Just short facts :
Pros:
1. Location is one of the best
2. Service (those who clean the rooms) 99 out of 10 , work is on so high standard
3. Restaurant which outside the hotel and part of the hotel is super good. (Food is awesome)
4. Nice first floor
Cons:
1. When I asked for toothpaste at the reception , they offered to buy it in the shop because they are not sure they have it. First hotel which don't have such a simple things
- As a result I asked it from a person who cleaning room and I received everything I need for all days (don't expect reception know how does it work in their own hotel)
2. Breakfast is on the very low level (can not recommend purchase breakfast)
3. City tax only after you checkout , if you used all of your money or you did not expect any extra payments , please expect. In normal hotels they charge you city tax in the checking in the first day . ( I mean it's not a problem , but not the best experience)

Fabulous hotel.
I was thoroughly impressed!
The location is wonderful and the staff very friendly all at a reasonable price.
The room had everything I needed and was lovely with nice decor.
Highly recommended to any Cologne visitors.

I came to spend the weekend with my girlfriend for our 3rd anniversary, asked the hotel for some flowers to be prepared in the room. They did it just like I asked, and even sent us some champagne with dessert! The room was clean with a nice view to the Dom. I definitely recommend.

I personally think this is the best hotel in Cologne. Centrally located within a short walk to the Dom and to the train station. Not to mention any food options you want. BUT is a tucked away enough that getting a taxi or Uber is easy. Very clean and modern. Very nice rooms with spacious bathrooms. Very good breakfast…definitely recommend that part. The restaurant on site is good too. Everyone at the hotel is VERY nice and accommodating and can speak English very well. If I even come back to Cologne for work again I will be staying here.

All rooms is hotel have a large glass wall separating beds from bathroom. Our room had sticker on the glass that did not offer any privacy for the person using the shower or toilet. I'm traveling with my elderly mother. We had to ask for paper to be taped onto the glass wall. This hotel would be fine for a couple but traveling with friends, teenagers, or anyone else besides your partner I'd suggest another hotel. I have no idea what they were thinking.

- The 2 Rooms were nicely decorated and spacious. Bed were very comfortable. Service excellent and staff informative and serviceable.
- Breakfast was well stuffed and varied, delicious food and plenty of different beverages.
- Suggestions:
We had welcomed drink vouchers that we used at the evening before going for dinner. We would have appreciated a nice cosy bar at the hotel that doesn’t exist although the space between reception and breakfast room is available. We had to use it at the restaurant, sometimes too crowded.
Otherwise everything was perfect !
- Breakfast was well stuffed and varied, delicious food and plenty of different beverages.
- Suggestions:

The staff were amazing. They were warm, helpful, and made our stay so comfortable. Loved the location. It had easy access to everything we wanted to see and do. Perfect.

Had a short but excellent stay here. The location is perfect, the room was comfortable and very well equipped, the staff was friendly and efficient and the breakfast was excellent. Definitely recommended.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the level of customer service I received during my recent stay at Hotel Mondial am Dom Cologne. As a frequent traveler, I understand that not every hotel experience can be perfect, but the issues I encountered during my stay were unacceptable and racist!
Stayed at the hotel on the 13/5/2024. The front desk staff at 8pm working in this hotel was very rude, racist and badly trained. Even the manager seemed indifferent, unhelpful and doesn’t portray proper hospitality.
When I complained to the manager that the front desk staff was raising his voice, talking down to us and rolling his eyes at us. She told us that her staff is never rude! She doesn’t even know the basic rule of hospitality. With a poor customer orientated manager, it’s no surprise that the whole front desk staff is badly trained.
German culture doesn’t give the staff any reason to treat the customer so badly. As this is an international hotel group. It should follow the international standard of warm and enthusiasm in their service.
The main priority in any hospitality job is to satisfy the customer and make their experience perfect. In a service-oriented industry being understand, patience and FRIENDLY is a must. If the staff are not willing to provide the bare minimum, then they shouldn’t be working in this line!
I am Singaporean Chinese. I understand English perfectly as it’s our main language in our country! I believe my command of English is way better than the front desk staff. So please stop asking if I understand English when we are having a conversation in it! It’s very insulting and disrespectful! Please learn to treat your customers of other races with more respect! ALMOST ALL THE GREAT REVIEW ARE GIVEN FROM NON ASIAN CUSTOMERS . Double standard 😡

I urge the group management to address this issues promptly and take necessary steps to improve your customer service. I hope that my concerns will be heard and that appropriate measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Location is central and within close proximity (walking distance) from most of the main attractions. I got one of the rooms with a nice view of the cathedral. Clean room with just the right set of amenities. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of options including lactose free options. Best of all, the entire staff of the hotel were warm, helpful and very accommodating.
