Great hotel - would definitely return! Some very negative reviews about Sol Kathmandu but it was worth every penny. So much to do, great customer service, good selection of food and drinks, clean and in a central location very close to beach. What more could you ask for?

Stayed 10 nights , lovely hotel ,great for kids. Foods nice ,abit repetative ,we are vegetarian so abit more choice would have been nice, puddings are lovely. Didnt like the drinks token system, continously looking for the tokens or going back to the room for the cups got annoying. Cocktails are horrible bottled syrup pre made. Upside down house great loved it, 4d movies fab loved them. Waterpark water is freezing so didnt use other than 10 mins,but hotel pools are nice and warm . Big pool has no shallow end which is annoying. Soft play great,loved the shooting games too. Didnt pay extra for the golf as its not that good when we looked round it. The location of the hotel is brilliant,lots of shops ,lovely beach etc. room hairdryer shocking ,cuts out as overheats in a few mins,absolute rubbish. Beds comfy,and room nice. Just use the safe . Bad points - my childs sweets for the return plane trip were stolen from the room. Must of been cleaners,nowhere to be found when packing to leave ! Ridiculous,sad 7 year old .. for reference giant bag of skittles and see through compartment tub of various sweets gone ! I had put them in the wardrobe with our clothes that we had for going home in Entertainment at night time was rubbish ... Seating too far back to hardley see unless your there mega early. Acts poor . Foam party was ok but lasted too long with nothing else going on. Mini disco ,poorest we have seen at hotels. Most entertainment finished at 1030...

I really have to give the kids club a 5+ review. The safety is simply top notch adults are not even allowed in the kids club rooms you drop off and pickup at the door. The activities are planned excellent and the kids walk between activities all grouped in bright tabards the younger ones hold onto a rope so all walk together. We always say to the kids try on the first day if you do t like you don’t have to go again. We couldn’t plan activities that took the kids away from kids club. The team always chatted to the kids outside of kids club. Shooting their names whilst they were in the pool and coming for a chat when we were in the restaurant. Diego even helped the youngest one when we were playing uno near the snack bar. Caesar, always stopped to say “hello chicken nuggets” the girls absolutely loved it. On our last day they didn’t want to do anything other than go to kids club one last time. Clara, Caesar, Diego,Sami and the tall guy, sorry I didn’t get your name. We’re nothing short of superb. The girls loved making chef hats and their own pizza in the hotel kitchens, trip the upside down house unlocked all the secrets in their for them, the visit to the splash park as a group they loved and outside of kids club they often threw a long inflatable mat and had the kids queuing up to run the length or pool noodle fight like gladiators. We spent the whole week laughing. The theme park attached the hotel has a soft play again security for the kids was key. Tabards and if a child tried to leave on their own an alarm was sound. We always felt the kids were safe. Thank Clara, Caesar, Diego, Sami and the rest of the team. We would love to pick up this kids club and take it with us on every holiday. Thank you 🙏

We’ve just returned from 5 night at Sol Katmandu and what a fantastic time we had! Rooms: some say small but I say plenty of room for what we needed (2 adults 2 kids) big comfy beds, great hot shower, no balcony so the tip about brining a little washing line is ideal and a white noise machine if you’re bothered by outside noise. Always so clean just like the rest of the hotel is kept by the hard working maintenance crew. Staff: so welcoming, always with a smile and the kids club crew are amazing! Kids club: incredible choice of daily activities for ages from 1-9yrs and so safe, our boys loved it!! Food: so impressed by the quality and variety with a different theme every night and even great selection at the pool snack bar. Drinks for all inclusive were great too, cold beer, fresh sangria, the pre mixed cocktails were a little sweet but still fun as an alternative. Park: rides were so much fun for all of us (kids 4 & 6) we went 3 days out of the holiday and the upside down house was just fab! Splash park super cute and fun with plenty of slides and we loved that everything was onsite. Pools: big and small were so spacious, always warm enough in the 30 degree heat and we got a front row sunlonger every day (we did put towels down at about 8/9am most days but many came up during the day as people rotated) Beach; local beach is beautiful white sands and clear warm sea with pedalos lots of local bars but maybe not tons around to do in the local town for kids but we didn’t need that as the hotel had it all, we could have done day excursions elsewhere but we had so much fun on site we didn’t need it. Our boys are already asking when we can come back!

