Lovely small and charming hotel, family managed. Only few minutes away from the city centre and easily accessible via tram. The room was just perfect in size and amenities. We also enjoyed a very nice breakfast which was freshly made for us.

The location is excellent, the service attitude is good, the parking lot is a short distance from the hotel, you need to communicate with the front desk to understand.

A bit dated hotel, and not as central as the name suggests. Expect a twenty minute walk to the old town.

On the plus side : conveniently located and friendly staff - downside : poor sound isolation (you hear everything)- very old equipment - the elevator comes straight out of the twilight zone -

We liked the location away from the busy centre but only a ride on the funicular railway. Breakfast was plenty the staff very attentive and cheerful and friendly. We had a small room but super clean and comfortable.

I was at a wedding on the weekend. The hotel is actually really nice. The personal is really friendly. But as they advertise they are a 4 stars hotel, they should take care of some small things. As I also come from the hotel branch I noticed that the waiters didn't really care about the glass they used to serve wine. White wine was served on red wine glasses and the other way around too. Great hotel overlooking all of Heidelberg. Close to the tram to go up and down. City and other viewpoints are within reach. Great staff and clean rooms.

Well, the location is marvelles, the view is wonderfull...but the services at restaurant and terrace are not at the same level...sorry to say! However, the pleasure of contemplation of the landscape from inside or outside was not influenced by this aspect, so I even visited several times this place with friends and with my family. Enjoy!

Special hotel on top of the hill where the castle is. Free parking. The staff is nice and attentive. The rooms are comfortable and have everything one needs. Had a room with a view over Heidelberg which was nice. The restaurant is also nice, food is lovely with a good wine selection(could be better though) On foot it takes 20-25 minutes to the old town, although there is a funicular or bus that go...

It was exactly what we needed: spotless room with good airco right in the city center. Staff very friendly and good breakfast. Room for sleeping only. Parking 16 euro per night, about 400 meter walk. Recommended for short Stay, couples or families with older children.

Our stay at Backmulde hotel was most enjoyable. The proximity to “everything “ was amazing! We’ll stay again!!

Our favourite place to stay in Heidelberg...In food price range and value for money. Delicious breakfast, friendly and caring staff, car park and clean, renovated rooms in a quiet location in the wonderful old town.

Good basic hotel. More of a guesthouse than a hotel. No bed side tables and no sitting chairs. On the plus side, Superb Breakfast. Very quite and yet a mere 50mtrs from the main Street. Shall visit again if in Heidelberg.

The food was delicious. The air good a little stuffy at the end, but it was an extremely warm day.

Wonderful room in the countryside. Very friendly staff. We had a studio under the roof, with sleeping room, living/dining/kitchen area (equipped with everything needed to cook, including fridge, induction field, pots and pans and all the rest of whatever one may need) and a bathroom, it was lovely. All the hotel looks new and beautiful, our room was the same, furnished in lovely country house style...

I went there for a wedding party. The service was very nice. The buffet table was a little small for this many people, but the food was delicious. Great location for this kind of event. We stayed overnight in the guest house which was also nice. The breakfast was ok but nothing special.

This place is near the train station which makes it convenient for me to travel to other places! And the room is so cozy and tidy!

Heidelberg is a magical experience. From this hotel it's easy to access the old town on tram, bike, or foot. Be sure to hike in the hills overlooking the town. If you encounter unhoused migrants here or anywhere in the world, send them your love and see yourselves in them.

Unassuming accommodation in Heidelberg. Exterior looks abit old but the room is very modern and clean. Reasonably nightly rates. Very near to train station at just 5mins walk.

The location of this hotel is great, and the front desk people were nice too. But the facility was way below either the industry standard or our expectation - the knob of the shower was falling down, the curtain was also falling down and could not close; the reading light switch had no handle; and the shower drainage was blocked (see the photos) ---- shockingly this is in Germany!! Very, Very disappointed

Nice and convenient hotel relatively clean and friendly staff

Hotel in a good location. Close to shops, restaurants and the old town. Minus for monotonous breakfasts, the same every day and little choice.

Traditional German style, the room layout is more traditional, the owner is very good. Convenient parking for self-driving. It is not far from the hotel to the old town. You can also cross the river first and go to the Philosopher's Trail.

