The website photo shows a spacious area with a table and chairs and plenty of space to separate the twin beds. The reality is a room where you cannot walk around the beds, let alone have space to sit at a table. The walls are not insulated, so you will hear everything that your neighbours are saying, and I was wearing ear plugs. The electronic check in machines did not work, and there was only one...

We didn’t have the best sleep the first night. Some guests where screaming and running in the hallway, but the second night was quiet. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and the place was clean. We also didn’t have any problems with our roommates. The morning buffet was also good. Location wise a bit far with public transport. Service was friendly!

I booked a single room for 2 people. The room was very clean, we had our own bathroom and shower and a small study room. The atmosphere in lobby is also very good. The location is just perfect as you can easily access the bus stop which is in front of the Hostel and The U8 which is just 5 to 8 min. walk away. Would surely recommend it as its value for the money you pay.

Perfectly good facility. The interior design of the whole hostel was quite lovely and the services offered satisfying. Reading some of the reviews, I feared the worst. It turned out it is not so bad - the common areas are very nice and the room was very clean and while some parts had shown some significant wear and damage, the important parts (bed & bathroom) were in perfect condition. No instructions from the staff. At all. When I checked in and headed to my bed I saw my bed with the dirty sheets from the previous person. Previous girl hasn't taken off the sheets and just left it there. The staff hasn't made sure that my bed is clean as well. So know that when you check in, no one cleans your bed after the other person!!! No one told to this girl that you should take off the sheets...

The location is great, very close to the central station, and the staff were very nice. However, I got for myself a bed in a female shared room thinking it was going to be a bunk bed, but I got a single bed right next to another, which is not ideal when sleeping with strangers. Also, the room was a bit dirty.

Staff was really kind and helpful, allowed us a very early check in and was very quick. Location is great and near the station, rooms are basic but good value for short trips. Overall definitely better than some of the other places in the same area.

Small and cozy! The a&o staff is always super friendly, young, well trained and helpful. They always make sure you are having a good time. Shout out to the bar, which makes the place even cozier, where you have tables and cozy lights to hang out and have some nice drinks. Super easy to make friends as well if you are a solo traveler.

It’s alright if you’re on a budget, not my favourite hostel. There’s always something slightly wrong with my stay in an a&o hostel and I promise myself I’m not gonna stay in another a&o hostel, but they always have availability because they’re huge so when I need to book something quickly I always end up returning. This time I had a really bad allergic reaction to the room but there was no money back...

We got towels and our beds were already made when we arrived, the staff was nice and we were able to do the self checking when we arrived. We were a bit early but there was a large common area to wait until checking time. Everything was clean, the rooms are safe

At half the price of most nearby hotels, I was pleasantly surprised. Sure the rooms a small but every thing was clean and worked. One of the best no frills budget hotels I've ever stayed at. Friendly helpful staff.

very small and unsafe. no air in the room. when we were at the room, cleaning staff just opened the door without knocking and we were naked at the moment. she didn't go out, she just finished her tasks and went out without apologizing. i say no to this hotel.

Rooms are comfy, breakfast was really good and the service is at the highest level. Nearby you will find bus stops and shops about 3/4 minutes away. More demanding customers may find fault with something. However, it is also worth looking at the price of the rooms. If someone requires a 5-star room, let them go to a 5-star hotel.

As the first room was smelly and bathroom a little messy, probably due to the guest's usage, I asked for changing room and the second room was clean & neat. The staffs were quick to response on requests. Location is a little far from tram station but place is happening downstair but yet still quiet at rooms.

The girl at the reception was really friendly and checked us in with no hassle, the room is clean although I was surprised that the bathroom was outside of our bedroom (not in a bad way, I just haven't seen one like that before) and although the location is not exactly in the center, it's located right at a bus stop, so coming and going was really easy. I had great time in hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable. Also cleaning staff was very freandly with us. A very attentive manager has a housekeeping service. The room was fine, but this hostel lacks common space for a comfortable stay. I would have preferred to have a kitchen and/or eating area as there are a lot of good restaurants around, but nowhere to bring food back to unless you eat in the courtyard.

