Reviews
We had b and b. Breakfast was varied, lots of choice. Dedicated omelette cook.
Location is key for this hotel. There is direct access to the beach and we enjoyed walking along the harbour parade in the morning and evening. Buses were close by and only 2euros a fare. We used them to go up to the Tombs of the King's, then walked back. A large archaeological park is in the harbour, only 4 euros 50, and we walked back along the coastal path.
There was music in the hotel a couple of evenings. We enjoyed our sea view (more of the pool), terrace room. Would definitely go back.
However, there aren't enough sun loungers and the last thing I wanted to do, or expected at a five star hotel, was to rush first thing in the morning to "reserve" loungers with a towel. This really ruined the experience for us, and we've never seen anything like it at other hotels in Cyprus.
The quality of staff was also inconsistent. Some, including the staff at reception and in the main hotel bar, were excellent - they were friendly, attentive and couldn't do more to help. We were especially pleased with our welcome, and for our room upgrade.
Unfortunately, other staff members were unfazed, and at times downright rude - I do not expect to hear 'no' when I ask for something (although another member of staff did apologise for that staff member's behaviour, that isn't really acceptable in a five-star hotel).
For those reasons, I regrettably probably wouldn't stay at Annabelle again. It's a shame, because I really wanted to like this hotel after reading such positive reviews and because of the hotel's reputation, but there are other hotels at a similar price point in the local area that are better.
We booked a few spa treatments, which were fabulous. If they don’t have availability they will book you in at the Almera next door their sister hotel. Which was just as fabulous.
There are 3 or 4 different swimming pools. But it’s a shame they don’t allow the children to play with any form of inflatables. Or if they seemed to play in the pools, the life guards would tell them off. Also would be nice if the pool with the bar was adult only. Was a bit frustrating to want a drink only to have children taking up all the chairs at the bar when there are plenty of other places for children.
But overall, every single member of staff we encountered were super friendly. Will definitely be returning.
Hotel with a large area so that even when the occupancy is full you don't feel it.
Large and comfortable rooms, very good level of maintenance and cleanliness.
The hotel has several swimming pools. A good breakfast with a variety of dishes with an emphasis on sensitivities such as gluten, lactose and vegetarian.
The service and kindness of the workers at the hotel was excellent, especially I would like to mention the receptionist Katrina who gave us professional, kind and understanding service!!!
I will definitely recommend the hotel to my friends.
Kids club is very good.
Overall, you can't go wrong.
We had the terrace sea-view room, the room was modern and had lovely views of the sea and a quiet pool area. The terrace area was a great size and it was nice to have your own private area. I only wish you could get pool bar service to the terrace!
The Service was excellent, the staff are helpful and friendly throughout the hotel.
Breakfast buffet is vast and lovely.
All general areas and rooms are spotless. The large pool areas and bar are relaxing and in beautiful surroundings.
Love this hotel, we are back again in September!
My recent stay at this luxurious hotel in a central location was a thoroughly relaxing experience. Boasting numerous pools and an abundance of sunbeds, it provides an idyllic setting for unwinding. Here’s a detailed account of my stay:
Accommodations and Service:
From the moment we arrived, we felt well cared for. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, contributing significantly to our enjoyable stay. Our side sea view room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-equipped. It featured a large, comfortable bed, a separate seating area, and a convenient coffee machine. The balcony was also generously sized, perfect for enjoying the scenic views. The housekeeping staff maintained high standards of cleanliness throughout our stay.
Facilities:
The hotel’s pools are sizable and surrounded by ample sunbeds, allowing plenty of space for relaxation. However, like many resorts, the practice of guests reserving sunbeds with towels for hours can be a bit frustrating, so early risers may fare better in securing their spots.
Location:
The hotel's location is excellent, with a short minute-long walk to the right leading to a lively harbour area filled with numerous bars and restaurants. To the left, there are a few more hotels, but the area is quieter and less developed. This balance provides both convenience and tranquility, depending on your preference.
Amenities:
A standout feature for families is the Baby Go Light service, which allowed us to pre-order essential baby items directly to our room, significantly easing our travel burden.
Dining:
The hotel boast numerous onsite bars and restaurants. We dinned at the the Italian Mediterraneo which faces the sea and offers a subtle twist on a classic Italian menu. While the breakfast offered a good selection, it remained the same every day, which became repetitive over the course of our stay. Additionally, the food and drink prices within the hotel are about double those of nearby bars and restaurants. The hotel’s policy of not allowing outside food or drink to be consumed on the premises does add to the cost, which may be a consideration for budget-conscious travellers.
Customer Service:
While most of the staff were friendly, we did encounter an unfortunate exception at checkout. The lady at the reception was not as welcoming or helpful as the rest of the team, which slightly marred the end of our stay.
Events and Activities:
The hotel hosts numerous private functions, such as weddings. During our stay, one such event resulted in the closure of half of the pool area for most of the day, despite the event not starting until the evening. This could be an issue during peak season when the hotel is busier, as it limits the available space for other guests.
Conclusion:
Overall, this hotel is a strong option for both families and couples looking for a luxurious stay in Paphos. If you can accommodate the higher on-site food and drink costs and the occasional inconvenience of private events, it offers a fantastic blend of comfort, service, and location. I would certainly consider staying here again, given the overall positive experience.
