Hotel Bruxelles

The location is very good, one street away from Republic Square. There was no breakfast provided, and the waiter said that we had to make it ourselves after 8 o'clock.

Good value hotel in great location. En suite shower was a god send in 33 celcius heat. No air con, so whilst leaving the window open kept us cool, it also brought in the nocturnal noises of the city which never sleeps

Clean, well located, lots of bars and food venues within a short walk...

Recently stayed here for 4 nights and was really happy with my stay! It was my family and I first time in Paris. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and spoke good English which was super helpful because we didn’t know much French other that’s basic greetings 😭. The rooms were clean, one thing to note though it seems that they are slowly updating the rooms, my family and I had two rooms between us and one room was more modern and the other was definitely dated but seems to be that’s they are working way up upgrading. One of my only ‘complaints’ is the rooms are quite hot so fans or aircon would be great additions to the room.It wasn’t fancy or the most impressive hotel but we were out exploring the city for literally the entire day was only in the hotel at night and it did exactly what we needed. The location is a bit further out from the main tourist spots (Eiffel tower, the louvre etc) but the metro station is literally like a minute walk from the hotel, breakfast is available but it’s extra and my family didn’t get the breakfast so we went to patisserie (Maison landsmaine) across the road every morning which was sooooo nice genuinely some of the best coffees and pastries I had when in Paris. Many lovely restaurants and cafes near the hotel aswell so never bored of options

I stayed 4 nights in a double room. Although the carpet was very dated, the room was clean and the bathroom appeared to be newly renovated. Picture provided is view from room.
Gentleman that checked me in was very friendly but woman was not - very intolerant/impatient.

Pros:
Across the street from the Republique train & access to taxis
Centrally located w/ access to many shops & restaurants
Price per night (less than $100)
Very comfortable bed & pillows
Staff very responsive to email

Cons:
No frills, towels provided only (no toiletries or washcloths)
No way to change the room temperature as this is regualted hotel-wide due to the age of the building (heavy blankets were provided)
I was on the 5th floor (tiny elevator only goes to 4th).
Moderate street noise (no way to avoid this)
I asked repeatedly for 2nd bed light to be fixed to no avail

Note: I got a bad cold while there. The pharmacy (by the Republique subway entrance) was incredibly helpful and inexpensive. I purchased a rapid Covid Test and, after providing my symptoms, effective cold medicine for $5.99.

* I will absolutely stay again if the price stays this reasonable!
