Hotel Maxim Folies

It's a shame that the greed and unprofessionalism of some people spoil the fantastic work of a great team.

We have gone with our family to this hotel because we stayed two years ago, just before the pandemic, and we were delighted with the situation and the service of the hotel.

Yesterday, after some fantastic days in Paris, our farewell was very unpleasant due to the performance of a receptionist who apparently is dedicated to making extra money by calling his taxi driver friend and charging a commission for each call.

He asked us 50 euros for a transfer to Orly, explaining that we were 4 people and that a van was necessary to take us.

The taxi driver arrived and handed him his corresponding commission in front of us.

This did not seem right to us, but it was worse when we saw that the taxi he was driving was a normal taxi (not a van), and that the taxi driver was surprised to see that there were four of us. Reluctantly, he drove us to the airport, driving awful and skipping up to 4 red lights.

Once in Orly, he tried to charge us € 60, and when we told him we were going to call the police he accepted the € 50 that we had agreed with his pal / partner at the hotel. It's a shame I didn't see the name of his "mobster employee". He is the man who was working the reception on the afternoon of October 8 at around 7:00 p.m.

The rest of the team were charming and professional, but this gentleman is the reason why, sadly, we are not going to return to the Maxim Follies.

For 10 dirty euros ... ☹

Tiny rooms but refurbished and modernized. Lobby is super cool and staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is amazing, safe area, close to the opera, close to restaurants.

A nice and clean hotel with helpful staff.
The rooms are small, but clean.
The breakfast is a little meager, but it should be enough for the first hours of the day.

The location is good, so you can walk everywhere or take the tub. Rooms are a bit too small and needs a refurbishment (they are busy with it at the moment) Only a bed and two side shelfs next to the bed. No working desk and no wardrobe, but a little place with hangers and a safe. A little too nosy at the night if you keep your window open. This bin truck everyday at 5-6 am is really annoying. Great breakfast and room service ?
Very good place to stay for 2-3 nights, not more.
