A wonderful stay! Sweet hotel with better than average Paris bathroom. Wonderful shower and plenty of hot water. Our room had a door onto a lovely balcony facing the street. The hotel was impeccably clean and our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. I loved the fact that housekeeping neatly folded my pajamas each morning :-) The front desk is staffed 24/7 which is nice in a neighbor with lots of late night activity. The concierge watched our luggage after check out while we spent our last day in Paris. We’ll be back!

I am writing regarding my recent stay at Hôtel du Vieux Marais from August 11th to 15th. I had reserved a larger room with a queen-size bed, but upon arrival I noticed that the room appeared smaller than advertised and did not resemble the photos online with zero view( the view was a brick wall with a bunch of junk and garbage below).
On the third night, a serious issue occurred in the bathroom: water began leaking from the ceiling, at first slowly but then progressing to a steady flow. Eventually, there was a loud noise and part of the ceiling opened, releasing a significant amount of water that splashed across the mirror and floor. I immediately contacted the front desk, and the staff member on duty responded promptly and apologetically. He provided me with a new room key, noting that the room would be a downgrade but only temporary until we could move again the next evening.
However, the following morning another staff member informed me that I would be remaining in the smaller room for the rest of my stay. As we were checking out the next day, I did not press the issue further, though it was disappointing to have been downgraded for the remainder of the reservation.
Later that day, I spoke with Ziad regarding a possible resolution for the inconvenience and safety concern caused by the ceiling collapse and room downgrade. Unfortunately, he dismissed the matter, stating “sometimes things happen,” and when I suggested covering my cab to the airport as a gesture of goodwill, he declined.
Given the circumstances—the unsafe condition of my original room, the disruption of having to move rooms, and being placed in a downgraded room without compensation
***I have sent multiple emails to the hotel with zero response.

Fantastic location in a trendy Parisian suburb. The room was clean and had everything one could need, except a small fridge. All of the staff were lovely and the desk is manned 24/7 which we liked. A special shoutout to the night concierge, Salin, who was extremely helpful when it came to arranging an early morning taxi to the airport. I would certainly stay here again when next in Paris.

This spring I stayed here for 6 nights. It has become like a home away from home. I love the decor in the lobby. It feels like a living room in someone's home. This time I had a room with a street view window. It was nice to be able to open it and let in some fresh air. Bed is very comfortable. A real tiled bathroom with a tub. Nice toiletries provided. Excellent housekeeping. My room had a safe, an important detail in a big city. The continental breakfast is delicious and generous. Baguette and croissant of very high quality along with good French butter and English jam. The proprietress reserved quite a few lunch and dinner places for me, at establishments where that can be quite difficult and the food is exceptional. 24-hour front desk. They hold your key for you when you go out: classic. Nice little elevator. Staff is friendly and tolerant of my bad command of the French language. Self-service laundry just a few steps down the street. Convenient to all manner of shopping, night life, cafes, bars and restaurants. From this location you will never be more than a 20 to 30 minute metro ride from anywhere you'd like to be in Paris. I enjoyed many conversations in the lobby, often after a night out on the town. We discussed culture, art and literature. I miss it already can't wait to get back there.

First we got to the hotel and had the most unusual rules, how we weren’t allowed to eat or drink in the room we paid for, they will

The older lady/ owner went in the room to check behind us when we went out. Very creepy the pressing iron we asked for was gone alone with the board. They complained about towels being used n why they were dirty n why we had them on the floor. Felt uncomfortable/ unsafe staying here. They were friendly but definitely had a motive. Ps.. place was clean but u can see it definitely run down.

Quiet and practical location for anyone learning Paris for the first time or frequent visitor. There is always a front desk staff person manning the desk. Also very kind in holding our luggage until time for our departure. Thank you!

Great location - close to cafes, in a high energy, active part of Paris, ten minute walk to the Seine, ten minute walk to Notre Dame. Located on a quiet street so very little noise at night. Very courteous, helpful staff. Marie, the manager of the hotel, was great and helped us with some dinner reservations. I stayed in two different rooms and both were clean and comfortable. The fourth floor has a balcony you can walk out onto.

Very small, typical Parisian hotel. Staff was excellent, helpful and accommodating. Room and beds were clean. Bathroom was older and needed some updating (mould on caulking, cutout hole on ceiling that hadn’t been repaired). Temperature not controllable in room. No coffee option in room/lobby.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay here very much. The simple room was plenty big enough for 2, with wardrobes, bed side lockers and lovely tall, French window. Very comfortable large double bed. There was a small bath with shower, basin and wc. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel consists of a reception area with a very typical Parisian spiral stairs and small elevator leading up to the 5 floors. I can highly recommend this hotel for travellers looking for fantastic central location, a quiet place to rest and good value. I would definitely stay here again.

A charming little hotel in the heart of the Marais. Tiny room but great bathroom with a wonderful shower. The housekeeping staff was super. Spotless every day with fresh towels. Concierge at the front door 24/7. Reasonably priced. Perfect location and perfect hotel. I’ll stay there again next trip to Paris.
