Edit - tried to see the manager on Sunday, got told he will be in Monday morning, tried to see him on Monday, got told he is off till Tuesday.
To start with, we are two families with three kids and what rooms we were allotted? 311 and 812. Like no sense of trying to keep families together.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. A tile literally fell off the ceiling in the bathroom right next to my wife while she was using it. We have a two-month-old baby with us—had it fallen a few inches differently, it could have seriously injured her or our child. When we reported it, the front desk simply said they’d “send in the engineer” and were “glad no one was hurt.” No apology, no sense of urgency, no responsibility taken. Completely unacceptable, especially for a stay that cost us nearly $2,000 for two rooms.
After spending the entire day out, we returned to find our room hadn’t been cleaned. The used towels were not picked up, the floor hadn’t been mopped, the trash was untouched, and the room smelled terrible—Trash in the bin and wet towels in the bathroom made it even worse. The engineer walked in after we left and taped the tiles to the ceiling back but the trash, the towels! Oh who cares for hospitality. When we called the front desk around 8 PM asking for clean towels, we were told there was no staff available to bring any. Their proposed compensation? Complimentary refreshments. How exactly is a cup of Keurig coffee supposed to solve hygiene and safety concerns?
To make things worse, the hotel restaurant doesn’t even deliver food to the room—so forget about relying on room service if you’re traveling with kids or just need to rest.
The location itself is great, but this hotel is completely unworthy of it. Did I mention it takes 3-4 hours before the AC actually gets to 75?
Do yourself a favor and book at one of the other nearby hotels. This property lacks basic service standards, safety protocols, and guest care. We won’t be staying here again, and we suggest others think twice before doing so either.

First, the location is PERFECT. Many wonderful places to eat & sights to see are within a walking distance. It was also very safe!
Honestly you need to worry more about the drivers than anything else (but honestly what else do you expect while in Maryland, LOL). My boyfriend and I even walked around late night (around midnight) for food and still felt relatively safe. We were also pleasantly surprised by how active the area still is at night. People were out and about walking, getting food and just doing whatever. I loved that.
Second, this hotel is so pleasing to the eyes. The décor is so warm and welcoming with touches of classy everywhere. Our hotel room was perfect. The room was completely clean and spacious, I was grateful for the mini fridge, the bathroom was wonderful, the bed was comfy, I loved the extended space in the room that had its own section with chairs and a tv.. just amazing.
The staff was extremely friendly! I loved the food vouchers for the hotel's restaurant that we were given for each day. The food was also EXCELLENT. The food was on the pricey side, but I guess that is to be expected for a fancy restaurant to begin with and at least the food was delicious and the voucher was enough to cover something.
Our server was so sweet, engaged in conversation with us about multiple things and gave us pointers on where we could go in the area.
This hotel was everything you could want and more in a hotel in terms of location, service, cleanliness and quality.
This hotel will always be my go to for whenever I'm back in DC for as long as it keeps this up.