Rooms were absolutely good for this price. The service was just peak!! Safety could be better but its not worse than anywhere else. Food and drinks were really really good - alcoholic and non alcoholic (thanks to Leo the barkeeper!). I do recommend visiting!

Highly recommend Generator. Rooms are comfortable and clean, but more importantly, the cafe/bar has an amazing atmosphere. Beers served cold, had a great chat with the people working there. Thank you Leo & Liz for making our evening memorable.

Staff were amazing, especially Liz and Leo. They were super friendly and make you feel at home. The rooms are clean with a good shower to person ratio. Transport links are also very close so easy to get around to all parts of the city. Can not thank them enough and can not wait to be back!!!

A lot of good restaurants and bars around. S and U trains, tram station are just in 1-2 minutes. Ex-Techeles is just next building (now is under construction). 20 min walk to Museum Island. Daily room clean service. Hostel is really clean. Nice social areas. Good coffee!

Nice Hostel in the Eastern part of Berlin. Berlin Wall and Mercedes Benz Arena are in the near. The area develops itself rapidly. The rooms may differ, the restroom is clean, and personal is willing to help guests.

We got a very spacious room with sink and mirror inside + lockers next to each bed. Toilets and showers were close to the room, very clean and well-kept. There is an option to leave your luggage downstairs in the locker

The staff ist really nice. But in the Schlafsaal with 8 beds, there are no power outlets near the beds and no safe space for luggage (you have to pay extra 5 euros if you want to storage your things safely). The beds are kind of ok and the toilets are clean. For one night is fine.

Its alright. I have stayed at better I have stayed at worse. There is free parking, which is a HUGE plus. There is also a Kaufland near by. Other then that, its very very basic. A lot of the party crowd are there as well.

one of the largest hostels I have ever stayed in with some of the smallest toilets you will find. everything is very clean and in good condition. lots of things to do inside the hostel. one of the more expensive hostels around. not a great location. staff average

We stayed in a double room for three nights. The ammenities are minimal - small compact bathroom, two bed in the room and a small hanger (not even a shelf or a drawer). There were no cleaning through the three days. The breakfast was OK, the hostel bar has a good atmosphere. However it was cheap.

We stayed for 2 days at little 2 person room and it was really clean with a good price. Yes it is a bit far from city center but it is so near tram and s-bahn. Also you can rent a bike for 12 € daily from hostel.

Great hostel. Clean room and bathroom, well reachable by S-bahn (that's very important). There are two reasons why I did not put 5 stars. 1. The wifi signal is terrible (at least in my room). We stayed with a large group here and were all very satisifed. The rooms are spacious and clean. I had a very nice and comfortable stay in this hostel. Breakfast was tasty and extensive. My room was very clean on arrival and during my stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Good service and clean rooms, and the staff is friendly. The reception lobby is very nice, you can eat there food that you buy or bring. At night the lobby is also a bar. Mind that if you want to use several services you'll have to pay extra, for example for hand-soap, towels and laundry. It's also happened to us that the cards stop working, but at the lobby you'll be easily helped

Good hostel and good for the price you pay. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm. It was not super clean but it was OK. Take your towel and some soap with you ! Sheets are provided. Location is great, 5 minutes walk from Alexander Platz. Staff is very friendly. Overall a good stay !

Stayed in a 6 bed room with private toilet. Overall clean, like that we pick up our clean sheets ourselves, I like that the shower and toilet is separate so we can take turns more flexibly in the morning. Basic good breakfast. Lobby ambience is cool. Lockers and laundry in basement, lockers with a charge (if want to use after checkout). Super close to Alexanderplatz. Overall would recommend.

Great hostel. Check in was quick and painless. 8 bed mixed dorm was spartan but clean. Each bed has two outlets and light. Lots of in room storage. One large under bed locker and two smaller lockers per bed. Bring large locks to secure lockers. Towels, locks and tolietries available for purchase.

I enjoyed my 2½ week stay here. Made friends from different countries and we used to play the games provided by the hostel in the lobby. You get free high speed internet throughout the hostel. Guest kitchen is fully equipped, bathrooms and room are cleaned daily and kept clean.

stayed here in October 2022 with my sister in a private two bed room.. room was really good and clean .check in was smooth and everything professional and room where in another section of the building. best part is the 2 euro coffee machine in the lobby. shower was great as we booked private room.. don't know about the dorm rooms.. over-all good experience and near to everything . resturant and supermarket...

