Midtown Hostel
Cairo, 8Gawad Housny st, Abdeen, cairo, Egypt 🧭 Map
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Midtown. The staff were welcoming and helpful.
The room itself was clean.
The location of the hotel was also very convenient exploring the city.
Our stay in the Midtown was fine. We were a bit worried since it was our first night in Cairo and considering that the surrounding city streets are dark and busy it was reassuring when we met Mahmoud the owner. Firstly, he reached out via Whatsapp to ensure we’d a taxi or tours, we’d already prebooked these but he was the only hotel owner who was upfront and straight with no hassle on the tours....
Honest review. The location is great, close by to everything. Clean and beautiful rooms but if you stay here, you are on your own. Expect zero service from the hotel whether it is check in on time, early breakfast request (specially if you requested it a day prior and they agreed still you won't get) , help with luggage (even if 3 ppl are looking at you struggling with luggage, no help) , room services...
Best ever hostel the place is clean and safe the staff is helpful and big thanks for Moh Gentleman and helpful person🥰🥰This is the second time I have come to stay also Midtown good place for solo or friends and couples I really recommended for any one who’s to stay in Cairo
The room is very good. It is very spacious, has a closet, refrigerator, air conditioning and a small balcony. The entrance to the hostel is surprising because it is very old and not maintained at all. We walked up and on some flights of stairs there was even garbage. As for the staff, they were very friendly and helped us with everything, Rafiki was always willing to help via Instagram, although it...

Everything is great, I liked it
I like the style very much, it's clean and sanitary, the boss is also very nice, it's in the building opposite the bank
Very good. I'm impressed. The room is clean. The staff provided very good service. I like it very much.
It's convenient and clean for two people, but the shower head is too high and can't be moved, so it's not very convenient to take a shower.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Metro Station ORABI less than 100m away.
Cairo main railway station 10 min. walk.

The room was better that i expected, very clean and quite, wasn't expecting air conditioner with this price.
The staff were really friendly, and the breakfast was really good.
I highly recommend.
One bad thing that is booked a room was large bed but when i checked in, they told me that the large bed room wasn't available.
This is a more than wonderful place. First, excellent management. Guests are welcome. You feel that you are really at home. The breakfast is organic. They come from the hotel owner's farm in the oases. The most beautiful thing I loved is the natural oranges and the country cheese, even eggs and vegetables. It was an opportunity for me to rest from eating food full of harmful nutrients and it made a...

Extremely kind people. They were friendly at all times and helpful. The day we went to Giza, we left very early and they left us breakfast in the fridge ready for us to take at 6am, when breakfast normally starts at 8am. The day we left, they kept our luggage after checkout, and they let us use the living room area. There's a small kitchen available. Fast and reliable WIFI --I work remotely and had...
Helpful and friendly staff, from the front desk to the housekeeper. We paid for what we get and honestly, we came with low expectations but everything worked as it should. Mohammed even offered us Turkish coffee. Thank you for having us.
Stayed on November 2022
Not great, but cheap.
Pro's:
- good location in downtown
- cheap price
- hosts (two brothers) were friendly and helpful
-24/7 "reception"
Con's:
- it's not a hotel, so the "reception" was in front of our room (pretty annoying & loud also during night)
- AC was not able to cool down the room
- lot of mosquitos!!!
- mosque directly next to hostel, so you will be awake at 4am
- breakfast was only omlette...
It was a total pleasure staying at this location for over a month. The owners were welcoming and were always ready to help with anything we needed: from ordering food on Talabat, to Nile Cruise recommendations, or just a nice late evening chat. Safe and private rooms with a delicate design that make you feel at home. There is a shared kitchen, but each room has their own shower and toilet. If we ever...
Wonderful experience and better looking rooms than I expected in a place with such great low rates. I had to stay longer because I was having so much fun I forgot to get my covid test to fly home. They were very helpful get me a tour of the pyramids with a wonderful tour guide. They got me another room when I had to stay later and were the best with directions and helpful tips for my daily excursions...
Me and my friend stayed here for 9 nights and it was wonderful. It is located right in the heart of downtown Cairo and is within walking distance to most of the major tourist attractions, including the metro. The owner was absolutely lovely, and took very good care of us - as 2 young women we also always felt very safe, which is very important to us. All in all, no complaints and very pleased.

