Grand Hotel des Gobelins in Paris

The staff was outstanding, seeing to my needs in the friendliest manner—from supplying converters to arranging for a taxi to CDG.

My only complaint was the darkness at the 2nd floor after dark. Barely could find our room.

Located on a safe area with fine transportations.
Room is quite economic and close to the road. There is ambulance car and police car sound over the night.

We stayed 5 nights at des Gobelins in July. My family and I had a great stay. The rooms are a little on the small side, but we booked two rooms for the 4 of us and the hotel was very accommodating to have them beside one another. It was tough to have two suitcases open and walk freely around room, but was not that big of a deal. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and bright. The street in front of the hotel can be noisy, but with the windows closed, it was surprisingly quiet. Bathrooms were clean and larger than expected. Big lobby, so not crowded when checking in.
The hotel was close to Metro stations (and Buses) so very easy to get around. Lots of nice Boulangerie, restaurants and grocery stores within easy walking distance from hotel. The neighbourhood seems vibrant and safe. It was easy to get from the major attractions to the hotel as well, so it was not a hassle to go back in the afternoon to have a break. Our rooms had A/C so was very comfortable temperature, as Paris was very hot when we were there.
We choose not to have the breakfast, so cannot comment on that. The hotel does have an elevator, but it is very small and tight, so quicker to use stairs if you can.
Overall it was a great stay. If you are looking for a nice little hotel for good value, I would recommend Des Gobelins.

Nice staff, the room has everything a traveler needs. It is obvious that they did it for people, so that everyone would be comfortable. There is a bathtub!! The bathroom itself is spacious
The view from the window is of the Eiffel Tower :) delight! The renovation in the room is not new, but nothing irritated me there, this is rare for hotels in general. The area itself is quiet, safe. The metro station is 2 minutes away. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to Notre Dame, I walked every day :) thank you very much, I will definitely come back)

Average hotel, older facilities

Pleasant hotel in the central area, clean and sufficiently spacious rooms. Courteous staff despite a problem with the reservation when we arrived at the hotel; solved first by the concierge who kindly came to meet us and, subsequently, by customer service who quickly provided a refund of an extra payment we made on site.

Very nice hotel in a great central location, small and cozy, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are relatively large for a Paris hotel, beds are large and comfy, and cleaning is spotless. Breakfast was good.
Always enjoyed returning to our base here.
Tip: there's an Italian restaurant closeby with great pizza and pasta, and if you are too tired to go out to eat, they do takeaway.
Would love to return here.

It was cosy, super clean with a kind and knowledgeable receptionist. The classic room was too small but it was okay. The only issue was the stairs that you should lift your luggage to reach to the elevator.
