A/c controls were dodgy.
TV reception was poor and predominantly in French.
There was no information on available facilities except advertising the spa.
It advertises two pools. The rooftop one is not much bigger than a domestic one and overcrowded, the"outdoor" one on the first floor is totally surrounded by the hotel and gets no sun. It was empty when I went there to swim. I soon realised why, it was freezing!
The restaurant resembled a canteen.
The foyer reminded me of a train station.
Again no information displayed here.
What made it worse was that the adjacent Sol y Mar boasted a beautiful outdoor pool of olympic proportions and the dining areas, relaxing areas, gym etc were all in plain site. 10 times better for a similar price.
The lifts were always oversubscribed, with waits of 5 minutes or more typical.
The cleaners were good 🥴
The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, particularly helpful was the lady receptionist who checked us in. We didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on that, but it looked very pleasent. The hotel was very clean, the rooms very comfortable. Calpe is well supplied with good restaurants and again with friendly helpful staff. Great place we will definitely be back.
