Absolutely gorgeous high-rise building (28 or 29 floors) packed full of amenities. Pretty restaurant downstairs, fantastic cocktails at the upstairs restaurant/bar, terrific spa amenities & especially staff.
My experience would have been different without access to the Level Lounge on the 25th floor, but it made all the difference once I discovered that it functions as a VIP version of the front desk on the 1st floor. Tapas & drinks are available for free all day & the wonderful staff including Luisa & Gustavo handled my various requests immediately- something not possible downstairs, as this is an extremely busy hotel also catering to corporate bookings. Downstairs, you might get into line for a small question & realize after awhile that someone ahead of you is handling a reservation for 15 people.
Besides an incredible view of the city, the Level Lounge handled concierge services, bag check & called both the front desk & maintenance for me on top of giving some great info about local attractions.

Melia Sky Barcelona is the best hotel I ever been to! Be careful leaving your stuff in your Room or Lobby valet. I got all my Diesel and G Start polos stolen before my flight thinking they would be in security. Call them up after arriving and all by magic they were found in the lost n found. And they even said the close were forgoten in the room when I check out. I never and repeat never take my closes out of my suitcase on short stay.

We stayed for a few nights as a family with older teens and had a level room with access to the lounge. This was great for cold drinks (incl. wine and beer) all day and a good range of snacks/tapas/cakes etc - slightly annoying being on the 25th floor when you're spending the day by the pool on the 6th as we did end up spending more than we needed to at the pool bar. The breakfast snacks in the lounge were really limited so I would recommend paying for the main hotel breakfast or going out. The staff in the lounge were lovely and honoured us with a slightly late check out which was great... the lounge was also never really crowded (like some I have been to in the past). The weather was really warm so we didn't do much sightseeing in the city but it was a short taxi ride into the centre if needed (15 mins). Uber doesn't work well but we used the Freenow app which was great. The beach is a lovely 15 min walk down Ramblas PobleNou pedestrianised street with shops/bars and restaurants. the beach was buzzing with people playing volleyball etc and a couple of good restaurants. We spent a fair amount of time by the pool which was relaxing, and cold drinking water was available form the machine in the gym close by. Cocktails were lovely as were the food options at the pool bar. The only off putting thing was couples all over each other in the pool, but that's not an issue with the hotel! All in all a great stay in a good location and I would stay there again.

I had an incredible stay at The Level at Sky Melia Barcelona! The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, but what truly makes this place special is the staff. A huge thank you to Antonino and Federico, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and memorable. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and personal touch like remembering my name made all the difference. Every interaction was warm and welcoming. If you’re looking for a hotel with outstanding service, this is the place to be!

As a Melia Platinum member, I've had the pleasure of staying at numerous Melia properties, but the Melia Barcelona Sky has truly surpassed all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the exceptional service and attention to detail.
I was delighted to receive a fantastic suite upgrade by the check-in with a very nice welcome at the front office, complete with a welcome amenity of Spanish delicacies and complimentary water bottles. The suite itself offered stunning views and was impeccably appointed. The spa area was a haven of relaxation, and my complimentary 30-minute treatment was a delightful bonus. The Level experience was equally outstanding, with attentive staff and a lounge that offered top-notch culinary offerings, far exceeding the typical lounge fare.
The hotel's location is ideal, providing easy access to both the city center and the beach. The check-in process, even late at night, was seamless, and I appreciated that all staff members were fluent in English.
What truly sets the Melia Barcelona Sky apart is its unwavering commitment to service. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, with a wide variety of high-quality options, including an egg station. The staff's attentiveness was remarkable – used plates were promptly cleared, and even my soft drink bottles were opened without me having to ask. This is not a luxury hotel and was a complete disappointment. Do not pay for “The Level” it is a waste of money. The website is deceptive regarding spa access. You get one thirty minute entry for the entire stay, no matter if you stay one night or ten nights. But you aren’t missing out as the spa is in poor condition. Steam room is broken, the hot tub has tepid water which caused irritation to my skin. The front desk person at the spa was very nice though. Regarding “The Level” room. We first walk in and notice that our door is broken and does not close properly unless you slam it. This becomes important later when the cleaning staff came to service the room and did not close the door behind them… We came back at night and our door was ajar and completely unlocked… Luckily nothing was stolen but this is a major security issue. The room itself was clean but lacked a trash can and both the coffee machine and the safe were broken. As other reviewers have mentioned, the toilet had a strong sewer smell emanating from it at times. “The Level” lounge was fine and the food server was very friendly but the available snacks looked and seemed to be left out all day. Also, the lounge does not open until 9am so do not expect to grab an espresso on your way to the airport or a meeting. Overall, I really regret booking a room at “The Level” because the level of service does not come close to matching the price.

Would give this a zero if I could! Stayed here in January 24! Was woken up middle of the night around 3/4am to an intruder in the room! I have been petrified since. The man dressed in blank didn't say nothing when me and my husband were shouting and screaming he ran out of the room and all the receptionist said it was the handyman who didn't know the room was occupied! No accountability was taken and a free breakfast was offered. At the time I just wanted to get out of Barcelona and didn't think there was much the hotel could do with it being abroad and I was back home. However past year that experience has affected every other holiday I've had. I've woken up scared and screaming on many nights. I can't enjoy any hotel stay it has completely shaken me and no apology is good enough and that stupid free breakfast that was offered is disgusting. Thank you for leaving me full of anxiety and panic ruining every happy occasion when I've had a hotel stay.

Stayed here as a family over New Year’s Eve and would highly recommend. Great set up with the family rooms and the Level lounge had incredible views over the city. Breakfast was fantastic, again with great views. A few minutes walk to a tram stop, metro station and bus stop so very accessible to all areas of the city. Make sure to take a walk down Rambla del Poblenou for lots of local bars and restaurants. Short walk to the Westfield Glories shopping centre for shopping and dining Mimi @ Find Your Resort

This is an unusual review because I'm writing this without having finished a full day's visit: the service and amenities at this hotel are superb. I made a minor mistake in my booking for a 9 night stay that the service went above and beyond to remedy.
The staff here are exceptionally patient, gracious, solution-oriented, and knowledgeable. While I'm visiting primarily for work, the concierge and team have been incredibly helpful to point out activities or neighborhoods for me to visit during my stay.
Haven't even stayed a day yet -- I know I'm going to love it. If you're debating this hotel versus another: don't. Just choose this one.
Update after one month of reflection: Completely worth it. The team here made every effort to make my stay as comfortable and accommodated as possible. Thanks so much to everyone - I will wholeheartedly recommend this place to all friends and colleagues!