The room is clean and tidy, with a bottle of drinking water provided. It is not far from the center, about a 15-minute walk away. There are many restaurants nearby with a wide variety of choices.

A very comfortable and welcoming family-run hotel. The owners are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and mine had a balcony looking out over the Neckar, perfect place to relax after a busy day. Dinner in the onsite restaurant was delicious and a wide choice at breakfast. A family-run hotel, full of character and charm. Really appreciated the balcony overlooking the Neckar river and the ability to chat to my friend in the room next door. The owners were ready to offer advice about public transport into the centre of Heidelberg, as well as local events. The restaurant offered a good quality breakfast and evening meal. Hotel Goldende Rose zelf was vanwege Corona nog gesloten, maar we kregen tegen dezelfde voorwaarden een verblijf in zusterhotel Panorama aangeboden. Dit was in alle opzichten een uitstekend hotel. Echt geweldig!

We spent 4 days here in February of 2018. We had a very pleasant stay. Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean and decent price. I was good value for money and would definitely recommend it.

Location is really convenient. The hotel is on top of the parking building and the walking distance to the main square is less than 5min. Decent breakfast and lovely views from the terrace. The room was quite small, and the hotel in general has small spaces as well but not too problematic.

Nice hotel with beautiful restaurant, clean bathrooms and nice staff. Room is coming with cold breakfast, quite ok wifi (if you know, where to connect) and regular 6 o'clock street sweeper's drive-throughs under the window. Work trip stay is worth it due to great location in the old town though.

We had a really great time here! The staff is super helpful and friendly. Breakfast is delicious. Our room was sufficiently big and cozy. During the evenings, the street performers outside would play their instruments, and we could hear the beautiful music in our room, which was magical. There's no elevator though, so try to reduce the luggage.

Reception is up a huge staircase. No porters, no elevators. Hope you don't have much luggage! Rooms are then up more stairs. No air-conditioner in the room, not even a fan, very hot on this late spring day, would hate to stay here in summer. "On site parking" is a public parking garage a block away. Clean and tidy though. Towels are bright yellow. Staff were nice.

This is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location, however there is a 'but' ! The owner / chef (I think) is quite rude and unhelpful, but the rest of the staff were very pleasant. If he is the chef, he should stay in the kitchen, because despite his poor social skills, he can cook. The food is very good. The rooms are lovely, however there is no A/C so you might need the windows open. The hotels fantastic...

Perfectly situated next to the Old Bridge and easy walking into Altstadt. The room was roomy, with a loft, and comfortable chairs for sitting rather than on the bed! Lovely!

Great rooms, breakfast, and front desk service. A few notes for travelers interested in staying here: Most rooms do not have a fridge. There is no gym and the nearest gyms are very expensive. The WiFi is very slow and will not load most websites.

Was a great stay at hotel Bayrischer. Location was easy to find and check in was seamless. Parking was a little complicated and not really convinent to get to hotel and then park, so ask about it beforehand if driving. But stay here was great and was easy to walk to all the sights nearby. The elevator didnot work well and we have to carry heavy luggage for 4 floors by stair. The location is great.

The room was wonderful, until we realized it had not AC, and it was hot during our stay. They provide a fan, which helped. Also, they had a refrigerator, but it didn't keep items cold. We had to buy ice.

The rooms are big and clean. The place is just outside the old town on a busy road. Fortunately the windows are well insulated. Breakfast was not available due to missing personnel. Wifi is not working well. But the price is low.

We are here on a German bus tour, and are spending 2 nights here. The rooms are fantastic and our breakfast was awesome. The staff have been great and I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. Would love to spend more time here. There are several Christmas markets within walking distance as well as hundreds of shops.

They also have a free parking. The staff is really friendly. I forgot my wallet at the nearby reastaurant when we left and a member of the staff went to the restaurant picked it up and sent it to me. They didn't even have to do...

Nice room but no king size bed. Only single bed :( night check-in works perfectly, but the security of it doesn't look great as the side door was left open.

We loved our stay here. The room was small but it’s all you need to have when in Heidelberg. Such a beautiful place with lots to see. Parking was a bit of a challenge but once that was done it was great. Staff were really helpful as well. Would defo come back.
