard working kitchen staff.
I have to mention the Food and Beverage Manager “Esref” who is the biggest asset to Meri Hotel.
Negative points:
Very poor Wi-Fi.
There is a phone in the room but does not work.
They don’t provide a second key although I was promised to receive three days in a row, unfortunately they did not provide one because they had to make a new one! They still have metal keys!
Front desk employees are awful and don’t know how to talk with the guests. For those employees, front desk is the last position to work. The employee by the name of “Onur” does not deserve that position and continues to harm his employer any day he works there.
Unqualified, untrained and inexperienced housekeeping, front desk and bar attendants.
