The room size is a bit small for two ppl but it is definitely friendly for budget limited travelers

I had a great stay, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect close to everything but still quiet. The amenities were ok and I’d definitely stay here again!

Very large hostel, brought back memories of my school days, the common room on the ground floor is very large, almost like a pub, giving it a very cosy feel. The room was large and the facilities were clean, except for the lighting which was a little grey. Overall a very nice stay.

I had a great experience with my reservation. The place was very clean, well-maintained, and worth the price. The staff was attentive and provided detailed assistance throughout my stay. Everything was well-organized, and I truly appreciate the excellent service. I highly recommend it!

The location is great, very close to the central station, and the staff were very nice. However, I got for myself a bed in a female shared room thinking it was going to be a bunk bed, but I got a single bed right next to another, which is not ideal when sleeping with strangers. Also, the room was a bit dirty.

Staff was really kind and helpful, allowed us a very early check in and was very quick. Location is great and near the station, rooms are basic but good value for short trips. Overall definitely better than some of the other places in the same area.

Small and cozy! The a&o staff is always super friendly, young, well trained and helpful. They always make sure you are having a good time. Shout out to the bar, which makes the place even cozier, where you have tables and cozy lights to hang out and have some nice drinks. Super easy to make friends as well if you are a solo traveler.

It’s alright if you’re on a budget, not my favourite hostel. There’s always something slightly wrong with my stay in an a&o hostel and I promise myself I’m not gonna stay in another a&o hostel, but they always have availability because they’re huge so when I need to book something quickly I always end up returning. This time I had a really bad allergic reaction to the room but there was no money back...

We got towels and our beds were already made when we arrived, the staff was nice and we were able to do the self checking when we arrived. We were a bit early but there was a large common area to wait until checking time. Everything was clean, the rooms are safe

At half the price of most nearby hotels, I was pleasantly surprised. Sure the rooms a small but every thing was clean and worked. One of the best no frills budget hotels I've ever stayed at. Friendly helpful staff.

very small and unsafe. no air in the room. when we were at the room, cleaning staff just opened the door without knocking and we were naked at the moment. she didn't go out, she just finished her tasks and went out without apologizing. i say no to this hotel.

Rooms are comfy, breakfast was really good and the service is at the highest level. Nearby you will find bus stops and shops about 3/4 minutes away. More demanding customers may find fault with something. However, it is also worth looking at the price of the rooms. If someone requires a 5-star room, let them go to a 5-star hotel.

As the first room was smelly and bathroom a little messy, probably due to the guest's usage, I asked for changing room and the second room was clean & neat. The staffs were quick to response on requests. Location is a little far from tram station but place is happening downstair but yet still quiet at rooms.

The girl at the reception was really friendly and checked us in with no hassle, the room is clean although I was surprised that the bathroom was outside of our bedroom (not in a bad way, I just haven't seen one like that before) and although the location is not exactly in the center, it's located right at a bus stop, so coming and going was really easy. Generator hostel is really good. Nice beds and very clean. The bathrooms are a bit of a mess to take a shower but nothing too worrisome. Staff is nice.

The room is quite sanitary, the bed is acceptable, but the public bathroom facilities are simple, the shower head is 360° full, and the water level is blocked. Since there are many teenage students, it is very noisy and unsupervised, but for the price, it is good for Berlin. It's quite cheap, and if you have high tolerance, it can be a good choice for travelers who don't want to spend their budget...

I loved the vibe of GENERATOR, the location and check-in were excellent, they could improve the care in the bathrooms, for example: change the shower curtains, they look a little worn. The cleaning staff was very friendly. There is an outside patio where you can hang out which makes you feel at home. I would return without a doubt

The location is a bit remote, but it has a train station next to it that connects with everything.

I had an absolutely lovely stay at Generator! I like staying in Generator usually, it's convenient and amenities always in good condition, and so was this too. But the people working at this generator went out of their way to help, which made this stay even a better

We had a wonderful stay at the generator in a private room with 5 people. It was clean and the staff was lovely. Highly recommend coming here. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to be helped by Antonio at the front desk!

The room was fine, but this hostel lacks common space for a comfortable stay. I would have preferred to have a kitchen and/or eating area as there are a lot of good restaurants around, but nowhere to bring food back to unless you eat in the courtyard.

A lot of good restaurants and bars around. S and U trains, tram station are just in 1-2 minutes. Ex-Techeles is just next building (now is under construction). 20 min walk to Museum Island. Daily room clean service. Hostel is really clean. Nice social areas. Good coffee!

We stayed with a large group here and were all very satisifed. The rooms are spacious and clean. I enjoyed my 2½ week stay here. Made friends from different countries and we used to play the games provided by the hostel in the lobby. You get free high speed internet throughout the hostel. Guest kitchen is fully equipped, bathrooms and room are cleaned daily and kept clean.

stayed here in October 2022 with my sister in a private two bed room.. room was really good and clean .check in was smooth and everything professional and room where in another section of the building. best part is the 2 euro coffee machine in the lobby. shower was great as we booked private room.. don't know about the dorm rooms.. over-all good experience and near to everything . resturant and supermarket...

