Port Europa Hotel

Where do I start? The hotel all in all was ok could do with a refurb of the rooms but in general it’s okay, the food is edible but not very much choice especially for picky eaters! We was an English family and the only one in the hotel, staff? Only one bar staff which was a youngish tall skinny lad was decent the rest were arrogant towards us and took time to serve us, all entertainment is Spanish and to me this hotel is made for Spanish people! Even Calpe all together, that’s fine no problem maybe we should of checked before booking, my 2 toddlers enjoyed the pool although we thought was really small compared the amount of residents, 3 times we had to use google translate at the bar one time requesting a plaster for my 3 year old boy who’d fell and grazed his foot, that’s fine I went to a different country I don’t expect everyone to speak my language but surely someone at least should speak English or more than just Spanish when you’re letting other countries come for holiday making. My kids did enjoy the out door park and play area although the day time entertainment is definitely aimed at older kids my toddlers never got asked once to join in, I say toddlers my eldest is nearly 4 surely he can play a game but never mind we was a group of 8 we entertained them ourselves! Also seating inside the bar again very less chairs compared to amount of people, snack bar was alright if chicken nuggets was on, lifts were really slow and queue for restaurant was horrendous, so yeah some highs some lows, personally I wouldn’t go again but we did enjoy our holiday all in all, an holiday to me is what you make of it! And sunbeds if you’re not up for the pool gate opening for 8am you’ve no chance as people lay there towels and dissapear for majority of the day as we’ve sat and watched this happen.
