H10 Marina Hotel

Bed was good, bathtub did not have a plug to use, had to ask for one. The toothpaste and shaving cream were expired which makes you think whether the shower gels and body lotion were also, I’d rather you not offer any. There was hair on the sink counter. Th walls are thin so you could hear others speak, and housekeepers did a lot of speaking just outside my room too. The gym bikes were broken, and gym itself was enough for one or two people to be in there. No aircon either, so it’s like a steam room due to the humidity coming out of the actual spa…should never have been 4 stars.

This property is in need of updating. The walls are paper thin. You can hear conversations in the next room at average speaking level. My room did not have coffee but when I asked it was brought to my room. A hot pot with instant packets. My status was not recognized. So, no gratis water. At check in I arrived at 3:15 pm. Was told my room was not ready and to wait in the lobby. I gave the person my name. After 1 1/2 hrs of waiting I inquired and found my room to have been ready. When asked why I wasn’t notified the response was we didn’t know you were waiting. At this time. I pointed to the receptionist whom I game my name and said, she did”!
Clearly, a lack of communication between staff members. I would not choose this hotel. But would consider the H10 Catalonia. Wish I had!!

Honestly not sure why this hotel has got such great ratings, my experience was not great.

My room ( a double) was small, worn, shabby and tired looking, with furniture that had seen better days, and various chipped areas in the bathroom. It also had a very strange smell. The AC was intermittent and very loud. I gave up and used the ceiling fan, which I was grateful for, but that was also loud at night.

There’s no hiding from the noise outside, or for other rooms, so there’s no peace and quiet to be found here. They only give you 1 bottle of water (on arrival) and I had to ring to ask for refills of tea/coffee in the evening, the cleaning staff didn’t bother to replace them when they cleaned. I was then told to come downstairs to reception in my PJs if I wanted any, or to wait until the room was cleaned again.

The kettle cable is too short, and is not placed anywhere near a plug, so I had to boil the kettle under the desk for a couple of days. A bit of a health risk in a small room when you’re walking back and forth. When I rang reception to ask for a kettle with a longer cable, they had none and said that they had never had such feedback before. I genuinely wonder whether/how people use the kettles then as they said all the rooms were designed in the same way. I left the kettle under the desk for 3 days, the cleaning staff did not move it. They were very unbothered and unapologetic about everything.

The best thing about this hotel was the location, I was there for work and it was minutes from the office. Nothing much else to commend it for. Wouldn’t choose this hotel again, there’s more decent ones in the area.
