Reviews
We expected so much more from a prestigious hotel like Le Grand.
The concierge team was incredible helpful though, I must point that out. They helped us with sight seeing and restaurant recommendations.
The location of the hotel is quite lovely but if you want good service, (and that too as a person of colour), might I suggest any of the other hotels in the same area?
Don’t think we will be staying here again.
Breathtaking in Architekture and designs . Magnificent halls. (even a chic sheikh from the Emirates hold weddings there) and luxurious lounges restaurants and rooms.
Regarding breakfast, the food was good but not particularly remarkable. It’s worth noting that there was a sewer-like smell in the hotel, which seems to be a common issue throughout Paris. Additionally, there are railway lines under the hotel, so you might feel vibrations, especially in the bathrooms, whenever trains pass by, which feels like a mild tremor.
Overall, it’s a luxurious stay with a few minor issues that are worth considering.
👎: Poorly managed internal systems: multiple people called/ walked in on the morning we were checking out despite having arranged for a late checkout. Housekeeping usually unfinished, mini bar not serviced at all. No laundry service (at all) due to holiday. Parts of room in need of repair.
👉: No laundry on holidays is unacceptable for a hotel this size. Overall enjoyed the stay. Location is hard to beat ano IHG member benefits (complimentary upgrades, club lounge access) definitely increase quality of stay. Will definitely return.
The staff however, were fantastic and could not have been more accommodating as they tried to make us comfortable.
Ultimately we decided to move as the Le Grand did not come up to scratch. There are nicer five star hotels in the immediate area.
I recently completed a stay at the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand, an IHG Hotel, from 12 April 2024 to 19 April 2024. My niece and I were guests in a Junior King Suite with Balcony (Room 1202) for 7 nights. While our experience commenced on a high note, it was marred by unsettling incidents in the last two days, culminating in a theft from our room that was handled poorly by the hotel staff, leaving us profoundly disappointed and concerned for future guests.
Our stay was pleasant until we noticed odd movements of our belongings post-housekeeping from 17 April. The shuffling of toiletry items and the repositioning of personal items were minor yet irritating disruptions to our organized space. Regrettably, this issue escalated dramatically on 18 April. We returned in the evening to find our belongings significantly displaced, prompting us to report this to the housekeeping management, who offered a mere apology and a promise for a better next stay.
However, the situation took a serious turn for the worse when we discovered that a pair of custom-made Golden Goose trainers, newly purchased by my niece (costed 590€) , were missing from our closet. It was evident that during their turn-down service, housekeepers had accessed the closet, unintentionally revealing their entry by misplacing items. Despite promptly reporting the theft to receptionist Pierre and diligently following up, our efforts to resolve this distressing situation were met with lukewarm responses and procedural delays.
The lack of follow-up, accountability, and proper communication from the hotel staff was disheartening. Even after extensive discussions with reception staff, including a particularly dismissive interaction with Yingxi, we were left without a resolution or even a basic acknowledgment of the breach of our security and trust. We had to insist on reporting the theft to the police via an online form, a process we navigated without adequate assistance from the staff.
This experience has highlighted a concerning lack of concern for guest security, belongings, and overall satisfaction. An apology or acknowledgment from hotel management has not been forthcoming, adding insult to injury. Our demands for a resolution, including compensation for the stolen item, have been met with silence.
It is with regret that I must highlight these issues publicly, as our attempts to resolve them privately were disregarded. A hotel of the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand's reputation should hold itself to the highest standards of guest service, security, and responsiveness. Unfortunately, our experience was far below these expectations.
