Where to stay in Bad Schandau

I would not give the Hotel 5 stars. I would give it 3 stars based on the following observations. The breakfast buffet was simple, void of fresh fruit, fresh juice, and the eggs boiled hard. The wood flooring adjoining the balcony door was damaged, split, and flaking. The remote speaker in the bathroom didn’t function and the Kneipp foot bath in the courtyard was filthy and not functional. No Concierge...

Had a great week here. Staff handled Corona rules & restrictions very well, despite some irritating, ignorant guests who didn't seem to get it. Excellent room and the food was great that we had for breakfast lunch and dinner! Our company had a conference here and everyone treated us great that worked at the hotel.

Wonderful place with great staff and surroundings. However, internet connection is horrible and there are extra charges for many things. Can be 3 or 5 stars depending on your preferences.

I was there with my son for a weekend last summer. The staff is super nice, very helpful (I am blind) and on request also tips on excursions, hiking trails and so on. The hotel is very clean and the food tastes delicious too. Even a massage we could treat ourselves on Sunday, which was very relaxing. We can only recommend this hotel and look forward to returning again.

Beauty area was too nice. We had a pure romance arrangement, which I highly recommend. Very comfortable beds, and the restaurant attached to the hotel was great! Perfect way to relax and recuperate after a day of hiking

Great Hotel, very clean and tidy. Good Breakfast, particularly popular are the egg salad and the honey. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi worked almost at all, in the present time (and in the already poor network in the Saxon Switzerland). Apart from that, I can recommend the Hotel without reservation.

The room was nice and bright. We had skylights over our bed. It was a bit loud the first night due to a rowdy wedding but overall pretty relaxed. Breakfast was great, everything you'd expect at a German breakfast from the nice breads meat and cheeses to birchermüsli, jams, eggs, etc. Their restaurant was closed but the restaurant zur Eich was a 3 minute walk away. Very close to the Elba and ferry.

The Erbgericht in Krippen is a very nice village-like embossed guest house with Hotel and nice amenities. The offers also include Wellness packages, which we have not taken yet. Beautiful rooms and a very good Breakfast. Also the price of the 4 star Standard adequately. Who would like to have it easier and a little cheaper, you can also use the other offers of the group. Only rating the restaurant which is amazing. Waiters are particularly friendly. The food is local and seasonal and absolutely fantastic

Really good food and very attentive service. Difficult to get into in these Corona times. One of the few restaurants to serve Krusovice beer, which is excellent.

Rooms are a bit outdated, but otherwise a very clean, comfy and welcoming place. The breakfast offers a huge choice and the dinner is very tasty although a tad expensive. We really liked option to book a private sauna.

Rooms are not super modern, but service and people working there are very welcoming, specially when you arrive late and would like something to eat. And they serve delicious food! Located close by the road but it is not distracting for the night sleep. Small cozy river can be heard from the room and the wind in the trees.

've met a more upmarket cosy and clean Hotel with very correct occurring staff and good kitchen. Salmon was tasty. The chief of the old school welcomes ever like to self-host.

Nice hotel in a perfect environment for a hiking vacation with a confortable stay (+sauna!). The staff was nice and accomodating.

We attended the Christmas night ballroom dance and had a lovely time. The ballroom is beautiful and has a really nice floor. The music was good. We discovered dance by chance and went because we were staying nearby. We will be going back next Christmas. Update we have been coming every year for the dance except during covid.

food was average but I give 4 stars mainly because of waiters which were generally quite nice and normal. I found it to be an exception in the area of Sachsische Schweiz

Hotel with a pleasant atmosphere, beautiful, spacious garden, pool and located directly on the Elbe.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Easy to find as property is on the main road. Be aware of over speeding. Speed camera is in the yard of the hotel. It is beautiful and there is a great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. They have a variety of dishes you can choose from and they taste amazing. The rooms are cozy and bright. They all have balconies.

The property is immaculately maintained, comfortable, airy and spacious and has everything you would need away from home.

A well run establishment, neat comfortable well equipped apartments with state of the art facilities. Enjoyed very satisfying breakfasts in the restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Wonderful views. The staff are beyond friendly and professional. The rooms are tip-top and Jessica is the most beautiful woman in all of Germany. This is the place to choose for a short stay or a long stay. If we ever come back to Bad Schandau we would 100% stay here again.

