DoubleTree by Hilton North Druid Hills/Emory Area Mini-hotel

I arrived at around 8:30, checked in, and tried to use the microwave to prepare dinner for the kids, but the start button wouldn't work, so I called the front desk. But they just told me to wait... I waited for 30-40 minutes, but they didn't come, so I called them. When that didn't work, I went to the front desk again, and they said they went to another room and would come back right away after work, so I went to the room and waited. After waiting for an hour and a half, I finally got dinner for the kids. But they didn't come that day. Since it was a 2-night stay, I asked the front desk again the next morning when I was going out, and when I came back in the evening, it had been fixed. However, my deposit was canceled when I checked out, but a larger amount was charged again. I sent an email to the hotel and waited, and it was finally canceled again. For breakfast, I didn't use disposable plates and ate rice on real plates for the first time in a while. I like that there's a McDonald's right next to the hotel. I came up from Midtown to stay here because it's a 4-star hotel. The rooms are spacious, the facilities are clean, and it's nice. The staff were friendly, but I would have had better memories if it weren't for the microwave issue. It's a shame.

Clean, spacious and tidy. I will stay here again next time.

From Gary's recommendation for dinner to Kory's checking to ensure all was well to the fabulous Monique's over and above courtesies, the people are the best part of this hotel.

The room smelled faintly of cigarette smoke, the halls faintly of pot, and the noise from the interstate was pretty loud. We did not complain, because it wasn't a huge deal for one night, so the property did not have opportunity to move us to a different room. Had we complained, I'm sure they would have accommodated us.

But the staff was the best! Kudos again to Gary, Kory, and Monique.

A very cost-effective hotel, worth recommending. Just ask the front desk not to get a room close to the highway when checking in. Everything else is OK!
