I recently stayed at this hotel with my family and had a very positive experience. The cleanliness was excellent — everything from the rooms to the shared areas was spotless and well looked after. I’d give it a solid 4.5 out of 5, as there’s always a little room for improvement, but overall it was truly impressive.
The hotel staff were helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. Everyone we interacted with was professional, kind, and ready to assist whenever needed. Their friendliness made a big difference and helped us feel at home. Again, a strong 4.5 out of 5.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive. The check-in process was smooth and quick, and the room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable
They have different shows every night,kids entertainment and they have 2 swimming pools and a very clean beach with breathtaking scenery 😍

The hotel is very well located in Kalyves, with great beach area, nearby shops, taverns. If you choose all inclusive package, choose ultra all inclusive, much better beverages! The food was very very tasty, every day! The sunrise is amazing! The service was very friendly. The wine list (extra cost) is a great choice for wine lovers, with a very very good price list. The rooms are small, however clean and with confortable beds. It is a good price for money. The pool area are ok, every evening there is qualitative entertainment in the pool area.

Hello everyone. We stayed at the hotel from July 7, 2025 to July 13, 2025. We had a room in the second building, number 239. In the room there were two single beds pushed together as well as a couch/trundle bed for the child. We arrived at night, were checked in without any problem, and staff helped carry our suitcases. In the morning we woke up and discovered a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom. Before breakfast, I went to the reception to ask them to do something. We returned to the room at around 12 PM: it had been cleaned and the smell was gone. But it turned out the smell reappeared if the room wasn’t cleaned at least every day. So we kept hanging the “please clean” sign — although sometimes even cleaning didn’t help. Over time, the sewage smell also spread into the lobby of the second building. I suspect this is a widespread issue in the building.
Food
At breakfast the same dishes were served every day. I’m not saying they weren’t tasty, but we would have liked more variety. I don’t recommend the cold cuts or sausages — they tasted like paper. Lunch and dinner offerings were more varied. We didn’t like the juices because they were basically syrup mixed with water. The juice machines worked poorly, so you could often get a lot of water and little syrup, or vice versa.
Beach
The beach was clean and the water was warm, but only on the side near the children’s playground on the beach. On the other side, the water was colder because a cold river flows into the sea there.
Sunbeds
You have to claim sunbeds in the morning — if you arrive after breakfast, the chances of finding a free one are very small.
Pools
We didn’t like that the pool water was noticeably cold. Also, the pool closed at 7 PM.
Every evening there were entertainment activities near the bar.

The man on guest relations was fantastic!!!! We would not have had a great holiday without him . He showed the best places to visit and they were amazing . Loved every minute. The food was excellent!! The staff were all friendly and helpful. The entertainment was amazing .the hotel has a very nice sandy beach with clean sea with free sun beds and umbrellas. We would love to come back

At first I was hugely disappointed but got better. Not sure where the great reviews are coming from. Rooms and hotel facilities weren't up to the standard. The location is great but the rest is 3 stars at most. Starting from the bottom is the cleaning standards. I was at the end of the season but this kind of dirt has no excuse. Dust under the beds, top of the wardrobe, mirror, dirty drawers and more. Anyways, food was acceptable, along with the drinks and service. Everything is 3 stars except the location which is great. I can believe that this hotel was great at some point and it could be back on the top easily. But my experience wasn't the best

Kalyves is not a place overflowing with tourists, but rather a location recommended for quiet and peaceful relaxation. Within half an hour by car, you can reach many wonderful sights. The hotel staff is very friendly, everyone speaks English, and they are happy to help with anything. I would especially highlight the evening programs starting at 8:30 PM, as well as the children’s entertainment throughout the day. The rooms are large and clean, and the food is delicious and plentiful. I highly recommend it for families.

I would like to highly recommend the hotel. We often travel to Crete, and this was our first time staying at this hotel. I think we will come here again next time.
First of all, the hotel is just the right size, not too big and not too small, and it has everything you need. The beach is right by the hotel, there’s a beautiful river, and we sometimes walked to a nearby beach with kids, it took about 7 minutes by foot. There were no waves there at all, perfect for children.
Secondly, the hotel staff is very friendly and always helped us.
I especially want to praise the animator, Iva, who seems to speak every language in the world. She engaged with the children by painting on t-shirts, drawing, molding clay, and dancing at the mini disco. For adults, she conducted aqua aerobics. This is a great example of someone that truly loves her job.
The children were absolutely delighted.

Kalyves beach hotel is a great place to stay, the room was spacious, bright and really clean. We went for the all inclusive plus package which got us some great extra benefits and was definitely worth the small extra cost. We got a free upgrade to a superior sea view room, discounts on spa treatments (which though I didn’t get I was told weee heavenly!), all you can drink cocktails and premium alcohol and more. The food was varied and suited all tastes, on a buffet style which for me was very dangerous and led to eating way to much, thankfully Iva the animator helps you to wear off the extra calories you are bound to take on with the great food and rink available; the water aerobics are definitely great fun and an easy way to get to know others.
You can’t post a review of the Kalyves beach without mentioning Momo, the guest relations guy!
He is a great asset and really helps you to settle in to your holiday from day one. He is able to arrange the best trips and give you the lowdown on the island. At his recommendation we went for a cruise which was amazing.
The hotel also has nightly entertainment which is a great way to spend the evening, our favourite was the belly dancing night.
We had a great week, our only downside was that we can’t stay longer and hadn’t discovered this gem earlier. We look forward to coming back soon and checking out more of this gorgeous island.

Me and my wife had wedding on Crete 3 days ago and we stayed in this hotel for 7 days with our family. It was one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to. The hotel stuff is incredibly friendly. We’ve got a lot of surprises and gifts because of our wedding. The best one was that they booked for us two nights in other 5 stars hotel nearby with special romantic dinner. I can honestly say that our favourite host here was Momo. He’s really friendly and helpful (also best DJ here). Hotel has delicious drinks and two nice sand beaches. It’s beautiful and I would come back here once more.