Hostel Vienna
Cairo, 26 Mhmoud Bassuni 🧭 Map
Hotel Vienna is one great place to stay at when visiting Cairo & Egypt. Low priced and extremely convenient location.
The Egyptian museum is only a 10min walk from the hotel, Tahrir Square 5min walk as well and shopping streets right around the corner. Also, the rooms are big and spacious and the breakfast is really good too. WiFi available at no charge as well. Highly recommend staying here
nice place for a budget hostel
clean, neat and quiet
convenient location, dry clean and supermarket are nearby
very good hotel i spend there 2 weeks ..service is so good and everything is close there..thank you for Mr Ramadhane the prioritaire who take care for everything.
Good budget accomodation, downtown - 5 min to Egyptian Museum. We spent there one week - in clean double room with bathroom. Hot water, AC, 3rd floor with lift. Nice staff, they ordered trip to pyramids for us (they can arrange trips according to your wish). Recommended.

Maybe because there were not many people staying, we were upgraded to a triple room. The hotel is located in the city center, within walking distance to the National Museum. There is a small supermarket downstairs and many restaurants around. However, since it is not on the first floor, you have to go inside the building when you first go there, remember to pay attention to the signs on the wall. There...
Nice cozy place to stay in city center, good for those planning museum or places close to old cairo
Affordable price with breakfast
It was good. They took care of my luggage and the location was good.
The hotel is in a great location, very close to the National Museum and Victory Square, and there are many supermarkets nearby for food and drinks. The hotel staff is super nice and the breakfast is delicious. The sanitary conditions are very good and very clean. My phone fell in the toilet, and the hotel staff Mango (mangguo) picked it up and sent it back to my room. Thank him very much, I will definitely...
I booked a dormitory, but each person was given their own room during my stay.
There were no bath towels in the room, but I asked the front desk and they provided some right away.
The elevator won't move unless you close the door tightly, so it may be difficult to get in at first.
The cats were cute.

Cairo, 8 Ali Al Kasar St 🧭 Map
We arrived in the evening for one night. The next day to the airport. For one or two nights it's ok. No more. Doubts about the cleanliness of the bed linen. It seemed that they don't change it after each guest. But I'm not sure. We took this hostel only because of the location. The staff is friendly.
I stayed in a single room (smoking) for 5 nights.
The room looked larger than it looked in the photos, and it was comfortable with a sink and ceiling fan.
It was quiet even though it was located in Attaba. However, sometimes the room would vibrate mysteriously.
The location was excellent and you could walk to the city center.
Breakfast was also provided, so I was overall satisfied.
When I came to the center of Cairo, I saw a lot of dilapidated buildings. This is the Egyptian style. You can't expect too much. Hotels in the old city are all like this. The manager is not bad, polite, and can speak English. There are two cleaners who do a good job of sanitation, but the facilities are too old. Hotels in Egypt generally cannot change bed sheets for each guest, but they don't look...
In general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights.
Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects...

Sunset Hotel Cairo - Hostel

The hostel is clean, calm, people are so kind. The location is excellent in the middle of the downtown. But the only bad thing is that water cut late at night. It comes backs tomorrow. I guess they cut it... I spent 5 days there, it was a good place and i recommend it.
The hotel is very clean
And the staff is very helpful and kindly.
It is very good service and excellent cleaning for rooms and hotel
Lovely little hostel very cosy, clean and freshly refurbished. The dorm benefits from a big and sunny balcony with a nice view on the roofs of downtown Cairo, and the Citadel afar. The owner is lovely and very helpful. You can do your laundry there for a chez price. I loved the laid back atmosphere and the calm of the place at night. 5⭐️ hostel, I highly recommend!
Very central hostel! Clean and urban with very helpful & friendly staff! We could storage our luggage after checkout and we‘re even allowed to take a shower after our day in the city shortly before heading to the airport. We can really recommend this hostel!
One of the best hostels that I have ever been to in downtown Cairo.
great value for money in a brand new place with everything you need. room is very clean and spacious.

