Hotel Landhaus Höpen in Schneverdingen

Very nice help, we were very late for breakfast but were very nicely helped and there was more than enough choice and it was still well looked after. We are thinking of staying in one of the Dr. Lobeck houses to book a long weekend...

Stayed at the Landhaus Hopen Hotel while hiking in the area. The hotel was a real home from home. The warm welcome was matched by a very relaxed and homely feel during our stay. The hotel is set in the woodland just outside the town of Schneveringen about an hour's drive from Bremen. The restaurant served a wide range of dishes. The local speciality of mountain sheep in a juniper cream sauce was delicious. My friends's vegetarian options were all very good. Excellent beer! Deserts were very good. Perfect meals after a day of hiking. Everything served with a smile. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Set us up for a day's hiking. No lunch required! Our room was in an annexe. Room was immaculate. Swimming pool and spa areas with sauna on ground floor (7:00 - 23:00). Bar was relaxed and welcoming. Look forward to returning to Landhaus Hopen in the summer.

Attentive & prompt service, delightful outside seating with panoramic view, typical German interior space, sufficient & delicious cake selection.

An unexpectedly great café visit. Very nice team and cozy atmosphere with a great view.
The coffee drinks are very tasty. But the highlight is the selection of cakes.
The pieces are very large and very tasty.
Dogs are also allowed. We'll be back!

As you can easily see from the pictures, we came here for coffee and cake. A ray of hope on such a cloudy day!!
Although it was quite busy, we found a nice spot and were served very friendly and received our order very quickly.

The coffee (mug - large cup) was great. Likewise the cakes. Frisian cake and buckwheat cake.
It's a shame that the prospect of Hamburg didn't work out. We'll probably have to come back there. Definitely welcome.

Great place. Spa in the basement with pool and sauna. Nice breakfast. But unfortunately terrible beds. No air conditioning in the room

I can’t believe how happy we are with this place. Unfortunately, our original plan to come here with my husband’s parents was interrupted due to my father in law having a fall which landed him in the hospital the night before our trip. My mother in law understandably didn’t want to take part in the trip anymore and frankly, my husband and I didn’t want to either after what happened.

Nonetheless, to not lose completely the opportunity to come here this time around, my husband and I decided to just come alone, although we were no longer in the mood for it. Both the hotel and the booking platform we went with (Kurzurlaub.de) were very gracious and charged us only for one room instead of the two we had originally booked for four people in total. We appreciated this so much and it really helped with an already difficult situation, where we knew my husband’s parents would have loved to come here with us if they could have.

And what of our actual stay here? This place is the real deal. Amazing food made from scratch with fresh ingredients, whether we had breakfast or dinner here. We came during “Spargelzeit” and had literally the best cream of asparagus soup we have ever had. Same thing with the Rote Grütze. Just absolutely fabulous.

The location is simply gorgeous, staff is as already mentioned, so understanding and helpful. The wellness area with both wet and dry saunas, a pool with a gorgeous view and plenty of areas to laze around both inside and outside really takes the edge off. It’s beautifully designed and impeccably well kept.

We would happily come here again and can’t recommend this place enough. If anyone we know, friends or family, want to visit the Lüneburger Heide, this will be the first place we will recommend. Although we came during a difficult time in our lives, it ended up being an unforgettable trip.

Truly delightful hotel in the middle of nature. Great comfort room with balcony and bathtub, very good pool and spa area and a restaurant with high quality food both for breakfast and for dinner. And the staff was very nice and always helpful.
