Hotel Goulielmos

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Goulielmos! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views that take your breath away. It’s peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing, and just a 10-minute walk from a great variety of restaurants. The food at the hotel itself was also fantastic.
But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredible staff. Everyone was so kind, generous, and genuinely caring. A special thank you to the lovely Maria (she’s truly the best!), as well as Simon and Natalia - you all made us feel so welcome and looked after.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing hospitality. Can’t wait to come back!

Tried the steam room enjoyed that shame we didn’t have enough time to try the rest of their spa offers.

We stayed at Hotel Goulielmos for 10 days - which I thoroughly recommend so you can really see all of Santorini and enjoy what the country has to offer without rushing about, plus have time to relax. Hotel Goulielmos is honestly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. It’s tucked into the cliffs of Akrotiri, not crowded at all, and has that peaceful, away-from-it-all feeling. There are a couple of little mini markets just up the road, and you can walk to the village where you’ll find Theofanis Greek Experience – an amazing restaurant with incredible live music, dancing, and yes… plate smashing. Such a fun night!

The pool area is gorgeous, but we were lucky enough to stay in a room with our own private lounge pool. It was the perfect temperature – just cool enough to be refreshing but not so cold you’d hesitate to get in. Perfect for escaping the heat. Breakfast every morning was lovely, with plenty of choice and fresh local produce. Dinner at The Edge restaurant was also fantastic and would highly recommend.

The staff here are something else – genuinely some of the most attentive and friendly people we’ve met on holiday. The highlight for us was meeting Eleftheria, who welcomed us like we were old friends. She gave us loads of tips about the island and made us feel instantly at home. She’s an absolute credit to the hotel. Paris and Natalia also went above and beyond – nothing was ever too much trouble.

Akrotiri itself is a gem. It’s cheaper and less crowded than Fira or Oia, and in my opinion has the prettiest views of the caldera and mountains. Definitely hire a car – you can get anywhere on the island in about 35 minutes.

A few recommendations if you’re planning a trip:
Restaurants – Theofanis (Akrotiri), Metaxi Mas (near Fira), Dimitri’s (Vlychada), Gallini Taverna (near the airport).
Experiences – A traditional boat sunset cruise (Medousa) with Miltos and Stathis, horse riding in Akrotiri, exploring the Akrotiri ruins (get a guided tour and split the cost with others), and hiking up Skaros Rock for the views.
Beaches - red beach hike (like being on Mars), Monolithos (for actual sand and not rocks), Caldera beach (for no crowds), Vlychada beach (for views).

I genuinely can’t fault Hotel Goulielmos. You could spend more to stay in the busier parts of the island, but you’d be swapping peace and space for crowds and noise. There’s something incredibly special and intimate about Akrotiri – and Hotel Goulielmos is right at the heart of it.

Thank you to everyone at the hotel, and especially to Eleftheria for taking the time to go through all the places I’d researched and giving me even more ideas. The Greeks in general are so kind and friendly and we really enjoyed taking the time to get to know certain individuals a bit better. We will remember this forever.

We have visited Hotel Goulielmos in July 2025, and we were extremely impressed by the hotel, location, and friendly and professional staff in particular. We had the room with the garden view which had its own private garden which was a pleasant touch. The views from the hotel to the caldera are breathtaking, especially combined with the good breakfast and dinner or drinks when looking at the sunset. We’ll definitely return here some day!

The hotel was stunning with a perfect view. The breakfast was so luxurious and accessible. We chose to eat in the rooms and it was an amazing experience.

The customer service here was top notch, and they took care of us the minute we landed at the airport, all the way to our departure from the port via ferry. In addition to the comfortable and cool rooms, and the beautiful spa on the front patio with the most incredible view, the restaurant, The Edge, was outstanding. George took excellent care of us and guided our food and wine choices to great success! The hotel is also very compact and easy to access every portion- the rooms, the reception, the dining area (for breakfast), and the restaurant are all mere feet apart. We will absolutely come back here for our next trip to Santorini!

Perfect hotel for true peace and relaxation. Fantastic view from everywhere and a top-notch chef restaurant and most importantly, kind and smiling staff. A most perfect vacation. Highly recommended ❤️

Absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The staff were wonderful, all extremely accommodating and poised to help with whatever you need. The location is a short walk from Akrotiri and close to two wonderful beaches. The view is, of course, absolutely gorgeous.
We rented a quad bike and travelled around a little, including to the lighthouse for sunset which was gorgeous and not at all over crowded.
The rooms were lovely, comfortable and very clean as were all the common areas. Breakfast was very comprehensive and tasty, and was open for a good long period. The pool area is also lovely as are the tables for dinner and drinks.
I'd highly recommend staying here, the staff really make your stay wonderful and relaxing!

The best hotel I’ve been to in a long long time.
The rooms were clean and accessorised, we had a private balcony with a view to the sea and the volcano.
The staff was so kind and thoughtful, always eager to help.
The location was amazing - the Akrotiri region is secluded from all the tourist tumult in Fira and Oia; quiet, peaceful, with a bus station right across the street to Fira, and a free parking lot in the hotel.
The hotel has a fancy restaurant with outstanding dishes, but there are a few more affordable restaurants in a short walking distance (not as amazing but cheaper)
Last but not least - The breakfast was absolutely excellent! They offer many vegan options when .

We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The Location right opposite a bus stop gave easy access to Oia and Fira The rooms were excellent, the view of the caldera from our room was ideal, the staff ( especially Natalia, Paris, Thomas and George) were very responsive to our needs and provided an excellent level of service. The breakfast buffet was very generous scrumptious and also highlighted local cuisine. The dinner meals were excellent. Overall wonderful experience and we are looking forward to repeating.
