Bahia Principe Sunlight Coral Playa Hotel

This hotel is definitely not a 4Star hotel. It is outdated, lacks air conditioning in all common areas, rooms are dated and there bugs all over the room. The woman at the front desk is truly unprofessional and admits to hating her job. She told me she doesn’t care anymore because she already quit. The entire hotel shuts down at 11pm including the lights in the lobby, common areas and pool area. My room never had a functioning air conditioner and most tv stations say no connection.

Where do I even begin? This is, without exaggeration, one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in — and it’s laughable that it claims to be 4 stars. Completely fooled by the pictures online — looks like a pretty, quality hotel on booking sites and Maps, but in reality it’s awful. The “beautiful” sea you see in their photos only looks like that in the morning — by afternoon it’s murky and dull, more like the Thames river.

First, the smell. The corridors reek of old furniture and mustiness. It’s everywhere. Step into the reception and you’re hit with a wall of hot, stagnant air because there’s no air conditioning — in 40°C summer heat. No decent hotel would run a reception without AC in these conditions.

The parking situation is a complete joke. There are only SEVEN spaces for the entire hotel. We arrived late at night, spent an hour circling the area looking for a spot, found nothing nearby, and had to park far away. Because the hotel is perched on a steep hill and my mother has back problems, we had to pay for a taxi back.

The breakfast? Possibly the worst I’ve ever seen. Food looked like it had been sitting out for days, tasted like nothing, and the coffee was so bad it was almost undrinkable.

Towels? Changed only every three days. That meant using the same sandy, damp beach towels for almost our entire stay.

The staff? Cold, unfriendly, and unwelcoming. There’s already a comment on Google about the bald receptionist being rude — I now understand exactly what they meant. When I greeted him and asked how he was when we arrived to check in, he didn’t even bother to ask back.

This is NOT a 4-star hotel. Whoever awarded them that rating clearly has no idea what a 4-star standard is.

We had a bad experience at this hotel . The room wasn’t that we was expected… I took some pictures , light at the entrance was broken, the curtains very old whit holes , we had problems in the bath whit the drain , we had 3 singles beds in the room , like in the hospital 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. The breakfast? Every morning eggs , milk, croissants… dinner was better but not like was expected … is not a 4stars hotel . The view is wonderful and the advantage that they have a lift that takes you to the beach. The internet is not working as well , we’ve been travelling whit a baby and a toddler, we arrived late at the hotel , we asked for some dinner and they just told us that we can’t eat there and we have to go out ,to find a restaurant around the hotel whit two kids at 11-12 o’clock? but we paid for dinner as well , we didn’t had kettle , was very important to clean the baby bottles and prepare milk … thanks but we will NEVER visit this hotel again. Is not a family hotel, no pool for kids , a play area , but missing toys …
The staff was friendly, just a bad experience at the pool , my husband ask for a strong mojito and told him that will cost double money… for what ? Sure , was expected to pay more but not double….
