Tacande Portals

This was our second stay at this hotel, we returned because we had enjoyed the atmosphere and the adult only environment the first time. We were however bitterly disappointed with our return visit. Overall the standard had completely dropped and what had felt luxury before now felt cheap and uncared for. The room was bare and basic, even the pictures weren’t hung straight.
There was also an incident of children being permitted to stay over the weekend as part of a large wedding party. This was quite the surprise in an adults only hotel. When I mentioned it to the reception staff I was met with contempt and although they offered to move our room - as there were some of the children in the room directly above ours, which was a noisy experience- nothing was done to compensate the fact that our adults only stay had been disrupted. We had left our own children at home to enjoy a peaceful week away, which we never got.

We were promised that ‘the manager would be in touch with us’, however this never happened. I have since made a formal complaint which led to nothing and taken up a dispute with the hotel via booking.com. The hotel completely denied that this incident ever happened. Appalling customer service. This place does not deserve to have a 4 star rating at all. They do not provide the service that a 4 star hotel should provide by any stretch of the imagination.

We expected two days to relax and got ... 100% disappointed. First day receptionist and barkeeper at the pool were the only team members who actually cared about the guests and provided excellent service.

Construction sides are all around the hotel. And even though the guests are all quiet (adult-only) the background noises are loud and clear.

We booked half board were shocked about how we were treated at the restaurant. My girlfriend was being accused of lying when she had a thumbnail-large piece of glas in her food. The plate was removed and it was said it was salt... We got a refund for the food (even though they wanted to take a copy of my credit card before.. never do this!) and could eat lunch the next day which we appreciate. However, the quality of food was rather bistro than fresh food. The room was fine. The private access to the pool of this room was nice, but watch out for noisy neighbours which are right next to you.

Even though the hotel was closed for 18 month and we understand that things don’t work out all the way directly, this was not enjoyable at all. We can not recommend this hotel for anyone who expects quality & comfort to relax, and for this price - unfortunately unreasonable.