My favorite hostel in Cairo! The building and its old lift might look a bit creepy (it’s managed separately), but the hostel itself is super clean, two thumbs up! Great value for money too!”
The location is at city center nearby to Egyptian Museum. Plenty of amenities within 10 minutes walk. The famed Koshary Abu Tarek is within 6 minutes walk. The rooms are well maintained. There is a staff at the reception 24/7. Guests of all ages and nationalities can be accomodated.
Suggestion for improvement:
1. The towels to be issued upon check-in and not upon request.
2. The lift need to be upgraded...
Everyone is very nice. The location is good. It's a very relaxing place. I like it very much.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It’s exceptionally clean, which is perfect for anyone who values hygiene and a tidy environment. The staff are honest and transparent, with no hidden charges or misleading offers.
exactly what you want when booking a place. I felt safe, comfortable, and truly valued as a guest. Highly recommended for those who prioritize cleanliness and straightforward service
Madina hostel was fantastic. Entrance to the building a bit off-putting but once up at the 10th floor where the hostel is it's like a modern upbeat hotel. Location a short walk from the Cairo museum and downtown amenities, staff helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, price excellent, rooms clean and wonderful filling breakfasts. Definitely recommend
As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe at this hostel. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, receptionists were very helpful and attentive, and I appreciated the complimentary breakfast and laundry services. The building and elevator going up to the hostel could use some renovations but if you can get past that, the facilities within the hostel itself are very modern.

I was there about 23 years ago. My family and I like this place. Great memories. We were there at Christmas. We used the hotel like a base to explore the city. I recommend it. I would go back again.
I had a very comfortable stay at the Sun Hotel Cairo.

The place is very close to the pyramids and the sphinx, the staff are very friendly, the breakfast was great on the rooftop with a view of the pyramids.
It is also near to the Cairo Tower and the Egyptian Museum of Civilization, which contains the mummies.
The people in charge of the hospitality are friendly, respectful, and excellent in dealing and taste, especially Brother Muhammad in the reception and Sister Dina Siam

Pyramids Family Inn
Cairo, 2 el salam street - abo al Hol street 2 🧭 Map
It is not a hotel but a family home with rooms for rent. This might be uncomfortable but the building is quite big so I felt like in a hotel. The staff is nice, they help you if you have some problem or question. Some rooms overlook the pyramids and there is a rooftop terrace too. It is a simple, clean accommodation without a kettle, hair dryer, etc., but it is a good choice for this money.

The breakfast is bad for a hostel. They provided cold food like bread, boiled egg, jam & coffee. The location is good. Smells cigarette near the room area. The wifi is bad. The staffs are approachable. The photo is showing the area around from the hostel view.
Poor service, No basic necessities like shampoo and tower provided.
I made a reservation to rest for a while before going to the airport.
The room was relatively clean and the location was excellent. The view from the window and the access to tourist spots were great.

i honestly love this place, not the first time i’ve stayed there, perfect location, great price and super friendly staff, highly recommended
During our Egypt travels we stayed in WakeUp twice and enjoyed it both of the times.

The team is friendly, attentive and always ready to help. The breakfast guarantees a smooth start into the day and on request (early morning flight, trip to Gizeh, etc.) it can be prepared earlier or To go. We could even leave some of our luggage...
Everyone is very nice, no scams. The room wasn’t the best but had ac. I wouldn’t get my hopes up for the breakfast we skipped it. Looks sketchy but the are is close by city center. I wouldn’t stay there again for sure
The location is very convenient. 300 meters to the gobus station.
I went there after looking at the reviews and navigation. I had to look for the location for a long time. Fortunately, I met a local old man and a little girl who helped us. The location is in a building in the navigation location, next to a store that sells Mercedes-Benz cars. The first picture is what it looks like when you enter the building. Location is great.
Room is clean and major facilities are available such as airconditioning, washer, fridge, cooktop. Breakfast is included but serve after 8:30 and need to request for room delivery.
Surprisingly, some fundamental items are missing, such as no hangers, no hook and tower rack in both room, no shower screen which makes the floor very slippery. LPG barrel almost empty, etc.

I stayed at this hostel with my mother and son for 10 days. We felt safe and comfortable throughout our entire stay thanks to the wonderful service. I completely disagree with the previous written review about the uncleanliness and do not share this experience.
