Sonesta St. George Hotel - Convention Center

Everything about this hotel was perfect. But what really made my stay perfect, was the staff. Every single member of the staff that I encountered were top notch. They deserve better than a 5 star rating. I ate at both The Hibachi and The Italian restaurant, and the food was delicious. Hotel was spotless. Nice lounge to have a drink at the end of the night also. I highly recommend this hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sonesta with a great view over the Nile from our balcony. Two highlights of our room was watching the hot air balloons in the morning and the mountains lighting up at night.

Our room steward, Selah, was sensational keeping our room in top condition and cleanliness.

The hotel is situated close to all facilities with tour operators generally offering pick up and drop off, which we found worked well.

Only negative was the breakfast which we were a little disappointed with although the wait staff did a fantastic job.

The hotel is very good, the best hotel and service I experienced during my 15-day trip to Egypt. The hotel has its own boat that takes you to explore the Nile at sunset, which is a great way to relax after a tiring day. The boat can be booked directly at the front desk, and a private charter for one hour per person is 150EP, but I would like to remind everyone that there will be accidents when you are on the boat. When I arrived at the boat on time, an old staff told me that I needed to share a boat with others. I refused him and told him that the reservation I made with the front desk was a private boat. Then he found me a boat from another place (not the hotel's own St. George). The boat looked very unsafe and dirty. At my insistence, he finally agreed to let me board the hotel's boat as scheduled.

The hotel was at a great location. The service was phenomenal, the staff is so helpful and friendly. The rooms were so neat and clean. And the views are absolutely gorgeous from the hotel depending where your rooms located. The restaurants at the hotels are really good.

This is a beautiful hotel. The staff is amazing and I was blown away by the hospitality. Clara was a great help to my friend and I. She answered all of our questions, helped us find a place for exchange and gave us wonderful recommendations. I highly recommend you give this beautiful hotel a try if you are in Luxor. If you don’t want to leave the hotel they have many accommodations you would need on sight. Thank you Clara I hope to return and I will be recommending Sonesta to my family and friends.

I had a very pleasant stay in Sonesta. Very attentive and kind staff from the reception to the room services , laundry and restaurants. My room was large and very clean with view on the Nile. I would be happy to come back. Just as a small recommendation, it would be nice to get a welcome drink for your customers as they come usually from long or very early trips . For a 5 star hotel I think this should be the standard.

Over the years I have stayed at all the 5 star hotels in Luxor. This was the last one which is unlucky for me as for me The Sonesta St George is the best hotel in Luxor. It.is without a shadow of a doubt the cleanest. The staff are friendly & attentive but not over bearing & there are not pushing for tips at all (which is rare in Luxor).
The pool area is lovely views over the Nile are amazing. Breakfast is good. My wife & I enjoyed many lovely coffees at the Lotus cafe. We will definitely be booking again.
The general manager runs a tight ship & this hotel & its staff are a real credit to him.

Good stay at the Sonesta, even though it was average by all standards. I was appreciative of the very clean room, comfortable bed, restaurants on site, lovely pool and beautiful views of the Nile and the distant temple of Hatshepsut in the mountainside. This hotel is showing its age though. The shower with all it's feature buttons, only half of which worked, was probably a big deal 10 or 15 years ago. My Platinum tier status wasn't recognized at the property. My tour guide mentioned the hotel is "fancy", which for the location, it probably was. I had no issues while there and would gladly stay there again. I ate at the Italian restaurant, good there was good. I would not consider this a "luxury" hotel, but it is very nice!

Wonderful, understated hotel. With a highly attentive, friendly and hospitable staff.
The location and view are superb. Making it very easy to get around on foot to Luxor temple and its vicinity that has the most options for dining and relaxing.