Room was okay and had a bath (The Walkers Delight). Breakfast was fine. Dinner menu was a bit basic and waiter wasn't very helpful with our lack of German. Nice terrace for a beer, which was the usual selection for the area. Would it kill them to get a few IPAs in 😉

We had an outstanding weekend at hotel Steiger in sebnitz. The staff was friendly and helpful, the spa was very clean an beautiful with lots of pretty details and a steamroom. The breakfast buffet was Plenty, with ordinary, various food like little omlettes and "Arme Ritter". We would stay at this hotel again for sure.

Great rooms, each decorated according to a theme. We were in London. It was a pity that the Spa is only 14 years.

Very nice Hotel, the to-be-missed his claim to be a Small Grand hotel, however, clear. Of note is the new and very beautiful Spa. Otherwise, there is a lot of Kitsch and frills. The food is mediocre. For the offered prices are too high overall.

The location was suitable for my itinerary along the Malerweg. There was a bar, the room was warm and cosy. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great - so much choice and all fresh ingredients.

Check in and check-out were smooth. The buffet breakfast was of high quality with fresh bread and eggs and cold cuts amongst other things. The wifi was reliable and reasonably fast. The facilities were clean and comfortable. Plenty of space to hang out with friends too. Would definitely stay again.

The Hotel is basic mill is a small, owner-run family hotel. The operator-married couple is very friendly and helpful, for example when planning a route for a hike through the Saxon Switzerland. A small Highlight is the Breakfast buffet, which is not a supermarket product, but with many local specialities, includes.

My husband and I have joined in the Hotel, basic mill. The Breakfast buffet was very rich and good, the staff very friendly, the rooms very clean. And as icing on the cake on top of it could for free with the public transport Bus and train go! Easy class!

Many thanks to the whole Team for the wonderful, loving and delicious design of our birthday celebration. There are no wishes remained unfulfilled, the expectations were sometimes even exceeded. The Buffet was worthy of 5*, the ice cream cakes as well. ?

If you love Saxon Switzerland, you will also love this hotel. Because the view is fantastic. In addition, one is able to walk directly to some of the beautiful mountains. The staff is super nice and takes care of your well-being. Only to be recommended!

The long way to the Reinhard village and Schöna is rewarded with a finally with a beautiful view in the Saxon Switzerland. Good regional cuisine, friendly Service. You will notice the intensive use of the owner's family. Beautiful view, good starting point for a hike on a part of the Caspar-David-Friedrich-way. A beautiful Sunday of sound.

Actually should be 4,5 or a but more. Solid quality food with a great service and some nice selection of Czech beer. We enjoyed two very nice meals here and would recommend the place. The best thing we ate and drunk in Bad Schandau came from Czech Republic.

Very small little restaurant attached to a guest house. Extremely pleasant waiters and a great selection of local food made this visit worthwhile and I recommend anyone in the area paying it a visit. Prices are highly affordable as well!

Not bad. Stayed overnight there when on a motorcycle tour. Price is ok but things close around 2100 or 2200. Not in a town with much activity.

A small family run hotel. Due to the location in the valley, there is no longer any direct sun in the evenings and (in June) it was relatively cool in the evenings. What I saw as an absolute plus on vacation, however, because the rooms don't heat up that much, you can open the windows in the evenings on hot days and ultimately sleep at a pleasant room temperature. This is a great location to start trekking tours if you do not have a car. All public transport possibilities has stops at the hotel. You also reach central Bad Schandau in 20 Minutes on foot if you need to catch a ferry over Elbe. Hotel rooms are simple and not for people who wants luxury. The service is excellent and the management is more than willing to explain the myriad of trekking possibilities...

It's a nice little hotel with with the flavor of a old vile. The staff was friendly and open and the breakfest was good too.

We stayed at the Bären for 4 nights and felt very comfortable. The room was spacious and very clean. The roof terrace is also very nice. Unfortunately it was too cold for us to stay there long. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. The location is very central but quiet and easy to reach by public transport. A nice guest house in the Saxony area. It's a few minutes away from Bastei bridge and other sites. The owners are friendly and happy to serve you cold fresh beer after a long day of hiking. The rooms are old but comfortable. You'll experience a nice homey welcome in this place. The meals, drinks and rooms are fairly priced.
