Hotel Minerve

I enjoyed most of my stay with Hotel Minerve. On arrival, I received warm, welcoming service. The rooms were very clean, had a fresh smell and the beds were comfortable. The location was wonderful near the Latin Quarter but close enough to the Seine and for nice walks through Paris. Unfortunately the service on departure was well below the standard I expected. I left my bags with the hotel and when I arrived to collect them, I politely asked if the staff member, Sasha could check the room we had been staying in as I may have left an item. The staff member abruptly refused, was extremely rude to me and simply shrugged her shoulders and offered me no way of checking the room. She was dismissive and had a negative attitude which severely impacted my overall enjoyment of the stay. She then said I should have mentioned this when I left. This comment was unhelpful given I had forgotten an item unintentionally. The service was vastly different from the rest of the service and based on that experience, I would not recommend this hotel or choose to stay again. Customers should be able to ask staff to check a room for an item, with the consent of the room owner of course without being treated poorly.
