Leonardo Boutique Hotel Berlin City South in Berlin

They sold my room because of a late check-in which would be fine, but the hotel also kept the money for the whole reservation. I think this is unethical at least, but likely also unlawful.

I traveled from Florida to visit a friend and I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Berlin City South. The customer service was one of the worst I’ve encountered—staff at the front desk completely ignored me, pretending to be busy on their computers. This made it particularly awkward and uncomfortable, especially for guests who don’t speak German. A basic level of hospitality, like acknowledging guests or being approachable, was entirely absent.

The state of the rooms was equally appalling. My room was dusty to the point that my white travel fan was left covered in black dust after just a short stay. There were visible spider webs and dust throughout the space, which is unacceptable for any hotel claiming to be a boutique experience. The lack of cleanliness made the stay unpleasant and unhygienic.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Between the poor customer service and the substandard room conditions, it’s clear that better management and attention to detail are desperately needed. Look elsewhere for a comfortable stay in Berlin.

I don’t know how a place is rated as 4 stars when the internet is so slow you think they were using a 56k modem from the 90’s. It’s not hard to get fast internet these days, and cap each connection to 5mb/s. Very poor experience. And I just saw a review from another person a month ago complaining about the bad WiFi. The response from the hotel was “we are putting concerted efforts into enhancing our wifi service”. Clearly that was a lie.
