Horizon Blu Boutique Hotel

Stayed 2 nights. Hotel is very spacious and looks nice. The beach is just across the front road. Facilities includes a pool and lounge bar. There was a bathtub.

But the hotel’s fixtures are outdated and old. The hairdryer becomes too hot to hot after using it for a minute, i had to use a towel to hold it. The bed was two bed put together so there was a groove in between, bed was uncomfortable and too bouncy. Pillows too soft. Bedding quality was disappointing. The shower room door was ajar so water leaked into the toilet area making the whole area wet. Breakfast quality was not the most impressive. Surprisingly, each 500ml bottled water in hotel room cost €0.50. Even 2-3 stars hotel offers complementary water.

This hotel is not value for money and it needs an update to stay competitive.

I stayed at the Horizon Blu in July 2024. Long story short: My experience did not communicate 5 star hotel... it was...ok.

CONS:
• If you're traveling with a child and ask for a smaller third bed, those mattresses then are super hard. Pillows aren't the most comfortable as well.
• The description "luxury toiletries" couldn't be further from the truth. The bath and body shower gels will be from a brand called "Zealots of Nature". Those products contain hazardous BHT chemicals, including imidazolidinyl urea, both highly problematic ingredients. Half of the ingredients list is not luxurious!
• Experienced a burn due to the semi-broken hair dryer offered by the hotel.
• Water pressure is poor.
• Hot water lasts for 1 and a half shower
• Experienced water leaking from the ceiling, possibly due to the A/C. Not ideal.
• Room card stops working when placed close to a mobile phone. This is problematic because the room card should and could easily be placed in one's pockets. And that is where phones tend to be as well.
• Breakfast explanation cards weren't changed every day. The pastry of the day remained the same for 4 days

PROS:
• Amazing service
• Friendly personnel. They go above and beyond to make your dreams come true.
• Incredible breakfast options
• High quality drink and buffet options
• comfortable lounging at the pool, breakfast and restaurant
• Best Carbonara you'll ever eat! The restaurant is a dream.
• Attached beach chairs and lounge chairs.
• regular fresh water for hydration whenever sitting down at either pool or beach
• Modern and clean architecture that amazes just by one glance
• Big and spacious bathrooms

Conclusion:
My experience might have been a single incident. My expected luxury experience was tainted.
But there are many positives that make this place stand out. I wouldn't give 5 stars. But I'd highly highlight the kindness and warmth of the staff. If you're not staying at the place, definitely check out their bar and restaurant. They were basically faultless.
