During our Egypt travels we stayed in WakeUp twice and enjoyed it both of the times.
We booked through Agoda with a discount (10€/night for double room).
The team is friendly, attentive and always ready to help. The breakfast guarantees a smooth start into the day and on request (early morning flight, trip to Gizeh, etc.) it can be prepared earlier or To go. We could even leave some of our luggage there for three weeks, as we were coming back by the end of our trip.
The location of the hostel is super convenient for exploring the country (walkable to Tahrir) or Cairo itself, as it's close to all the public transport as well as different restaurants, sights and shopping areas.

i honestly love this place, not the first time i’ve stayed there, perfect location, great price and super friendly staff, highly recommended

While it's obviously a hostel and cheap per night, it's also worth mentioning that the building, and especially the stairs, look like something out of a horror movie. The staff is quite apathetic, and they serve you breakfast accompanied by large amounts of phlegm, completely understandable given the Cairo climate, but it puts you off. The room was fine except that you had to wear shoes to the bathroom due to the centimeter of water standing on the floor. The toilet wouldn't flush unless you pulled the lid all the way up, but with all the loperamide we had in our system, we didn't overdo it. It was definitely fun. On a positive note, the museum is right there, a two-minute walk away, with a good place to have breakfast.

Everyone is very nice, no scams. The room wasn’t the best but had ac. I wouldn’t get my hopes up for the breakfast we skipped it. Looks sketchy but the are is close by city center. I wouldn’t stay there again for sure

I went there after looking at the reviews and navigation. I had to look for the location for a long time. Fortunately, I met a local old man and a little girl who helped us. The location is in a building in the navigation location, next to a store that sells Mercedes-Benz cars. The first picture is what it looks like when you enter the building. The one with a smiley face 😃 is on the 7th floor. The decoration style of the store is very old, and the room is clean. The service at the bar is also good, and we checked in quickly. There was free breakfast the next morning. When we left the store, they also helped us change the local 💰. Very satisfied!

Great value for money at a good location, for a couple of nights!
The location is great as in a very active area. The room turned out to be better than expected for the price - but don't expect wonders as this is a hostel.
The staff was great and extremely helpful - provided us the breakfast in dinner itself as we were supposed to leave very early in the morning.
The room was small, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was average.
Really loved their shared area for eating.
The building in which this is located, seems to be sparsely occupied and doesn't seem to be in the best of health.\
Worked out great (value) for us as we only used this for a few hours before our early morning flight (~$25/n in Feb'24)

If you are not looking for 5 star hotels & their luxury, then it will be a perfect nest for you. Owner & staffs are very supportive. He can arrange tour to giza & dinner cruise at a reasonable price. The driver we got was very good. Cairo museum,tahrir square & abou tarek restaurant is at walking distance to the hostel. Owner has offered us every support we needed.

Central location, clean, comfortable bed and warm shower. Friendly professional staff. Good option for inexpensive downtown accomodation. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that there was a lot of cigarette smoking going on in the indoor lounge. As its a compact space, the smoke was quite present even into my room. I know this is Egypt but having regular cigarette smoke in my room and even more every time I stepped out of it wasn’t nice. It would be terrific if they reconsidered their policy of allowing smoking inside.

Good location. Have plenty of restaurants near by. It's in 7th floor, so we get a nice view.
The room itself is OK. The toilet had a sewage smell, we were told it was due to it being fixed the same day and the smell would go soon. We were for a night, so was not that much of an issue.