Room Katmandu room with a shower, on 6th floor overlooked looking evening entertainment area. No external noise issues other than being close to the lifts and hearing people going back to their rooms but not so bad we couldn't sleep. No unwanted smells on the balcony which ive read in other reviews, we didnt smell any 'substances' at all during our stay. Rooms are very small and only a tiny amount of storage space, especially difficult with a buggy in the room. No hanging space for maxi dresses. Had to clear towels off bathroom undersink to store any toiletries. Air con didnt work, spoke to reception twice and still nothing done so on 3rd day spoke to a manager (think his name was pedro) and he immediately got us a fan which was a god send in 35+ degree heat after 2 nights of no sleep due to the heat. He also got us more towels as the maids kept leaving us only 2 towels for 3 of us in the room. Beds comfy, shower powerful. Like that you just use your band to unlock door so no issue ratching for a key. Rooms cleaned and towels changed daily, good standard of cleanliness. Food Im at very fussy vegetarian, we ate out for a change of scenery 2 out of 7 nights. Of the 5 nights eating in the hotel, there was only 1 night I really struggled and ended up with plain pasta with a tomato sauce as it was Mexican night and the only veggie option was vegan chilli and I can't get away with anything mince texture. Apart from that, every other meal was fine, I wouldn't say outstanding but for all inclusive the quality was good. My 4 year old 'beige freezer food eater' managed ok with pasta, chips, chicken fingers, hot dogs etc. Parents please supervise kids!!! The amount of wasted food we seen by small kids helping themselves and dropping food all over the counters was ridiculous and also made it unclean for other people, although the staff were very efficient and cleaned as soon as it was noticed. Food was replenished quickly. Snack bar by the pool was great, we all found something in there we could eat if we missed breakfast or lunch in the main restaurant. Drinks and ice cream Cocktails are pretty rubbish and pre-mixed, slush great for kids, tokens were a pain on day 1 but we saw several stray cups laying around so collected a few up and in no time we had a few more tokens which made life much easier than having to find the same 3. Cups were fine, no funny taste, no issues. Biggest disappointment for me was no iced coffees, if you ask for one you get given a cup of ice and told to help yourself to a hot coffee from the machine to pour onto your cup of ice, it was vile. Ice cream is vanilla or chocolate tiny tubs, there's a big sign at kids eye level at the pool bar with all the lollies to pay extra for which was a bit of a pain as our 4 year old kicked up a fuss for one everytime we walked past. We took a drinks caddy, it was so handy and totally recommended (about £4 off temu)! Location Perfect. Shops right outside the front to grab essentials,

So good, why do people write bad reviews about this place. Our stay was fabulous, the food was plentiful and I'm gluten free. The hotel is spotless and smells lovely everywhere you go. What a great cleaning team this hotel has. The attractions are great, I highly recommend a few bacardis before the upside down house for the laughs. The pools were good and the areas around really clean. The entertainment was good, water sports during the day and disco, funfair and bands at night. 3 points for the hotel manager though... 1) Where is the Aqua Zumba?? 2) Please move the smoking area, can not breathe coming through main doors where everyone sits to smoke. Not nice for non smokers. 3) Please tell your pool team to move people's towels off the chairs. Some chairs we saw all day with no body on and people can not sit down. Other than that the hotel, room, facilities, staff and customer service was great

Had the best time at this hotel! Lots of food and drink options, and the hotel is spotless, we always saw someone cleaning! The rooms were a little small and we were surprised to not find a desk or vanity in the room. We booked bed & breakfast and requested to change to all inclusive which was no trouble at all for the reception staff who were all friendly and accommodating. Evening entertainment was always fab for the kids and you were never bored with the park rides although there is always a 10/15 minute queue for these. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk away and is absolutely stunning!! shops right outside the main entrance for snacks & toys for the kids. Pool was always clean and tidy and had no trouble finding loungers daily. Lifeguards were all super friendly too, great with the kids and always tidying up the umbrellas and floats. Will definitely be back.

Me and my 5 children stayed here last week for 5 nights. This is an amazing place for children and our days were filled with everything on offer. The house was a massive hit with the children we went numerous of times. The food was excellent and plenty of choice, rooms were immaculate although small but adequate. Fantastic location for the beachfront, staff were polite and joyful. We celebrated Halloween while there and it was so nice to see everyone taking part in it and it lasted for the duration of our stay.
Amazing experience for my children’s first time abroad.

Great family hotel. We only had breakfast at the hotel, great food and variety. The pool and slide area was good, but since it was beginning of april and the water was cold, my child used it minimally. The other areas of the hotel was absolutely amazing! Lots of turtles and fishes in ponds outside, with a fish feeding vending machine! One of my favorite avtivites during the trip for my 7y. The upside down house was a hit. Probably visited 7-8 times in 2 days. Great softplay area. Very fun 6xD movies. Probably saw 10times different short films. Short walk to the beach. Great food and small shops/supermarket across the street. Good restaurants close by. Ate at the blackbeard restaurant 5min walk, amazing food! Perfect family hotell only downside we experienced was the noise from the hallway. Up/down/neighbour rooms was no sounds. But throu the door into the hallway it felt like there was no door, and some kids came running in the corridor late at night.
