The palace itself was not bad but the room was quite dirty, lots of dust and you could see the yellow spots on the toilet which they didn’t manage to clean… the girls on reception not so welcoming.

This is a concept boutique hotel so I don’t understand some of the negative reviews. You should be looking carefully before booking your hotel if it’s not for you. Alba Opera is an old hotel with its unique characteristics. They have the original lift which is quite fun to use :) rooms are unique and different. Yes they don’t have much amenities, just standard inside. Location is great and staff is always nice.

There is no full-length mirror in the rooms, so you cannot see what you are wearing when you go out. This ruined my trip to Paris. When I told the reception this, they said that their decoration was like this and they would not change it. They don't have sockets near the bed. There is no refrigerator in the rooms. There is no air conditioning. Elevators break down frequently. There is no wardrobe in the rooms. It is not suitable for children because there are photos that can be called erotic everywhere. Hotel staff only give you keys, they do not contribute anything extra to you. I probably wouldn't choose it again.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I highly recommend it since its close to stations and quite accessible and alot of restaurants close by. However we were very disappointed with the room given. It had GOLD wallpaper which would literally give you a headache if the curtains were open in the daylight, and bed and pillows were quite uncomfortable.
Bathroom had a bath which was something quite enjoyable.

I'm sure other rooms (more expensive rooms) are nicer, but I had one of the smaller ones and it was just not very nice. There was no kind of cooler, so if I had any drink with me I'd have to drink it warm and the bed was very hard, with only one pillow provided, which just isn't very comfortable for me. There wasnt any kind of iron, which im at least used to there being in swedish hotels, in case your clothes have been wrinkled during travel. Service and location we're both great, but I don't feel that the room should lack so many accommodations just because it isn't as expensive as the

larger ones, it was still expensive after all. I also think it should be mentioned that if you're unlucky enough to be placed next to a noisy family with children who love to scream, the hotel staff don't seem to put any pressure on the parents to ask them to quiet down.

I simply think this is too expensive for what you get. My back hurt every morning after I woke up in that horrible, horrible bed. There were ants in the bathroom, which also wasn't very convenient (there was not even a shower shelf to let gel/shampoo rest!?) and the room/hotel overall did not feel super clean (dusty windows, floor mat, and elevator, which also is incredibly small). It's not a horrible hotel but definitely not 3 stars and definitely not worthy of what we paid. If this is the parisian standard then I must say, it's very true that this city is damn expensive...
