Althoff Seehotel Uberfahrt in Rottach-Egern

I had such a wonderful stay at Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt.
The atmosphere here is calm and unhurried — everything moves at a peaceful rhythm. The staff are gentle, attentive, and always ready to help without ever being intrusive.

Every morning and evening, a fresh bottle of water was waiting in my room — such a thoughtful touch. The spa area is perfect for real relaxation: swimming, sauna, and wellness treatments all surrounded by views of the lake and mountains.

On sunny days, guests can go biking, kayaking, or even paragliding over the beautiful Tegernsee. There are also many great dining options, both within and around the hotel.

It’s truly an ideal place for a quiet yet luxurious holiday in Germany.

Fantastic stay!
The only negative thing I have to say about this property is that I didn't stay longer. This was easily the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was incredible, the restaurants were amazing, the hotel was gorgeous, the spa was other-worldly, and the staff did everything in their power to make sure I had everything I could have needed. I can't wait to come back and stay longer.

We had our wedding here in September (and stayed for 3 days, 4 nights) and every single thing about it was absolutely PERFECT!

Our wedding coordinator - Lisa Wollmann - was exceptional. She's absolutely excellent at her job and I cannot overstate how integral she was to our wonderful experience. Throughout our entire planning process - she was amazing. She went above and beyond and navigated all of our questions / logistical challenges with genuine kindness and professionalism. We had planned on an outdoor ceremony but the weather did not allow it - and the transition / change in plans was seamless. The ceremony and reception were perfect.

The entire Überfahrt staff were incredible - from the man who brought our bags to the room, the woman who steamed my wedding dress, the cleaning staff, the wait staff who worked our reception, the night manager who brought us coffee while we waited for our 5AM airport transfer - everything was perfect and every interaction was wonderful.

There were also so many personal touches woven throughout our stay (a congratulatory dessert, flowers, champagne, and handwritten note waiting for us in our complimentary upgraded suite, congratulations cake delivered to our suite the day after the wedding, and so much more).

The hotel itself is gorgeous. It went above and beyond what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. The breakfast we had every morning was great - and the food we had for our 5-course reception dinner was phenomenal - all of our guests were in awe.

It's also worth noting that my husband and I are based in NYC (though his family are in the Munich area) and we had no issues communicating across timezones / languages (I'm in the process of learning German and am only conversational at this point, and many of our guests only spoke English, but all of the staff we interacted with spoke English very well and didn't mind doing so!).

We will certainly be back to the Überfahrt and will wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wishing to host their wedding (or events). Thank you again to everyone who made our wedding / stay unforgettable!

This is a beautiful hotel in front of a beautiful lake. The service is outstanding. The rooms are fantastic and the general setting is memorable for a lifetime. We had a great stay

Amazing hotel with fabulous stunning location. The view outside the hotel is an absolute dream. The lobby is very elegant for coffee and cake. Right next to the hotel, you can have a beautiful walk on the lake, and stroll along beautiful cute shops, sole restaurants, and ice cream shops. Absolutely wonderful place and superb location all I. One spot. Absolutely recommended.

Great hotel. We had never stayed in a 5-star hotel before but it met and exceeded our expectations. All the staff were very friendly, especially the ladies at breakfast. There was fresh fruit, fresh fish, a large cheese and sausage platter and so on. There is also a large indoor pool where you can actually swim. We felt at home in our room.

Everything was very nice, service and FR very good and everyone was very attentive. Pool water a bit cold, felt like 25/26 degrees.
