Reviews
All the staff were friendly, warm and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was clean, spacious and bright and the shower was very nice too. Make sure to check out the little rooftop pool and restaurant that has exquisite views, delicious food, and a fun atmosphere.
We stayed at Condes Hotel from May 9–12, 2025, and unfortunately had one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had — this is not a 4-star experience.
Night 1 (Room 657):
We discovered a cockroach in the middle of the night and immediately reported it to the front desk. They had no equivalent rooms available, but promised a conversation with the manager and offered free breakfast as a temporary gesture.
Later that day:
We found a second cockroach in the same room, just two hours later. We again reported it and requested a move. We were relocated to an internal-facing room (Room 762) on the 7th floor.
Monday (Manager conversation):
The manager admitted there had been multiple cockroach incidents in the hotel recently, possibly due to construction on the lower floors. He offered a complimentary rooftop dinner. At that point, we were looking for a partial refund, not a free meal. We told him we’d think about it and planned to discuss again before check-out.
Final night:
We returned late (around 1:30 a.m.) and were shocked to find TWO more cockroaches in the new room. We called the front desk immediately. They offered to move us again (to Room 652), but couldn’t guarantee the problem wouldn’t repeat. We chose to stay put.
Check-out experience:
The general manager stopped us as we were leaving. He initially offered just one night compensated, dismissing our request for a refund by saying they were a business and claiming we’d had “three quality nights” — clearly unaware of the second incident. When we informed him, he reluctantly offered to comp two nights, while also telling us that cockroaches are “normal” and “to be expected” when staying in Barcelona.
We’ve since escalated the issue to iPreferred directly.
Bottom line:
This was a completely unacceptable experience. Between the four cockroach sightings in two separate rooms and the dismissive attitude of management, we cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. It was unhygienic, frustrating, and not remotely reflective of what you should expect from a 4-star property.
Immediately upon arrival at the hotel I was met by a young man at the reception desk named Tom, he was incredibly friendly, upgraded the room category for free, answered all my questions, in the end I spent no more than 5 minutes at the reception desk and soon enjoyed the stunning view in a wonderful mood! Top location!!
The room was spacious, as was the bathroom.
The bed was comfortable, the bed linen was fresh, the soundproofing was good, you could not hear the cars from the street, although I sleep lightly.
On the roof of the hotel there is a great terrace with a DJ! I can safely recommend this hotel!
P.S. they allowed a late check-out (no one ever called, there was no knock on the door from 10 am, as sometimes happens)
We stayed here for 5 nights, the room was very clean, the bed is comfy and when we asked for an extra towel, someone immediately came up and brought us 5.
The location is obviously amazing (if a bit noisy, especially in the mornings), you can reach almost anything by foot and there are great restaurants nearby.
The only "issues" were that there is no smart TV, which was a bit disappointing considering the price point.