Very friendly staff, but the hostel is quite dirty and the carpets in the hallways smell unbelievably bad (like old sneakers). Rooms are too small with too many beds in them. Location is good. We probably won't come again (group of 7 people, age between 26-32).

Very nice garden. Perfect for big groups. Bar very over priced (sparti around the corner) perfect location! Beds were comfy too. Only thing was that the is no AC and rooms are very hot and unbearable for the summer.

Nice Hostel in the Eastern part of Berlin. Berlin Wall and Mercedes Benz Arena are in the near. The area develops itself rapidly. The rooms may differ, the restroom is clean, and personal is willing to help guests.

We got a very spacious room with sink and mirror inside + lockers next to each bed. Toilets and showers were close to the room, very clean and well-kept. There is an option to leave your luggage downstairs in the locker

The staff ist really nice. But in the Schlafsaal with 8 beds, there are no power outlets near the beds and no safe space for luggage (you have to pay extra 5 euros if you want to storage your things safely). The beds are kind of ok and the toilets are clean. For one night is fine.

Slight confusion upon arrival regarding booking confirmation. However that was swiftly dealt with. Room was clean, quiet and warm despite freezing temperatures outside. Nice location, easy transportation to airport and sights. Plenty of kebab shops in the local area with useful supermarkets.

I had a horrrible roommate lady that would scream and punch the bed freaked us all out... Brought alcohol in the room and strawberries.I checked out before she did before the two other guys in our room I think she blamed it on me because I tried to rebook and got my booking cancelled….Anyways that being said this is a great place with great staff. Had a great two nights there so close to everything...

Roommates are noisy. They even had parties inside the room til midnight. It is not easy to have a comfortable sleep.

The room is quite small for the 6-ppl suite. But I think given the price is so affordable, there is nothing much to complain about. Location is good. Not very clean as I see some stains on the blanket.

Good location, friendly staff, but there is no social life or lounge here. Mostly families or people working in the city waiting to find an apartment. Also, annoying about having to borrow the dishes you need to cook and take them to the kitchen rather than having dishes in the kitchen.

Offering a luggage room to be able to keep ur luggage before check-in and after check-out (for free) is a big advantage. The hostel is in a good location close to a metro stop and is good value for money. The staff was friendly, too. Some things that could be made better: - We booked a double bed private en suite, but instead got two single beds in the room. - The only free plug points were behind one of the beds, so we had to move the bed a little. - There was no floor mattress in the bathroom to clean your wet feet...

There was a shared kitchen space with the room members, which was great, and not just once.

The truth is that it was very good, it wasn't perfect but for the price it's a great option. Lots of friendly people, nice atmosphere and despite having gone in winter I didn't get cold at all. And the bar is great!

The rooms are not soundproof, every little noise can be heard all over the floor. No wifi in rooms, and you need a special code for every device that you put in every time you connect. Breakfast has very limited options and quantity. Shower is inconvenient, and towels are 3.50 Eur. This is more of a hostel than a hotel.

As a solo traveller the single rooms are great. I always go for one with its own en-suite bathroom. The breakfast is great and staff are always really friendly.

Pretty good for it's price. Pretty small rooms and there was a pipe through our room, so we could hear people on the floor above us flushing the toilet. Toilets are shared on each floor. But very nice and helpful staff. Perfect place for city trips if you just need a place to sleep and some tips for the trip.

We're a family of five (journey of a nomadic family) who spent 3 nights here. The staff are WONDERFUL. Had a great time and would definitely return.

A lot of noise, not just from the people. Staff could be friendlier. Beds are okay for the price. The bathroom was clean. Close to public transport and a lot of party/bar opportunities nearby. It's an alternative neighbourhood, good place to stay if you like that.

If I were ten years younger, I would definitely be happy. Now I really think it's too simple. But this is also a good experience It's the level of a domestic youth hostel. Cozy and spacious hostel almost in a heart of Berlin. Stayed there frm 24.06 to 25.06 The hall is huge and filled with board games, tables and heartwarming bar. When I checked in, almost in the middle of a night, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist. My experience in Berlin was almost awful but this hostel gave me some sort of relief

Such a nice hostel! 10/10, the receptionist was so outgoing, we already checked in in the morning and the rooms are so nice and clean. We were a group of 16 people and they gave us 2 8-bed dorms specifically by our request. The whole hostel and specifically the main hall was very pretty. We left our bags after our check out and in general the whole experience was smooth. The location is perfect!

Very cost-effective hotel, located near the main fire in Berlin. The hotel is clean inside, the service staff is enthusiastic, and there are rooms for children to play. The children like it very much and will stay here again next time.
