Hôtel Sèvres Saint Germain in Paris

My wife accidentally left a bag containing valuable shopping items in the room. It was then cleaned. And the bag went missing. We spoke to the staff several times. They were not helpful. We knew it had to be taken by the cleaning lady. We feel cheated and that items were stolen by the cleaning lady.

The rooms are small but clean. However if on the street side its very noisy. We had to open the window because the staff did not know how to start the air conditioning function. The breakfast was okay (not worth 19 euros each) and then my husband saw a mouse! The reaction: Paris has so many mice. Really? We have traveled extensively and have never had that experience. Not a hotel i would return to.

My wife and I stayed at Sèvres Saint-Germain from September 1 to 5. It could have been an enjoyable stay, great location and nice staff. However we had an issue with the bathroom sink, which began to drain slowly on Sept 02. The following day it was draining even slower, we advised the front desk clerk, who was concerned but not surprised by our complaint. He said would get someone to fix it. When we arrived back it was draining a little better. The next morning, it was draining very slow. We advised the clerk again (a different gentleman) who said he would get someone to look at it. We arrived back later in the night, it was not draining properly. The next morning, the sink was draining slowly, which made for a very difficult situation as we needed to check out to catch a train. We advised the clerk and showed her a picture; she was horrified and apologized several times for the inconvenience. When we told her that we had advised the desk twice about the issue, she apologized again and said that it should have been fixed the first time. On Sept 05 we sent a message, via the hotel’s on line contact form, expressing our negative experience. We also indicated that we hoped the sink issue would be properly addressed so that future guests would not have to endure such an unpleasant inconvenience To date, no response had been received. The sink issue and lack of response to our message soured our experience at the hotel, instead of a 5 star rating we are giving the hotel a 1 star rating.