Very friendly staff, but the hostel is quite dirty and the carpets in the hallways smell unbelievably bad (like old sneakers). Rooms are too small with too many beds in them. Location is good. We probably won't come again (group of 7 people, age between 26-32).

Great experience! The staff at the reception was friendly and welcoming, the room was neatly clean and tidy. Daily room service made sure the towels were changed and the bedsheets made. Stayed two nights in a private room with a shared bathroom. Hostel was very cute, clean and in a great location. There are many great restaurants and cafes nearby. If you arrive prior to check in they offer free lockers to store your stuff. There was a safe in our room for important belongings. The staff were also very polite.

Great stay at the hostel. Clean and I received great service from Alex/Alec. There is public transport just outside of the hostel and its a quiet neighbourhood. Definitely also recommend the buffet because there's a wide range of food.

Good location, friendly staff, but there is no social life or lounge here. Mostly families or people working in the city waiting to find an apartment. Also, annoying about having to borrow the dishes you need to cook and take them to the kitchen rather than having dishes in the kitchen.

The hostel is in a good location close to a metro stop and is good value for money. The staff was friendly, too. The rooms are not soundproof, every little noise can be heard all over the floor. No wifi in rooms, and you need a special code for every device that you put in every time you connect. Breakfast has very limited options and quantity. Shower is inconvenient, and towels are 3.50 Eur. This is more of a hostel than a hotel.

As a solo traveller the single rooms are great. I always go for one with its own en-suite bathroom. The breakfast is great and staff are always really friendly.

Pretty good for it's price. Pretty small rooms and there was a pipe through our room, so we could hear people on the floor above us flushing the toilet. Toilets are shared on each floor. But very nice and helpful staff. Perfect place for city trips if you just need a place to sleep and some tips for the trip.

Nice hostel, with spacious rooms. Bunk beds had privacy screens and were well positioned for privacy. The shower room was cold and not very clean. Plenty of options for bathroom though, they are on each floor, toilets and the room had an ensuite too. Standard breakfast can be bought. Located 5 minutes walk from the nearest station with another a bit farther away.

Best choice for a solo traveler. Easy accessible by public transportation, greets you with a lovely lounge and cocktail bar. Clean, comfy beds and good facilities in general. Do not miss the breakfast! Buffet with everything for everyone!

This place gets five stars just for the awesomeness of all the people that work here. They are so friendly and helpful, it really makes your whole stay better and more fun. The only thing I would make better is to have a kitchen available for making and storing your own food.

Such a nice hostel! 10/10, the receptionist was so outgoing, we already checked in in the morning and the rooms are so nice and clean. We were a group of 16 people and they gave us 2 8-bed dorms specifically by our request. The whole hostel and specifically the main hall was very pretty. We left our bags after our check out and in general the whole experience was smooth. The location is perfect!

The place is amazing, the staff was super kind, they had reception 24hs, you can leave your luggage after checking out, you have a washing machine for 6€, the price is fair we paid around 190€ for two nights for three people. I was with family to spend 3 nights at Jugendgästehaus. We were very much satisfied with many aspects. Friendly and very supportive front office staff. We took 3 bed rooms which has one bunk bed and single bed each. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast is excellent with enough varieties. Property is 900m away from Hauptbahnhof which is very convenient. We got even parking space...

We loved our time here, great atmosphere, lovely welcome and the room was clean, fresh and perfect for our family. Really close to the train station too (10 mins walk).

It's just a 5 min walking distance from Berlin main train station, in a quiet area, clean room and very good breakfast. Family friendly. There is a Netto supermarket just around the corner and playground for children.

The location of the hotel was very good. But I will not be able to tell the same thing about the room we had 4 people in. The beds relaxed but our room was not cleaned for 3 days. Our garbage was not taken for 3 days. I think it was a question for me to not take the junk in a room where 4 people were staying. Apart from these, we thank you for your hospitality.
