Wonderful hostel! I read some of the comment and couldn’t disagree more.
The staff is super nice; the kitchen is big enough; the room is quiet and comfortable; the location is ideal (right in front of a tram stop) and if you want to walk, you’re already in the heart of Sydney with plenty of restaurants and shops. Also it’s very clean. I’ve been to MANY hostels across Australia and I’m very happy to finish my travel in such a nice place.

The price is unreasonably cheap for the location. We got a private room as a group of 3 for just ~$100. Room just contained a double bed for 3 people and a few power sockets.
Free breakfast was provided with milk, bread, spreads, cereal. Shared kitchen was pretty lively and has enough equipment to cook if you want to, and a microwave to heat up food. There's a supermarket nearby

Well I once tried to get accommodation in this establishment. About 10 years ago soon after I arrived in Sydney because my situation was rather dire. I was well into my late 50's age wise. I just felt very uncomfortable even considering accommodation there at the time. And also the appropriate price range did not seem in my favour. Sharing dormitory style conditions would not suit me. I have heard a lot of good rumours about the place, but they are young people, and young people like to experience hardship even if they do not have to. Basically just another experience in life.

just stayed here for 3 nights private room honest review. room and bathrooms clean but room had a funny smell maybe because windows didnt open. wifis good, air cons nice and cold working well, shower is hot and powerful, beds comfy. didnt use the kitchen so cant comment on that. staff are nice. not noisy only problem is thin curtains lets all light in however for what you pay everythings great. only a couple of minutes walk from central station and your right in the cbd. would stay here again

Great clean room lady asked if we needed a new room because of air conditioning issues which was great and considerate. Great location.
Not five stars due to the price... $40 a night is way too much. But alas such is life.

I had a great stay at this hostel! The location is super convenient, with a light rail station right next door and only a 3 to 5-minute walk from the central train station.
Plus, there are plenty of attractions nearby. The staff was friendly and always willing to give recommendations for things to do.
The free breakfast and Friday pizza night were a nice touch and made it easy to meet new friends. Highly recommend!

Best hostel in Sydney. Rooms are air conditioned which is an absolutely a must have in the Australian climate. I loved that the room was still dark at 9am, having no eyemask this was the best for a bit of a sleep in. The noise is also great, could hear the faintest of city noise but overall the quietest place I’ve stayed in. Directly outside a tram station, walked outside and immediately hopped on a tram to Circular Quay and Chinatown. Really competitive pricing for what you get, I will most definitely be staying here whenever I come back to Sydney.

Have stayed here a couple of times when I had to be in Sydney. Just a couple of streets from China Town and Paddies Market, and easy walking distance to everything else. But my very favourite part is the water pressure in the shower, even if you have to leave your room to use it.

Good location. Very central. Older building with older rooms but amenities were clean. I would stay again. The lift is crazy slow so we always took the stairs.

The rooms were good, but the kitchen was not. They are no windows so it is little bit seedy. We had our food stolen several times. On top of that before leaving we put our luggage in lockers, we paid 17$ just for 9 hours because the machine "bug"...
