Gold Lagoon Kosher Hotel

When we scheduled the vacation, we ignored a bad reaction (and there were quite a few)
We said exaggerating Israelis
Well - they are not!!!
The lobby looks like a hostel - old sofas and peeling walls
Rooms with a view of construction sites and grass
When we asked to change they refused
Elevators every minute get stuck and flooded
A bad smell throughout the hotel, a floor that is always wet to the point of slipping, the corridors are dark as if the place is abandoned
Bathrooms without locks (you'll have to hope they don't break into you in the middle of a bath)
We asked for additional towels and did not receive any
And let's not start talking about the food
Tsharon's food at a higher level
Half of the food is spoiled
All the food is cold and dry, bland and tasteless
Abnormal density
The hotel is divided into kosher and non-kosher. We expected to eat in the main dining room which looked normal but it turns out that those who want to eat kosher have to go down to the basement where there is a dining room that resembles a prison dining room
like second class tourists
While the main dining room is empty all the kosher eaters have to crowd down like sardines to get the daily portion
We will not make such a mistake again. We will not return here!!!

The hotel itself is the Amphora Hotel and it was simply great, the staff is nice, the rooms are beautiful and clean, the pool is excellent, everything is really perfect, a 100/100 hotel, the problem starts with the food provided by the Gold Lagoon, which is simply inedible, the variety is poor, and it is simply unpalatable, and the sandwiches they promised on the website that we could take away, at first, were not brought to us Only after I made a mess did they agree to give us cling film that we could prepare and pack them, and the supervisor on the face his attitude, in short the dining room which is the only thing that is "Gold Lagoon" in this place is simply shocking

Please note: a serious problem in supervising kashrut.
After for several months I contacted three different parties who have a connection to the place and I did not receive any satisfactory explanation, I am simply publishing the letter I sent them.

We were booked by us on your website for two nights at the Gold Lagoon Hotel in Paphos between 17.11 and 19.11. Before booking, we called the Israeli phone number listed on the website to ask what the difference between the 2 hotels is. We were told that both are pretty much the same and both have breakfast and dinner as well as a tea/coffee corner during the day. We chose a hotel that was closer to the airport and the guest feedback for it was better. Well, we definitely enjoyed the Amphora hotel itself, but the kosher resort was booked mainly for the meals and in this section we were very disappointed.
When we arrived in the dining room the first evening we discovered that there were no other guests besides him. Since we cannot trust the local cook and waiters, we asked them to speak with the kosher supervisor, but we were amazed to discover that not only was no one present, but he had already left the hotel many days ago. It is hard to describe the unpleasant feeling when you suddenly discover that the vacation you were looking forward to so much will not be as you dreamed. We contacted you via WhatsApp, but the connection was disconnected and we received no reply. After waiting, we received an offer from the local cook to go eat at the other hotel. We had a rental car in our possession, we arrived at the Blue Lagoon, where they welcomed us. We understood that without getting there we would be left without meals for two days and had no choice but to continue coming later. Needless to say how different the vacation is when you go straight from the room/beach to eat in the dining room Because you always have a 15-minute drive in each direction. When preparing for vacation, we looked into the option of renting a hotel room without meals and dining at the local Beit Chabad (something that would have saved us a lot of money), but we ruled it out precisely because of the inconvenience of running from place to place. Finally, this What we got and paid for was twice as much.Plus we missed breakfast on the last day because we were supposed to be at the airport at 8:30 and couldn't be pressured to drive back and forth to have time to eat.
There is no doubt that if we had only received news that there was no supervision at the hotel, we would have had no problem changing the reservation to BLUE LAGOON, there were vacancies there as well, but no one bothered to inform us of this. Of course, we didn't win an adjacent tea/coffee corner either.
Another thing that amazed us was the complete lack of attention on your part in the two days we were there - as I mentioned, we no longer received any Bootstrap response, and although we also searched at BLUE LAGOON we did not find a responsible person, while we were there the office was closed all the time.
We talked to the cook at BLUE LAGOON and he tried to explain to us that he also sends food to our hotel and sometimes even comes there himself to prepare it, but it is clear beyond any doubt that there is no permission to eat in such a place without supervision. The local waiter and cook were nice, but there is no way to trust them to keep an eye on kosher, especially since they have a kitchen full of prey food nearby and in any shortage they probably won't hesitate to take what they need to our table as well. I can't say that they tried to serve us non-kosher food (although that was certainly our feeling on the first evening), but no rabbi, even one who makes it easy, would allow unsupervised eating inside a non-kosher hotel.
It is appropriate and even mandatory to warn the hotel guests during this period that there is a serious problem with the supervision, it is very useful to do this in advance so that they can change the reservation to the other hotel.
