Every year is updated.Location: 99 km from Heraklion airport, 18 km from Rethymno town, 42 km from Chania airport, 38 km from the centre of Chania. A bus stop is 50 metres from the hotel.
Evening entertainment: Rethymno (18 km), Kavros (1 km) – night bars, beach parties, restaurants, taverns, live music.
A vast area of 150 000 m2, surrounded by mountains, is a complex of different types of Bungalow – by the sea on a wide sandy beach with a length of 400 m and width 100 m, the main building and Bungalow complex across the road – around the swimming pools surrounded by gardens full of flowers and greenery.
The hotel has 450 rooms.

Reviews
While some aspects are good, many fall short of what you'd expect from a 5-star experience. The location is nice, with a good beach and plenty of loungers available. However, the food is mediocre—I don't understand the positive reviews. The menu is repetitive, the quality is average, and the desserts are poor.
The waitstaff, especially the male servers, are rude. I often felt like I had to apologize just for requesting water or coffee. The main restaurant feels more like a cafeteria, with tables packed closely together and music that is too loud.
The pools are okay, but they don't seem very clean. The water is always murky.
The rooms are okay, but they don't meet the standards of a 5-star hotel. The cleaning staff do their best, but it seems like they are overworked.
We've visited Pilot Beach Resort two years in a row with our very young children (1 and 3 years old) and it's been a wonderful experience both times.
The beach is amazing, clean, safe and with (most of the time) calm waters. It’s ideal for families.
The rooms are as shown in the pictures and being close to the beach is definitely worth it.
The buffet options at all the restaurants are excellent. The appetizers and main courses are always well-prepared and there’s something for everyone. However, for the desserts, only a few really stood out.
The kid’s corner restaurant is great, it is open during the day until 5PM. In 2023, we noticed it was a bit dirty but they’ve made more efforts in 2024 to keep it clean. The variety of food for kids is fantastic, although I wish they had boiled vegetables in the buffet options (like in all the other restaurants).
The staff is wonderful, always friendly and accommodating to families. Over two years, we never had a single disappointment with the service.
There’s also a new playground near the football grounds for kids aged 3 and up, which is a fantastic addition! I only wish they had something there for children under 3.
Almost every night, there are 2 to 4 events or shows, all worth attending. Our kids especially enjoyed the mini-disco and magician shows.
On a practical note, we had to visit the nearby hospital during our stay and the staff there were excellent. We felt very secure and the doctors were professional and attentive.
Thank you Pilot Beach Resort for giving us amazing family memories! We came here twice during a time when we desperately needed rest and fun with our little ones and both visits exceeded our expectations!
Update: The hotel manager came to see me because he had apparently noticed that we were unhappy. We now have a new room with a great view of the sea. That's why we're giving it two stars. It's a shame that the pool area (in the pool) hardly provides any shade. Unfortunately, it's not good for children. The parasols are very small and don't provide much shade. You have to move the loungers every half hour. The food in the hotel is generally good. The staff are very friendly. Let's see how the next 9 days turn out.
Food is amazing. Every meal meal
was delicious. The pools were the perfect temp, and lots of pools with loads of loungers. Never a problem getting them in the morning.
We liked the pool by the beach and the restaurant here is great for breakfast and dinner. We liked lunch at the main restaurant.
Animation team work hard, Koko was our favourite. And the entertainment by the beach bar was good every night, Andreas was our favourite.
Would highly recommend it. We didn’t want to come home.

The resort gives a beautiful atmosphere, especially due to the beautiful nature.
A perfect and large beach and the area is surrounded by mountains which gives this place the special touch.
The restaurants are clean and not messy even during the busiest season.
The food is always delicious and never disappoints.
Especially the restaurant at the beach can be recommended. Having dinner there while watching the sun set is a super romantic and a warming experience.
Rooms are clean and got everything you need.
The personal is always very helpful and very friendly.
Totally recommended!
