Checked in. Checked out immediately. Air conditioning unit in the room had no power. Asked for room switch and manager said no rooms have working AC. He offered a tiny fan.

Disappointing Experience at Hotel Victoria, Paris

I recently stayed at Hotel Victoria in Paris, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite being advertised as more than a 2-star hotel, it felt more like a hostel.

The rooms were incredibly small, to the point where sitting sideways on the toilet was necessary. Upon arrival, our room wasn't adequately cleaned, with dirty bedsheets and visibly unwashed linens.

Staying in December, the kitchen's cooking odors permeated our room from as early as 6 AM, creating an unpleasant waking experience. While waking up to the aroma of freshly baked goods sounds appealing, it lingered on our clothes throughout the day.

Setting aside initial low expectations, what disappointed me the most was the lack of heating. In freezing Paris temperatures around 2 degrees Celsius, with biting wind and heavy rain, we returned to the hotel for warmth around 11 AM, only to find a cold room and an unresponsive radiator. Shockingly, we were informed that heating wouldn't be available until 5 PM – an impractical policy, especially in December.

This experience, coupled with the hotel's overall condition, left me thoroughly dissatisfied. It's important to note that I seldom leave reviews, whether positive or negative. However, my frustration and anger during this stay compelled me to share my disappointment. Given the multitude of other options at a reasonable price, I cannot recommend Hotel Victoria to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming stay in Paris.

THIEVES! BE AWARE!!! Someone who works there stole 200€ that I had hidden inside my suitcase, which was locked. They removed everything looking for the cash and kept it.

The reception didn't deign to do anything.

Reception clerk was rude. I saw an older woman ask to leave her bags in reception before her flight later that day, and he allowed it. I asked for the same service, but he told me I was strong and could carry my bags in the city all day and didn't need to leave them there. I have never had a problem leaving my bags the day of check out before my flight later in the evening in any hotel EVER, but this one didn't allow it. I am not sure if it was a racist thing, but it isn't the first time I have been treated unfairly because I am Asian. If management reads this, you should know I stayed there mid-November 2023.
