DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta North Druid Hills/Emory Area

The front desk service was good and the location is okay (minus the current construction going on all around). However, the rooms were quite noisy and you could hear absolutely everything from the bathroom, the hallway, and even outside. It was very difficult to sleep without something to drown out the exterior sounds. I also didn't expect to get a knock on the door for housekeeping over an hour before checkout. So be sure to lock every lock, if you can (one of the locks in our room didn't latch).

The hotel's location looks to be on the rougher side of town in my opinion. I'm not from the Atlanta area of GA, so i'm not too familiar with it. It looks great on the outside and in the lobby. But when you get upstairs to the rooms, it looks kind of creepy. There is not great lighting, some of the room doors have stains on them, and the ceiling has stains on it. My room was on the 8th floor. Also, my toilet wouldn't flush and my microwave in my room did not work. The shower was dirty, so was my toilet, and there was a stain on my bathroom floor. With all that said, their breakfast was delicious. It was not free. I selected the reservation rate that included breakfast. You'll receive a voucher which covers the cost, but be mindful that does not include gratuity. You'll be given a bill to cover that cost as you're dining. Overall, I was expecting this hotel to be a lot nicer. From the looks of the building on the outside, I was expecting more.

Rooms were outdated and dirty.Looks nothing like what the picture shows. Sheets were dirty. Air conditioning didn’t work. Staff said to put on “cool” but the temperature continued to rise. There was no lotion or soap in the bathroom. Shower head was leaking. Toilet kept running. They also ran out of towels. Alerted staff for all and nobody came. People outside the lobby but still on hotel property were loud and nosy.

Just because I cannot give 0 star. Horrible experience. Front staff is horrible. Made my stay miserable. I left the hotel the second day. Sylvia at the front was the worst person ever. She was rude during check in. she kept calling me sweetie pretending to be cute but she just made it look so cheap. I hope I never get to stay at this hotel again. I will never recommend this hotel to my coworkers or family friends. It is just ghetto...
