Reviews
The reception seems relatively new; I get the feeling that someone different is being trained every day and has relatively little idea what to do.
Our room was large and clean, but the amenities were a disaster. The air conditioning was EXTREMELY loud and didn't cool at all. Three hours on full power made a difference of just two degrees. The toilet didn't flush, and you had to open the cistern and flush it manually.
Also, no one informed us that room service only comes to your room if you specifically request it.
We stayed in eight hotels on this trip, but this was by far the worst experience.
At any rate! The public spaces were really cool, stylish and modern. We really loved the bar, and the bartender was super awesome!!
The location is absolutely perfect, close to U-Street bars and restaurants, and DuPont Circle is a short walk. We were able to easily find scooters to travel to and from the National Mall, but also Ubers were actually pretty cheap and quick!
The rooms were very spacious also. The finishes of the rooms are showing their wear and age; but definitely very clean!
And, every single person we interacted with, was incredibly friendly and welcoming! We stayed for my birthday and there was a bottle of wine waiting in our room - so fabulous!
Overall the best place to stay for its quality, value, and location.
Upon checking in, I made sure to ask the front desk about the bed, and they assured me it would be taken care of. However, despite following up multiple times, the bed was never delivered. I returned to my room at 1 AM on Friday, expecting the bed to be there as my friend was about to arrive, only to find that nothing had been done.
When I called the reception again, I was told that there were no notes from previous staff about my request, and they claimed there was nothing they could do at that hour.
Ultimately, I paid nearly $1,000 for this stay, gave my bed to my friend, and ended up sleeping on the floor with a blanket.
For a four-star hotel, this level of service is simply unacceptable and unprofessional. I expected far better treatment and communication.
